  1. Its not even August and already we have went to the biggest tabloid in the country claiming we need more fans to come forward to sponsor the player's shirts - Filed under the Daily Record's Soccer Shorts section.

Its time the club cleared the picture full-stop. Forget all these smoke-screens and bull shit press, what is the bottom line? We can't sign one single player due to the clubs finances, we're already scrapping the barrell with the player sponsorship and a ball hasn't been kicked. How about one of the Club's hierarchy cut the crap once and for all and tell us what the BoD's plans are to stabilise the club finances and help put a competitive team out the park for the next 5-10 years and beyond. How about some re-assurance for the fans who dip their money and their hearts into the club year in and out. How about the fans are told in no un-certain terms the impact that the debt will have on the club today and in the future years, none of this "ooh money is tight, but we're confident we can provide Ian/Manager X with a competitive budget".

Maybe these guys could also tell us what they offer PTFC as individuals.

Is this today's (Friday's) Daily Record as I am looking at Soccer Shorts on page 66 and there is nothing about Thistle in it?

  2. It appears that ICT did not know the rules either, the whole things just seems like FIFA/UEFA making rules for the sake of it. What difference does it make if a player is 23 in the season when he moves clubs - how does one team not receiving compensation make football better

  3. Cashflow is the main problem but the Board of Directors could find the cash personally until the season ticket cash comes. Tuffey is finding it hard to find a club and perhaps there is a chance that he might re-sign.

Judging by his comments after the game the manager hopes to make a couple of signings next week, probably after the Dumbarton friendly I would imagine:

  4. Nice to win but the main thing is players getting match fitness and avoiding injuries. Although he has been told he can leave Boyle is really the only natural left sided fullback at the moment so I was pleased to read that he played a role in the third goal - how was his general play apart from that?

  5. Just back from Firhill with my season ticket and home top. Arrived at about 10.45 and the players were just boarding the bus, went through to the Aitken Suite and collected my ticket then to the club shop to purchase the new top.

Even at that early time it was quite busy with people getting their tickets and buying tops. In terms of the season tickets these are the discount vouchers:

£5 off home top (valid to 31/07/10 so get in quick)

10% off all Puma Products in October

10% off all PTFC leisure & training wear (offer ends 30/11/10)

    Mystery Greaves Voucher -TBA

15% off Apex Hotel stay in London, Edinburgh & Dundee if booked 28 days in advance (valid until May 2011).

Citroen Glasgow - MOT for £19.99, Service & MOT for £69.99

Glasgow Warriors - Free entry to 1872 Cup match versus Edinburgh (must apply for ticket by 31st October).

Caulders - Free cup of coffee or tea (valid until 30th May 2011), 10% off plants (until 30th May 2011) & 10% off real Christmas tree (December 2010).

For anyone who was unsure about the top - it really is excellent! The red is red not orangey as some have worried about and I think it will be a big seller.

  6. It seems to me looking at what is taking place across the division that all of the clubs are taking a broadly similar approach - small squad of recognised first team players to be supplemented by youth players. There has been some negativity about our squad but I think that is based on what is most fresh in people's minds which is the second half of the season. However if we cast our minds back to the first half of the season we were playing well most weeks and scoring was not too much of a problem so we need to replicate that and then hope that we avoid the loss of form that most of the squad suffered after Christmas.

  7. The total is now £119.58 as of 24/06/10, this means that in the week since the last update 252 searches have been made which benefit the Trust. Once again we would like to thank everyone who uses this facility to support the Trust and encourage others to give it a try - it doesn't cost you anything and the Trust benefits :thumbsup2:

  8. As of 03/06/10 the total is £115.39 - a total of £1.50 was raised during the week since the last update so if we can keep up that level the Trust would benefit to the tune of £78 per year. Although this doesn't sound like a huge amount it does help us with running costs so that the money we raise through other ventures can be directed to things like community initiatives.

Thanks for your continued support :thumbsup2:
