davemains - my tiny circle of friends and family will be overjoyed with some Firhill Christmas cards. Can you post up the link please?

Please one of the big boys. I think Puma strips are great and the first few years the extra gear was brilliant.
-
Could we put in some money and smarten up the bing. Have sponsorhip with flowers, gravel etc so it's pleasing on the eye. Advertising via gardening?
-
I'm similar to LenzieJag where I don't really follow the politics of the club.
But if people were chased away. and I really struggle to understand how they can suddenly stop following a club they claim to support and love, then we have a whole new setup and David Beattie, the remainder of the board (apologies as again I don't follow them individually but respect the work they are doing) and the OneThistle team have been a breath of fresh air.
There is no reason for people to avoid Firhill. The custodians change. The club continues.

Saw an advert in Jackie Husband stand for Christmas cards but could not find anyone who was selling them. Checked with the calendar guys who were selling from their car boots but they did not have any. Anyone got any details for them? Pictures looked good and if you got something on the official site I am sure they would sell like the proverbial hot cakes.

But if people buy the 9 game tickets then we will get some extra coffers to the club and will help them plan in advance and maybe offer some extended contracts.

Finally watched the highlights on bbc i-player. The penalty could have been further into the corner. A bit too close to the keeper for my liking.

The pie and a bottle of beer option seemed to go down well last season. A more social club feel would be good and could lead to it be open for things like quiz nights. Queens Park seem to run a good club even though it is housed in a block of porta-kabins. Also sells West St Mungos at reasonable £2·60 a pint.
I paid £4 a pint in The Landsdowne 2 weekends ago! (Still, keeps the riff raff out).

Positive for me were the fans kept supporting the team and appreciated the players at the final whistle. Team kept trying to play football and we were unlucky to lose and this with 10 men for 60 mins or so. It really was not our day with sending off, a couple of breaks that did not go our way and that penalty miss. Aaarrgh! Doolan is on to a hiding to nothing at the moment as all the balls up to him seem to be to his head or chest. Get it on the deck for him as he can shield it well and lay it off for others and he also has a great turn to go on himself.

There were still some grumblings around me but it's a cultural thing. I see it when I play 5-a-sides! Keep possession and the opposition are not a threat. No point losing the ball and them getting a break. We tire them down when they are running after the ball which is doing all the work. Jackie has a great philosophy on the game and long may it continue and be encouraged. Look at his faith in Muirhead and Balatoni over Archie. Archie is a great servant and will put his baody on the line but he suffers from bad coaching and the first though of hoofing it up the park.I felt the fans were getting a bit restless at the start of the second half, but i put that down to usually winning at half time. -
I have got to admit that I was disppointed with the crowd v Livi. Dunfermline game was amazing and yet a good few fans did not come back. All this recession, credit crunch and Christmas excuses do not wash with me. As usual shops were packed during the day and pubs were packed at night so there is enough money to go around. It was not too cold either. Still a decent game, 1 good and 1 great goal and another victory.
-
Those highlights really showed how good Erskine is playing at the moment. It was a good game. 1sh half a bit scrappy but 2nd half we made the chances and got the goals. Livi tried to play some football although at times especially in 1st half they had 10 men solid behind the ball which we struggled with for a while.
-
I hope we get a good crowd to this. Dunfermline game I brought 2 mates although they were visiting from England so won't be able to attend this one but I am taking another Glasgow based mate to get him interested and get that extra £17 into Jackie's budget.

Remember it's not always about wins. Performance and progress is even more important. Ball down. Head up. Pass and move.
-
60 in the first week is good going. It would be great if we could break 100 this week and I am sure there will be an advert and announcements at the Livi match.
-
Bought a 9 game ticket today. Hope the uptake is going well, will maybe pick up at month end when a lot of people get paid.
-
<Busgate> Cracking up at the banter between the Dunfermline fans.
-
I don't think onethistle remit would include tickets for the final. They are about improving stadium and fan experience. Issues like tickets would get better action by speaking to General Manager Ian Maxwell.
-
Last home game of the season would be a good shout. Plenty of notice. No family commitments like Christmas and allows the person who suggested it to attend! Better weather (hopefully) so we can all get a sun tan in the Jackie Husband Stand. It would also be a good time for Nomads who win the player sponsorship draw to pick up their strip or boots from the player themselves. Last year I did the honours and picked up on behalf of Belfast Jag from Paul Cairney and it was good natured with a lot of players around. The End of Season night will probably be the same weekend.

The thing with the Colts team is that the away support would bring a lot of support, excitement and more importantly money to the clubs they play against. 2 summers ago the friendly v Celtic XI (mostly U19's) was a great crowd, helped our coffers and enjoyable game. That cannot be avoided. The attendances of teams in Div 3 and 2 is far too low and they would be better playing in a regional or junior league. There needs to be some change there.
Also while 4 times a season and sometimes 5 or 6 due to cups is boring the good thing about the SPL is the split as teams in the middle fight hard to get into "Top 6". Could we maybe have a Top 14, with a 7/7 split with 2 teams going down and 3rd bottom in play off with Division below? That would keep end of season very exciting and lead to more movement in the leagues? However for 14 to work teams would play each other 3 times. 26 games before split. Then another 6 in the final run in. Our game v Dunfermline shows that people still get excited about football and we need to keep that in mind. Bums on seats are more important than tv money as Scottish football will never generate the cash of other leagues.

Respect to The North Stand Shed Boys and Girls.

Buy a half season ticket and get the option of a reserved Challenge Cup Final ticket. That should help the pick up.

I would agree with GPT - bottles and cans in fridges and buckets of ice so chilled for all. Turnover very quick and allows people to have a beer or 2. It's not like a normal pub where people want to settle down for a few drinks of quality ale. GPT - "One Thistle" guys are the people delivering, maybe you can have a word with them. I bet 30 mins of your time would bring dividends which would last a long time for the bar.
-
TT - great pictures. I'm still checking back at them this morning even though I checked them about 5 times yesterday.
I hope games like this make it all worth while for great servants like yourself. Your efforts are appreciated.
