  1. Can the loss of the third and fourth goals today really be attributed to the appearance of Elliott and/or Craigen? Did they make any errors that led to the goals? Did they give the ball away? Fail to get in a crucial tackle? How come we lost those goals?

They chased shadows, couldn't keep the ball and offered no attacking threat at all.

  2. Even if archie keeps us up through the play-offs. I'd can him for someone with experience. Hes not learning at all, 18 points dropped from winning positions I heard them say on radio clyde. Someone with a track record at this level or down south.

  3. Cheers to Christie Elliott for the two goals against Airdrie, but he is hopeless and continually plays even ahead of Lawless who has contributed good stuff at times. Same for Craigen, don't rate him at all. The change in team bringing those two on for Erskine and Higginbotham was drastically poor.

  4. Still believe Archie deserves the season, but relegation back to the 1st division would set the club on another long period in the lower leagues. There is no chance we'd win promotion from that league next year.

League is very poor, and the home form lately simply unacceptable. The league Lambie kept us up in was one with a strong old firm, and the rest of the clubs spending decent money compared to this watered down imitation with no Rangers, Hearts broke and the majority of others living within their means.

  5. People need to realise that even if we finish 12th Archie wont be sacked, the club are looking at him as long term.

Its clearly not going to happen we finish 12th anyway.

If we are to ask questions it should be at the board if they cant provide funds when they have scuppered good fundraising ideas such as the dvd and TAG.

Im surprised Killies Manager is not under more pressure, the only reason they have the likes of Boyd is because despite being £9 million in debt they are throwing money at players. If anything Derek Adams should be under the most pressure the only reason Ross County are going to be saved is because they really are throwing vast amounts of money to get players in. In both these cases its not Adams or Johnsons ability to keep them up but that both these clubs are spending ridiculous amounts to survive - which for whatever reason we simply cant compete with

If the long term ambition of the club is signing St. Mirren scrubs and failing to stay up in a league as weak as it ever has been, and you could almost say the same for the league below with Dumbarton in a play off spot, then they can shove it. Theres nothing worth buying into.

Plenty of time for the management team, the players and the board to change that though...

  6. Not acceptable at all. Really wondering if Archie has the ability to effectively change the tactics. No vocal leaders or motivators in the team. No idea who was "captain" today but nobody speaks or makes an effort to organise the team on the park. Fell to bits at the end, nobody was moving and we were just kicking the ball anywhere.

Squad just isn't good enough either. Conrad is hopelessly out his depth at this level.Christie I'm not even sure would start for some first division teams. Conrad wasn't even under a lot of pressure today and just looked so nervy and cumbersome with loose balls or any time the ball was in the air. Not sure with Mair yet, but is St. Mirren rejects basically all we can afford? Thats why we've spent years doing nothing in the lower leagues, no ambition at all.

    Gallacher done well right enough.

Not acceptable Archie. No home wins in a really poor league. No Rangers, Hearts a mess, a terrible Killie team etc....

  7. Tidser was one of Morton's best players last season but his move is not why they are struggling this season. They also lost Bachriou (one of the league's best players), McDonald (top scorer) and Hardie (did have some great games and scored). Also there have clearly been behind the scenes issues at Cappielow this season.

You say we will never be established in the top flight as we can't compete with similar clubs. I don't agree. We have potentially a larger support along with initiatives such as free U-16, we are managing and reducing our debt, we have the Weir set-up and we have a young management and team. I am not saying we are perfect or the finished article but it is silly to say we will never be established in the top flight again.

Also, when did Archie say he wanted Tidser? Apologies if I missed his press statements naming Tidser as a target but, as far as I am aware, it was just a rumour. So why is this causing such panic?!

Edited to add... County finished 5th last season which meant they got a relatively large cash sum for final league position. This may explain or partly explain the cash flying around Dingwall just now.

Bachirou is still there, Hardie is flopping a division below, McDonald is doing okay granted, and the behind the scenes stuff only exists because the team is struggling, they spent a lot of money in the summer again and during the early months on Novo and Reid, like they often do.

Thistle don't even run hospitality every match, well they didn't last season, or the season before. Ross County have executive boxes and corporate suites running the length of two stands full nigh on every game. They have one other team to compete with in terms of local businesses wanting to advertise and entertain their clients and employees, we have an unbelievable amount of other clubs on our doorstep in comparison never mind the Old Firm. They have a wealthy owner with a lot of property hes willing to let his football team's players live in for next to nothing.

Its sort of correlates why St. Johnstone do fine despite their crowds, a demand for corporate and hospitality facilities with little competition in that area.

Where are we training this year? Jumping on the back of the minibus everyday still to find an empty patch of grass?

Kilmarnock might be ladden with debt but they have a matchday sports bar and a hotel that bring in a decent amount of money outside of the gate receipts.

The club needs to be run more like a business, gone are the days you could rely on having a decent number of fans paying on the day. Just look at English football too. If it was all down to who has the best attendances Wigan would never have survived in the Premiership for as long as they did, Fulham would be long gone and Leeds United would still be in Europe every year.

  8. Ross County players get virtually rent free accomodation living in property owned by the chairman.

Tidser is a very good player, only have to look at how crap Morton are doing without him in a piss poor league with 3 part-time teams.

This is why we'll never establish in this league again. We can't compete with bottom feeders like Ross County, even though potentially we have a much bigger support. Their infrastructure is exceptionally better. Better training facilities, bring in a fortune in hospitality on a matchday before you even get to the chairman. They have a director of football, says it all about the difference really between the clubs.

  9. makes me think where is the progress getting tonked off a team like that. so mentally weak. first goal was so amateur. gabriel didn't have his worst game but still looks crap. bannigan has been shit for too long. still scratching my head at the muirhead for bannigan sub at that point in the game. bunnet esque. could really do with a thompson type player. a proper clinical striker. Need probably one or two players with a track record in the window or we're risking going back to the diddy leagues and 2000 crowds against livingston etc. no more kids on loan or unproven guys at this level.

referee was abysmal too. wee fat useless prick.

  10. I'm not sure if this has been covered. I have a season ticket and my son doesn't. I'm sure I read I'll have to sit in that seat and I've no option unless buying an extra ticket, its all season ticket holders around me and I won't be able to sit next to him then. Is this true?

  11. The S&G and Munns are both good thistle pubs with good staff who make an effort.

the woody is lagging behind tho, had enough after the morton game when people were told to stop singing while singing is embraced in the s&g, and its just becoming more and more full of neds.

  12. Damp squib. Crowd was poor even with it being midweek I thought, we started poor then once we got going we couldn't break Raith down. I've no idea why Raith were timewasting so much, it was embarrassing, the result was meaningless for them, you'd think they were defending a 1-0 lead and fighting for their lives no wonder about 50 of them turned up.

  13. Best night at Firhill for many a year, great spirit amongst the team. Morton were very poor. personally bit disappointed in myself for getting involved in some of the tit for tat verbal with their fans at the end as I came out the JH and walked up past the main stand when theres kids and families, but there you go heat of the moment and that, a load of handbags.

  14. Higgins made it look worse than it was, i've seen comparisons to Zidane, pfft.

If it happened in the street Higgins would have been laughed at for lying motionless on the floor like that, he went done because he knew of the advantage. Why should he get away with unsportsmanlike conduct?

  15. Funny, having watched the videos since I noticed a lot of the people on the pitch were infact young fans, in no danger at all, a big hurrah about nothing from knicker wetters. Ruined family club rep, hahaha, aye good one

  16. Great to finally read a sensible opinion online.

The vast majority of stuff i read over the weekend has verged on disgusting personal abuse.

The fact is we have a squad who are in this together and if any of them including Murray read some of the shite thats been posted on here/facebook/twitter then i can't imagine it had anything like a positive effect on their moral going into the remainder of the season.

Lets not forget, we have a lot of players with contracts running out in the summer, how many want to be part of a club who's fans base take to the internet to start threads akin to a witch hunt.

It seems it was all to easy to forget that saturday may well have been our best away result of the season taking a point at the table toppers. Folk seem to have glossed over the fact that Murray and Paton bossing the middle of the park resulted in them having to punt long balls neither of their central midfielders could get a second on the ball.

I'm quite sure Murray took a pasting from his colleagues after the game, and saturday night must have been spent head in hands. But come this morning, he'll be taking a ribbing from the players, made to wear some daft suit at training and from that moment it will be forgot about as they will move on. A positive attitude from everyone Club, Players and Fans is what is required to see us win this league. If that happens and the fans are behind every single player then we as fans can stand proud and know that we were part of it. In it together.

However, sitting behind keyboards calling a player a pr*ck and threatening never to return to Firhill if he plays again? i just don't see what benefit that serves. Folk in twitter and facebook, some stuff spouted was embarressing and folk were quite happy to post streams of bile content in the knowledge that players follow their tweets etc. i can't believe one player looked at what was said and thought, exactly, the fans get it, i'm never playing for the club again whilst he's here.

So one person makes a daft post and you want to lump everyone in there because they criticised your favourite player?
