Lets hope tomorrow, as it is the Grand National as well, we can be the dark horse going in to the home stretch.
-
I think we will go with our strongest team until it is not possible to win the title plus there are targets Wilson will probably want to achieve like being unbeaten at home in the league and getting a win against Arbroath (the only team in the league we have not beaten). It will be interesting to see how the squad gets managed as there is the case for resting players but if we do finish second there will be a little break before we play the semis anyway and players have said in the past that they prefer having games with a quick turn around rather training. There is a Glasgow Cup game against Celtic on Tuesday night so will be interesting to see if Watt and/or MacKay-Steven play in this. Also, saw this and even just for the lad on a personal level hope he might get some time on the pitch before the season finishes. https://x.com/ptfcupdates/status/2042339592817328413?s=46

Partick Thistle Women - Season 25/26
Fawlty Towers replied to Fawlty Towers's topic in Main Jags forum
Our next 2 games have both been moved for television so we play Glasgow City at home on Friday the 24th then are away to Hearts on Tuesday the 28th. There is no game this weekend as the national team have a double header coming up. There is a race night at Petershill on Friday the 17th: https://ptfc.co.uk/product/ptw-race-night/ -
1 week until this month's draw is made with a jackpot of £11,000 but you have to be in it to win it: https://partickthistlefc.clubforce.com/products/lotto/partick-thistle-football-club-lotto Good Luck!

Whilst I have always had a prompt reply when contacting TJF directly I was thinking more in terms of general communication with the membership. For example, when it became clear to TJF that the responses to the AGM questions were not going to be available for a bit an e-mail to say that would have been, in my opinion, a good idea. Also, just looking at March and there was not the usual monthly update. I apologise if the impression was given that I was been overly critical and TJF has probably made a rod for its own back by setting a high bar for itself.

It has been an issue at club level for a few seasons now but normally TJF are quite good - seems to have been an issue though this season.

Just a reminder that there is a Race Night being held at Petershill on Friday the 17th to raise funds for the womens team. https://ptfc.co.uk/product/ptw-race-night/ -
I feel confident based on this season in Baraclough and Wilson doing the football side of things but less so in the other areas like Commercial, Finance & Communication.
-
At the risk of repeating myself, there is so much good stuff on the pitch at the moment with the first team still in with a chance of winning the division, the under 19s currently top of their table, the under 17s sitting 3rd in theirs and the womens team back in the top 6. However, this season has been terrible in terms of communication and that is from both the club and TJF. I don't know if it is down to the large turnover in people within both groups but something has just not felt right this season and it needs to improve moving forward.
-
Having now had the Q&A it would be good if the strategic plan was published quickly so we can see both what is in it and how it is to be achieved.

The post AGM Q&A is now available: https://thejagsfoundation.co.uk/club-agm-february-2026-qa-responses/

Can't remember what the situation was last season to be honest but take the point about the surprise element.

Partick Thistle Women - Season 25/26

It looks like a lot of hard work has been put in on the training ground to make us much more difficult to play against. Hopefully next season we have Cara Henderson back as her goals have been missed. No game now until Friday the 24th when we are at home to Glasgow City because of the upcoming internationals. There is however the Race Night at Petershill on the 17th: https://ptfc.co.uk/product/ptw-race-night/ -
It is Ben Stanway for Player and Young Player of the Season from TJF: https://thejagsfoundation.co.uk/tjf-poty-and-young-poty-2025-26-the-results/ Still places available at the event as well: https://ptfc.co.uk/product/partick-thistle-2025-26-player-of-the-year-awards-tickets/

At this point I would take just getting the Q&A published. But with regard to ringfencing funds it is not something I am against but as you say it needs to be something people can look at and say "I contributed to that". At the moment the first thing that springs to minds is the floodlights - if I recall correctly at the last Q&A with the Board we were applying for a grant from the SFA but still needed to contribute around £100K so that could be an option.

An excellent away point against Hibs today It definitely looks like we are becoming harder to beat so all credit to the manager and players. Reminder about the Race Night on the 17th to raise funds: https://ptfc.co.uk/product/ptw-race-night/ -
In the Queens Park game yes it went from 2-0 at the point of the red card to 2-2. The Arbroath game was 0-0 and stayed 0-0 and in the Scottish Cup it was 2-0 and finished 3-1. I will leave it to the stats people to decide but I don't class yesterday the same as the QP game - it was level when we wen't down to 10 men and the game finished level. My point was simply that in the past we have seen teams that have had a red card and crumbled which has not been the case this season.
-
Not looking to steal Thistle Archive's thunder but I reckon that is the 4th red card we have had this season and we have not lost any of those games.
-
There are still places available for the event on Saturday the 11th. https://ptfc.co.uk/product/partick-thistle-2025-26-player-of-the-year-awards-tickets/

The team are in action on Sunday with an away game against Hibs, kick off 1pm. We had two good performances against Celtic and Rangers so if we can replicate those it will be an interesting game. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/hibernian-wfc-v-partick-thistle-wfc-5th-april-2026/ Also, reminder that there is a Race Night at Petershill on the 17th of April: https://ptfc.co.uk/product/ptw-race-night/ -
Totally agree, was just pointing out that we have not got 2nd place wrapped up at this stage. Forgot that Dunfermline are playing Ayr on Tuesday night so if they drop points then we will be okay. Still want to keep the undefeated home record and win against Arbroath as they are the only team we have not beaten in the league. Whilst 2nd is great when we think of what we were expecting at the start of the season it has pros and cons - obvious pro is 2 less games to play but the con is potentially taking the foot of the gas before the semi finals start (although I have confidence that Wilson & Rae would not let that happen).
-
Dunfermline are on 43 points with 6 games left so could get 61 whilst we are currently on 60 so whilst unlikely it is still possible for them to pass us.
-
Disappointing not to win but sounded like we were against 12 today. Excellent spirit to take the lead after the dismissal and then to hold on after they equalised - you can't fault this team for effort. We can absolutely secure 2nd next week at home against Dunfermline so hopefully it will be another big home crowd.
