Times have changed in the last 15 years. Cooking programmes are all the rage, ISIS is on the rise and I’ve developed copious amounts of pubic hair. One thing remains a constant though, you’re trolling. Okay then. Have it your way. Let’s go back to all sitting in the Jackie Husband stand. No atmosphere, even lower crowds than you pertain about the North Stand and a soulless match day experience. I remember the last few games of when I sat in the Jackie Husband stand, the season. There were around 6 or 7 people attempting to get any sort of resemblance of a song going but to no avail. Thankfully, a courageous decision as made to save the atmosphere in Firhill. The move to the North Stand, as stated, wasn’t designed to increase attendances as such. Rather, it was decided the move was a last ditch attempt to increase the atmosphere at a stadium which was on its arse. The first game where around 150-200 attended the North Stand completely blows your theory about it being a failed exercise out of the water. Even with the low attendance in the stand, it felt like it was full with the raucous and continuous singing that glorious August summers day. There was a glorious moment when a Falkirk fan phoned ‘Call Kaye’ (of former Loose Woman fame) on Radio Scotland the following Monday morning to complain about the ‘intimidating’ atmosphere that she, her son, and her fellow Bairns fans had experienced that weekend. There were even NEW songs created that day! By golly! Now whether or not one would agree with the haranguing of away supporters at Firhill, I think it’s safe to say that there had been significant change in the noise volumes from myself and the throngs of the Maryhill Margaritas faithful behind the goal. This continued throughout the rest of the season. The 5-1 Dunfermline game showed a massive increase of fans in the North Stand but more crucially the atmosphere kept getting better and better. Raith Rovers (3-2), Livi (6-1, where some Welsh fans even joined us!) and even the Morton game where we got beat 2-1 around boxing day were incredible times to be in the North Stand. I could keep going on. So I will sister! Who will ever forget the night James Craigan put Morton to the sword? The hundreds of fans streaming from the Jackie Husband stand to the North Stand was a site to behold. It was one of THE great nights to be a Thistle fan. Could you honestly dispute that it would have been the same if the North Stand hadn’t been opened to the home support? As previous people have mentioned, you offer no solution to your bizarre queries. You go on and on about the costs of having the stand open without giving us any concrete figures to back up your ‘concerns’. How about, just for a moment, counting the costs of the amount of fans that would stop going back to Firhill if the North Stand was to be closed? I would be one and I’m sure there would be many others. We have a dwindling, beleaguered support as it is. Stop creating a pseudo civil ware between Thistle fans and get on board with suggestions of improving the atmosphere even further? Hey, this might even lead to more fans attending Firhill! What’s ‘pitiful’ is someone who couldn’t even be bothered attending the game having a go at other Jags fans who did. Your posts are like the Stereophonics, outdated and pointless.

So there I am. Sitting on the bus, it's around twenty to 9 in the morning and I've just set off for another day at work. I don't get the 62 or the 66 from Yoker to the city centre. No, I always get one of the buses that jump on the express way instead of carrying on through the barbaric traffic on Dumbarton Road (usually numbered 1 to 1E for those of you who get stiffy's about that sort of stuff) and the journey is going quite pleasantly. Should I listen to some music? Aye, I think I will. There's a mad jakey who's just got on the stop near McNabbs (McStabbs) in Scotstoun and he's proclaiming that he needs 'an all week ticket'; I'm not in the mood to listen to his argument with the tired (but more than capable of standing his own ground) bus driver. I love the part when you get onto the express after the last of Dumbarton Road stops, especially on a sunny morning like this. Except...this isn't a normal morning! I glimpse the window to my right out to see a billboard advertisement for a TV company's coverage of the Scottish Premiership. All the teams are displayed through their badges. All nice and and distinctive; displaying each teams colours clearly. Except ours. Sitting there alongside all the other badges, it has the look of a worn out testicle suffering from the early remnants of impending alopecia. One barely notices the red and yellow stripes going through and it's blandness strikes a chord of a time when we had clueless eejits on the board who went ahead with changing our badge without consultation of the Partick Thistle Universe (#PartickThistleUniverse). So that's why I'm saying, let's reclaim our badge! That's why I urge everyone to Vote YES for an independent Scotland on Septem ... oops went off course there. Reclaim our badge! I propose a petition to bring back 'DAS UBER BOMBER' badge from the 90's. A badge that was cruelly robbed from a board who thought they knew better. Let us put our current badge the sword. Thought it would be. You'll not have to worry about that when people stop going to games if we're moved to the Main Stand.

Except you're not really sharing information, are you? You've posted on here stating that you've received a phone call from Ian Maxwell (you're the only fan that seems to have received a phone call about this as well) and then proceeded to not tell us any specific details about it. What next? Are you going to have a conversation with Jim Slavin on Skype? Tell us about a gap year you took with Dmytro Pronevych?

We won't be behind the dugout though, look at the seating plan that the board have proposed. Why would fans want to stop drinking in pubs like the Star or the Woody to go to the Aitken Suite? Because of the new furniture? Because of Sky Sports? Get real, it's a half arsed and condescending attempt to get the Jags fans on board.

I've sent another email just there: Hi again. I’m writing to you as a follow up regarding my email yesterday (season ticket customer number - 100800000340) about the fact that I won’t be renewing my season ticket next season if we, as a support, are moved from the North Stand. In fact, I may not be back at Firhill at all now because of the complete lack of respect you’ve shown to the Thistle supporters on this matter. I regret to inform you of my decision as I’ve been a stalwart at Firhill since 1995 but I feel so strongly on this issue and feel that I’ve got no other way to get the message through to you. After all, Partick Thistle Football Club is NOTHING without the fans. I therefore reiterate and urge that you reverse your decision to relocate the Thistle support from the North Stand to the Main Stand as soon as possible. If this is done, I’ll be happy to reconsider my position. As for your ludicrous, patronising and deceitful statement on the official website; it would be so easy to pick it apart piece by piece, however, I think the final sentence sums up how ridiculous the whole statement is, 'Remember, it’s the fans that make the atmosphere – not where they sit in the stadium.' Oh really? Well, what was the point in moving us to the North Stand in the first place? I hardly expect you to reply to myself or to any of the other many supporters who have emailed and who will be emailing you on this, given how out of touch you seem to be with the Thistle support but I believe this is a pivotal moment for a lot of Thistle fans relationship with the board and Partick Thistle Football club as a whole. The most alarming things LMJ's brief appearance was her screaming and chanting about Denis Connaghan's contribution this season and how he should at least be given a coaching role for next season. We were all just looking at each other saying, 'He left years ago!' but she just stared at us with bemusement and continued to proceed to the bar and order a 'warm Newcastle Brown' with a bowl of spiders.
