  1. They didn't want to switch venues as it would have meant us going to Celtic Park at New years again same as last year
  2. Well you may have a fellow jag soon, thinking of heading to adelaide!
  3. Well after leaving home i have now ended up in Perth.........Australia! anyone in that neck of the woods? also any other aus jags get in touch, may well be touring the country!
  4. Boyle wouldnt be such a bad addition, think about it, he played left centre back in a back three and he was quick and could put in a tackle, frees up Sinky to do his stuff while having a bit of cover there for left wing back as well as Lindsay
  5. HJ Dont think it was me that the annoucement was about, havent set a date for going yet! but most likely before the end of this season. Think I will by pass going to Perth as getting from there to anywhere else in Aus might be a fairly long journey! But you never know what might happen in a year!. Yeah my cousin is over there and told me that thongs are meant to be flip flops, I was in the pub when she told me so imagine my utter confusion!
  6. As the title suggests I am off out of here for a year, but need some advice either from people who have done the travelling thing on what are the dos and donts kind of thing and the pople who are in Oz on what I should do when I'm over there.
  7. Its either that or........because of the queues at the Thistle end they decided to get in before kick-off?
  8. I get that, I just dont think it would work, and your suggestion was based on him playing a reserve game or u18 game at centre mid. I was merely pointing out also that without Hutton we still have plenty of options for the midfield without trying a left back in there
  9. Bannigan played midfield more than once for Ayr and done that good he was brought back once his loan had ended. Im not saying that either is a bad player but Lindsay for midfield? Nah we ave enough cover there with Cairney, Rowser, Paton, Bannigan, MacBeth, Erskine, O'Donnell
  10. We have seen Lindsay play up at Hamilton in the cup, for me not as good a left back as Aaron, solid enough yes but not good enough to dislodge Aaron just yet. Play him in his best position and see what he does, not play him in a role that he either hasnt played or hasnt played in a while. And how many senior appearances had linsay made for Saints?
  11. Linsay, a left back or centre half, could do a job based on a few of your mates who are sainst fans? on what basis is that!! He only played reserve level, yet a player who helped a team get promoted from 1 league below us, your writing him off?
  12. So everyone thinks it was Conrad that sold the goal against Culter? Really? I witnessed their umber 2 come forward twice in the first half. Cairney just stood back and let him go past him, yes he scored the goal but he was terrible apart from that! Conrad slipped yes, but we all saw the park it was sh*t even Messi would of slipped on that park. To me it wass Cairneys inability to close down the right back that led to the goal
  13. I maybe the only one, looking at this thread anyway, that thought Paton was pretty good at centre half on saturday. He isnt the biggest but he rarely lost the ball on the deck, I seen him track his man from the right side to the left in the second half and stuck a tackle in, using his LEFT foot. Now those who sit round about me know about my feelings about Paton, that he doesnt go past his man and I wish he would use his left foot more, but that aside he is solid defensively and with some guidance can make a very good player for us, but I feel we are his level.
  14. I can tell you that the lad in question, while sometimes being drunk at games, has never been arrested or thrown out at any Thistle game in the past. Trust me on that one. His lifestyle may be in question but never has he been thrown out and regularly drives to games if its the only way he can get there.
  15. 'The Cup' why do you seem to want to defend him at every chance? He HAD good potenial when D&G were managers, but did he fullfil it? No he didn't. Adam himself always said he preferred to play on the left and to cut in, this wasn't his best position though as he had no left foot. The best thing he ever done with his left foot was a cross for Roberts to score in the 5-2(?) win up in Dingwall. Apart from that really struggling to find anything else that good to merit your praise. Outwith the game he was a nugget. Lived in Maryhill but couldn't hack it with they neds so ended up with those 'terrorising' Milingavie and Bearsden, the hard places that they are!
