Now that we are out of the Scottish Cup it is all about the remaining league games.
14 games - 7 at home and 7 away. Morton are on a good run and Queens Park are picking up under new management but Raith have been wobbling and Dunfermline are on a bad run so will certainly be interesting.
I think the current top 5 will remain the same in terms of the teams but the order could change (hopefully with us overtaking Raith).
The Raith game at Firhill which was postponed due to their involvement in the Trust Trophy still has to be rearranged, I was hoping it could be a Saturday but don't think that is possible now which is a shame as probably means a lower attendance.

Start of a run of tough league games today with a home tie against Rangers at 1pm.

The 10 yard rule was dropped about 20 years ago, along with the equally daft golden goal extra timeΒ
Well shows what I know (or don't know). Next you will be telling me you can't push the keeper over the line when he has the ball in his hands and claim a goal and when did keepers stop wearing woolen turtleneck tops?
Seriously though it seems the rulemakers go through phases of "this is going to solve problem x" then ditch that idea and later complain that problem x is still around.

Part of the the problem, in my opinion, is that rules are just not applied or at least applied on a consistent basis. When was the last time you say a goalkeeper penalised for holding the ball longer than 7 seconds? Count how many times it happens today on both sides. Did a rule not get brought in a while back that if you were penalised and a free kick given against you and dissent was given the ref marched the free kick 10 yards forward - do we ever see that?

Let's hope we can get a large home crowd as we know Livingston won't bring many through. Doolan's 50th competitive game as manager so would be nice to add another one to the win column.

I don't - was just being pedantic as it is not quite a year yet.

How many games in the 2nd part ?
10 - play the other 5 teams home and away.

AΒ 1-0 victory against Spartans coupled with Hearts losing sees us jump up to fifth but we now finish the first part of the league with 3 tough games - Rangers and Hibs at home followed by Celtic away.
Well done to the players and management.

Vacancy in Dingwall - can't say I am shocked and hopefully they appoint another diddy (assuming of course Big Wull does not want the job).

A midweek fixture against Spartans, let's hope for 3points before a tough run of games all against the other sides in the top six.

Not expecting a big away support as they are in the Jackie Husband Stand. Let's get a big home support in to help the players and the club's finances.

In to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup after beating Queens Park 3-1 but that flattered us a bit. A number of changes to the starting line up probably contributed to a disjointed performance but ultimately progression is all that matters.

If you are looking for your football fix this weekend the women's team are in Scottish Cup action on Sunday at home against Queens Park who are top of the league below. Kick off is at 4pm.

Posting this here rather than starting a new thread as this one had gone on to discussions about the Academy and Women's Team anyway.

Rumours from the Daily Record that we are to recall Dowds from Ayr as Killie want him on loan? Really?
I am not an expert on the rules but I believe that there is a date a club loaning a player out has to advise the other club if he is being recalled and that has passed. Even then as he has played for us and Ayr he could not play for another club this season.
