Not to totally divert this tread from the actual game on Saturday but don't want to start another thread on this, both games I have been to so far at home we have not needed the floodlights on but I do recall last season there was talk about needing to upgade them and we were looking for some assistance from the SFA with this but it would still be around £100K needed from the club. Has anything happened in that regard or will we just turn up the brightness on the big television?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. All I would say is that Wilson has stated he does not like the dealing with agents/etc part of the game and really just wants to focus on the coaching element so that needs to be taken in to account.

I do wonder if we had not lost the late goal against ICT and then Samuel scores in the 3rd minute against QP and we get the victory if we are even mentioning Ian Baraclough at the moment? Personally I think it is a good thing having a Sporting Director but it actually does not matter what I think, it comes down to what works best for the head coach in terms of the first team (remembering that the sporting director also has the youth & womens team in his remit).

Agree that the set pieces were not that good against Queens Park which was strange as they were being praised earlier in the season.

Not exactly, we have scouts (unpaid) down south so I am sure we will have looked at some players from there but for whatever reason they have not signed. We seem to have become focussed on recruitment as a discussion point on the back of two league draws, I don't recall it being such a hot topic during last season with the same people involved. Also, recruitement is just one part of the sporting director's remit.

Short answer - yes. Slightly longer answer - prior to the sporting director's appointment we signed players from down south on a regular basis with little to no success (Charlie Sayers, Casper Nilson, Terry Ablade, etc). It could have been a strategic decision between Barraclough and Wilson that we were going to focus on a more "tried and tested" route. The recent focus seems to be who we have not signed but if I could ask a question it would be - if we were doing "jukebox jury" on signings made since Wilson was appointed who has been a miss? I would say just Sean McArdle.
