We were in 3rd place prior to the last game, so we only dropped one spot.
But if we had won instead of drawing, we would have been second instead of fourth

No one has scored a hat-trick for Thistle in 9 years! There were 4 of them in 1989
Brian Graham v Dunfermline in February scored a perfectly good hat-trick

Disappointed not to win having led for so long, but every point helps. I think we are now 6 points from the playoffs after Morton losing.

not sure but pretty sure I have 100% win rate every time I start vs Ayr Utd match thread so was standing down until the play offs.
That said I could be talking bollocks.
As for this thread, a day early, a debutant starting it and getting called Partick. @Dick Dastardly will be breaking out in hives 😂
As for match itself going for 1-0 to Storm Kathleen.
Don’t worry. I won’t be looking anywhere near this thread until 5 minutes before ko
Drat !

Looks like all you have to do is start a thread about how quiet it is and suddenly everyone wants their say

This week and last week, not so many new posts on any topic.
Is that because most people expect us just to qualify for the playoffs (again) and then fail to win promotion (again)? Or is there some other reason?
Of course, people may have lives outwith the forum!
I don't (well, not so much!).
We won the last few games. This place is far more lively on the back of a defeat or 3.

Would you rotate the normal first 11 if all available? Unfortunately most of the rest of the squad assembled aren’t good enough as first choice
Taking a lead from Rugby, and South Africa, don’t start their strongest 15, but make sure that they are on at the end when the other team tires or has weaker players on, it might be worth an experiment. Admittedly they do have more subs available in rugby and the subs are probably closer to the first choice, but it might be interesting to know what Fitz,Stevie and BBG could do coming on together after 50 or 60 minutes

Awful performance today. But we won. Looked like we had 9 men second half!
9 more games just like that and we are promoted.

Another 3 points.
We now can’t be relegated
9 points needed to be assured a playoff
Nothing else to be said

I think to be sure we need 12. 11 and we might rely on goal difference. Doubt we will need that many
-
By my calculation that takes us 1 point closer to a playoff before we’ve even played

Indeed, I think we’d all like to see James succeed at Firhill. Perhaps still needs to work on the physical side of the game, and pressing and shutting down when we don’t have possession. But there’s a talent there to be nurtured. He’s got a great touch and an eye for goal. Perhaps our close season transfer activity may create more of a midfield balance to accommodate his potential
Might be a step too far for James when we are in the Premiership next season
edit to add …. Perhaps we could loan him to United or Aberdeen for a season in the Championship to see how he gets on.

Maybe less as those below have some games to play each other
Actually it is more. Morton can get to 58 if they win all their games, so we need 13. Airdrie can get to 60 even if Morton beat them.

3 points on the road and a long awaited clean sheet plus for the statto’s amongst us it is now mathematically impossible to finish bottom of league
10 points from 6 games to guarantee playoffs

Arbroath had a few dangerous attacks early on, and Mitchell made a good save. Thistle gradually got on top. Some great Lawless McMillan moves, and McBeth again outstanding at the back.
Excellent run and shot from Fitzy for the goal, but celebration seemed a bit delayed. Were there some deflections along the way?
1-0 at halftime is fair reflection of the play. Game certainly not over yet. Would like to see another goal or three.
Why stop at 3 ?

Sorry if it’s not PC, but I would add that the game at Gayfield is far more important than any kick about at Tynecastle

would take a point tbh.
From the team rock bottom of the league we have to be more ambitious than that. A win should be the only acceptable result.

You know you should have gone with the latter one. In my opinion both are at least a day too early

Thought McInroy, Robinson, MC Beth, were outstanding today, for someone who was playing Junior football 2/ 3 months ago MC Beth has been a real find, one of Doolans best.. How many others are out there...???????
I think you just mentioned McInroy and Robinson in your own post 🤷♂️

To the posters who picked up parking tickets last night, Morton are almost 3/1 to win on Sat so good way to get fines paid off quickly.
Hope nobody took your advice. Never rely on the Jags for any bets.

With the championship likely to be stronger next year with Falkirk coming up is anyone else becoming very worried about fighting relegation next year
Not if we are relegated this year

Never understood spending some of the budget on Alston, Macdonald and Williamson. Waste of money. We then sign a goalie as cover they obviously dont rate the lad McCready. Reminds me of Archies recruitment.
I think it better that Mason gets some game time with Spartans to develop rather than sitting on the bench for us. He is one that might still come through and is contracted to 2025. For next year I would like to see Mason and another up and coming keeper backing up one experienced keeper and not any of the current batch who are proven to be not good enough.
I didn’t know that Mason’s dad won a Super Bowl for the Patriots in 2001.
