  1. guy,s it said on the honest page< ayr united forum that tam mcmanus could be joining thistle? what do you think, just rumour?

6 goals in 18 games in a struggling ayr side according to the ayr site, at least we have been creating chances in the games we have lost, drawn or lost, he might have been on hand to bury a few. maybe if we would have got him instead of jim hamilton or lovell we would have finished higher up the league....who knows. he'll probably turn out to be a simon lynch where we could have got him but decide not to then he scores against us!

  2. Just a quick one on your last point there about a decent away day friendly. I asked this on the old forum. Im sure we would all accept an away day similar to Lancaster a few years ago yeah? Im not sure how it would cost us more to play Lancaster away in a friendly or , for example, Montrose away. The players could go up and down in a day as its not far over the border. Therefore the only real cost is that of a coach but surely the difference in hiring a coach to Montrose or to Lancaster cant be that much? Maybe someone who knows more about coach prices can put me in my place?

yeah I remember someone saying it can't cost that much more than going to montrose for example. I cant see us playing stirling as they are coming up, we'll play QP, clyde, maybe an english team or two, wouldn't mind a 'friendly' against one of the OF at firhill to be honest. is there a possibility of being that skint that al our friendlies are at home?

  3. Glad you came back after your self imposed exile. Given what you missed not many could blame you staying away.

Find it quite interesting to read your opinion of certain players from someone who's missed the last 14 or so matches.

i've not been since the 4-1 game against dunfermline either, was going to go yesterday but a guy from ebay was coming to buy my drums so couldnt get to the game in time, we were absolute torcher and I think we have won about 3 of those 14 games you refer to, my opinion hasnt changed of the shecht players we have, everyones after match comments on the forum sum up that apart from rowser and JT everyone has been consistently pish!

  4. noticed a post earlier about john baird at airdrie moving to raith, i take it McCall has enquired about signing him aswell then aye? was McCall asking the fans at the MTMN who we suggest we sign or something?

anyone who thinks we will sign deuchar or mcmenamin must be on drugs. skelton wouldnt be the worst signing, scored a few goals wi gretna at this level but if he can't get a game in that killie team then who knows.

can see a long uneventful summer though, not much to look forward to, the odd lower division signing, nae money for a decent away day friendly

  5. I dont know how other people feel about this but I think McCall is looking to much to the future in terms of siginings. E.g. Grehan is a player for the future, Erskine is a player for the future, when Hodge was signed Mccall said that he was a player who would come good in the future.

I say we need decent signings who are playing at there peak, and not players who may/may not come good after a few years. In my opinion the youth system is to be used to develop future talent and not the first team.

add to that mcnamara, hamilton, shields and corrigan being ones for the future aswell,
