  1. As times are tough and we are verging on a shambles  I’ve emailed the club to offer my cat - Archie - on loan till June. Hes a natural left back but two footed. .He’s tenacious and has good pace. He’s also cheap. On the other hand he can be difficult to manage. Still he’s our level .

the management of our playing squad is a lesson in incompetence.

I can exclusively confirm that every player at Partick thistle is on either a bag of Revels a month or £7 million per week, plus a goat for every goal scored and a five acre-croft for every clean sheet kept.

In training, they flip a 24-sided coin to decide whether they're on the Revels or £7 million track.

This is 100% reliable information from a credible source.

Of only our finances were managed that well

Having lived in London I initially struggled returning home so can imagine how tough it is for a born and bred Londoner aged 20 moving to Glasgow.

However on a 3 year contract I would hope that we could have got some £ for an interested party.

He never played unless injuries meant he had to . A pointless signing and expensive.

  4. It’s clear unless a keeper turns up we won’t be adding to the squad. The finances are clearly poor.

frankly the way we recruit and assemble our squad is baffling . Sayers left because unless there are injuries he will never play , like so many squad players we recruit.

to overspend on our squad in the summer and then reduce your squad from 27 to currently 20 5 months later borders on the insane. Ver poor squad management but luckily no one is responsible.

Can anyone clarify what is a 'league winning budget'? Where is this verifiable?

It was stated by Donald mcclymont at the recent meeting on tranche 2. We have given Doolan a playing budget we couldn’t really afford, that’s verifiable by statements from the board and the need for tranche 1 itself. If the board think it’s a budget that can win the league them I’m sure it’s competitive.

I am not really getting this inadequacy bit. He hasn’t been in charge for 2 years yet, but has taken us to 2 playoffs and has one of the best win records of any Thistle manager. This season hasn’t been very good, but that run to the playoffs in 22/23 was one of the best periods I have had as a Thistle supporter. Last season was decent too bar for one bad quarter.

Football is a black/white business…… if your given a league winning budget - according to Donald McClymont - and your fourth looking over your shoulder then you are not doing well plus our football has been terrible . We are currently going backwards.

Not so long ago some posters were bemoaning the size of the squad. We have now cut the squad, which personally not one I am disappointed to leave. Our budget/ finances will dictate if we can bring anyone, but if we hope to compete we definitely need two more quality players. One midfielder and one forward. Not overly confident we will get either.

Nilsson, Sayers , Smith, Lyons, Diack, Ablade, McCready…..rarely played unless they had to……very very poor squad building and now we can’t strengthen in January ……that’s simply bad management

  8. I can’t be the only one who wonders the plan over the last few seasons of having a large squad filled with players who never play , rarely come on as subs and then disappear. Who is masterminding this ludicrous strategy ?

it should be clear that we are now in cost cutting mode , I guess a goalkeeper might turn up , as was predicted on looking at our financial situation.

we are one of two teams who have not added to their squads.

  9. There are some positives in the accounts eg increased turnover etc  but without tranche 1 we have losses over the last two years of £500k. Tranche 2 then gives us a buffer but that’s only going to last if we stem our day to day  losses and effectively break even. And that is something we have struggled historically to do.

Review of The Partick Thistle Football Club Limited

This year ending 31 May 2024 saw the first full season where Partick Thistle was a fan-owned football club, with this position formalised by the signing of the Club Trust Agreement in February 2024 and strengthened through the introduction of the Club Governance Manual in October 2024.

The first stage of stabilising the club financially was completed in October 2023, through the issue of £500,000 of C Preference Shares to a consortium led by Donald McClymont, a lifelong Partick Thistle supporter, the US-based CEO and founder of the NASDAQ listed business Indie Semiconductor.

The beneficiaries of the PTFC Trust who represent the majority shareholding in the club voted overwhelmingly in December 2024 to support a further share issue of £500,000 which will be formalised at the upcoming AGM.

The directors believe that these investments provide the foundations required to run the club on a breakeven basis, whilst providing necessary reserves to make essential repairs to the stadium and ensure funds are held to guard against unforeseen financial challenges in future.

The financial year ending May 2024, saw a pre-tax loss returned of £131,811, an improvement of £224,023 on the prior accounting period.
