Cant remember how much my first one cost, but it was carved in stone.:thumbsup2: Anybody remember a paper mag we sold in the early seventies, think it was called Jags Mag ?

The Jags Mag must have contained a fair share of diddies down the years!

The squad does look it has a nice balance to it. No obvious positional gaps or lack of cover and plenty of formation options. The average age of the squad looks like its also came down significantly.

However one of the big plus points is I think for the first time in quite a few seasons we don't have any jobbers. Only Cardle, Foster and Graham are over 30 and none of them to my mind are in the jobbing category, they all look like leaders. I expect Foster and Graham in particular to demand standards are met by the younger players.

    Ominous optimism

There might not be any jobbers but there is a jobby in the dugout.

  3. I wonder if we might be looking at Rohan Ferguson, he was previously at Airdrie and Motherwell then was on loan at Linfield last season, he played in the Europa qualifiers and ended up winning the league. Might be good competition for Sneddon? He’s 22 and according to Wiki is 6 foot 1.

Just had a chat with Ian McCall at GWR....

we missed out on a centre back who went to Dundee

not easy getting the players he wants

looking for 5/6 additions : goalkeeper, 2 defenders, a midfielder and a striker

the goal is to win the league and then the championship !

Lee Ashcroft signed with them earlier in July so I suppose it was him.

  5. I wonder what will happen with the chairmen of the clubs who voted against us coming to Firhill, I’d love it if we told them to GTF or anyone outside the playing or coaching staff had to pay in as they have cost us money with relegating us. Knowing our board, we’ll probably invite them right in for tea and scrumpets!

  6. So how many players who are self isolating from one team will it take to postpone a game?  I doubt if this was County or Hamilton at Ibrox or Parkhead tomorrow the game would’ve been called off. Funny how we had a game in hand because ICT stayed in the cup , the league gets called due to Covid 19 and get relegated and now Dons players cause a game to be postponed and it’s just re-arranged, they should be docked the points.

  7. No-one was calling for 5 subs before the pandemic and now they vote to change it, no-one was calling for reconstruction before the pandemic and they refuse it and shaft us. I hope the lot of them go bust and liquidate.

Name dropping alert, number 2. In September 2009 Robert junior, Eunice and myself went to see Coldplay at Hampden. Before the concert we got to meet Coldplay and we spent about 15 minutes talking to the band members and getting a number of great photographs with them. My wife and i was never the biggest fans of them, but Robert was and it was one of the many great experiences we had as a family, and my wife and i will always remember how great the band were to give up time before a big concert. This was all arranged by a charity for young adults with life limiting conditions. The charity was started by ex Arsenal and Scotland keeper Bob Wilson, who lost his daughter.

You sure the gig was at Hampden and not at Para, Para, Paradise?

  9. What does it say on McCall’s whiteboard behind him? Looks like it has ‘ Target- 2 goalkeepers, 19 outfield players?

I wonder if more players will be shipped out when furlough ends? the likes of Jones, Saunders, Gordon, Mansell?

  10. I’m wanting 442 this season, see if we have 2 holding midfielders and and one guy up himself it will be brutal. Lyons looks like a tricky winger so get a bit of width in the team, if we still have BG and ZR then we should be playing them both. I still think we need a better keeper if we want to win this league.

Jamie Adams, Conrad Balatoni and Ryan McGowan were worthy loan signings by McCall.

Can't honestly remember if it was under McCall, but I remember Derek Collins being a particularly handy loan signing from Hibs.

Collins was in the  2000/2001 season, I think that was the season Lambie won the second division?
