Big goal, just coz I didn't want title celebrations to be on back of defeat. But maybe the first time I've ever felt truly sorry for the opposition. Am I wrong? Players even looked a bit subdued.
-
Too many to mention but for pure enjoyment from start to finish it would be hard to beat the Dunfermline game at Firhill.
Morton at Firhill wasn't necessarily enjoyable, but it was something special.
-
Thing that strikes me is that of our "first eleven" we probably had nine signed by this stage. We weren't that far off.
-
I want to see the first team again. Best Thistle team I've ever seen. Give them their day.
-
70-71 had future caps in Rough, Forsyth, John Hansen, Bone and Glavin, with Denis McQuade getting Scottish League honours.
75-76 had Rough (still waiting until April 76 for his first cap), Joe Craig, Alan Hansen and Billy Thomson (mostly in the reserves), with Doug Somner, (and on the periphery) Jim Melrose and Brian Whittaker who would get picked for the Scottish League. Denis and John Hansen were still in the team then too.
If you are right, there should be a good number of future internationalists in the current team. Here's hoping!
Muirhead and Bannigan. And Balatoni for Hungary. I'd love to see a true Mayhill Magyar.
-
I'd do the lot of them. Oops. Just back from the pub.
-
Tell me the defender who he megged and left on his erse was the same one he did on lead up to goal at Firhill. No idea, but it would be funny if it was.
-
I think it's a good idea.

Does the Forum usually have a player of the year? Could we do a poll? I don't know how.

I think there's a place on High Street?
-
Can't believe we're talking like this. Fantastic, isn't it?
-
Finally, no matter what anybody says, there's only one man who has won us this league.
Really? I reckon there's loads!
-
did i hear Muirhead at the end saying ... Let's all laugh at Morton?
Ssshhh. Yeah, I think so.

Points for goals! No way. A win's a win and a draw's a draw. Anything that tampers with that, I'm against.
-
No numbers aren't fixed. We can get as many or as few printed as we want.
Although Saturday's programme will be the normal number of pages I don't think it will come as any surprise to learn that us winning the league rates the odd passing mention.
Thanks Tom. Get one in for me. With as many mentions of winning the league as you can fit into it.

To beat the 2001 total is hugely impressive. That was basically a first division title winning team, playing in the second division. Guys like Hardie, Archie, Craigan, Danny Lennon, Lindau and Scott McLean.
-
What about the numbers? I'd have thought that far more programmes could be sold next week. I don't usually buy one but will definitely want one on Saturday. Is this fixed?

Pie and bovril thread is almost exclusively complimentary and decent in its congratulations. Proud to be jags fan but also proud to be a real Scottish football fan.

Rangers second in he SPL! Remember them? Never liked them.
-
It was noticeable that the players did the usual handshakes with Falkirk players before starting their celebrations. Craigen and Balatoni seemed to enjoy it most
Good to see. Always hate to see teams neglecting the opposition on big occasions. Big champions league teams are the worst for it. Thistle are a class above.

Erskine for me. Combined team play with individual brilliance.
