  1. Nae polis , under 16's free getting hyper on cheap flavoured water. Firhill - holding pen for Junior Jeremy Kyle!
  2. I hate this notion that if you support a particular club then you should hold the same political views. This type of thinking i would reserve for the old firm where your allegience to a flag or political standpoint means more than your love for a football club. I can accept that within our support there will be a cross-section of political views some of which would be viewed as completely the opposite of what they believe in . there will be elements in our support who are extreme right/left wing but the fact that these people can have a common love of thistle makes the club stronger. to try and force people to conform to a certain view should not be what thistle are about. We exist in a city where 2 clubs influence the entire country and beyond with their sinister ideology and those you reject this we need to attract and give an alternative to. I like the fact that i know jags fans who are protestant, catholic , right wing , left wing it makes for intersting disscusions in the pub but we all have a common love of thistle and that in my opinion makes our support stronger. the fact that we don't have to conform like sheep and we acn have our own minds. As long as these views are not overtly shown at matches as not to label our support then i feel that is the way to continue.
  3. An absolutely superb day, really enjoyed it. Scored a goal , Got to the final unfortunately beaten on penalties but can't complain as i S*** out of taking one myself. Full credit to the organisers, a great idea hopefully happen again next year.
  4. Aiden Mcgeady's family didn't emigrate from Ireland only one of his Grandparents did. Why wouldn't he want to honour his other three grandparents, parents and his own place of birth. If Celtic didn't exist he would barely recognise his "irish ethnicity"
  5. sadly don't have a link to it, read a mates copy in work. what a football club has got to do with an national census is beyond me. Funny how the old firm always distance themselves from any trouble by saying it's not a football problem yet involve themselves in the national census.
  6. The Old Firm, Tennents/carling/ntl/cr smith United. One cannot exist without the other. Two global brands shamelessly cultivated for over a hundred years and fuelled on bigotry, political conflict and religion. both clubs would be average supported clubs if the other didn't exist. Joint sponsorship, the 11-1 voting structure, "the greatest derby in the world" They have manipulated and monopolised football their entire existence to acheive their common goal. Shameless tit-for-tat point scoring by both clubs management heirarchy in order to maintain extremist rivalry. examples include in the blue corner the orange strip, waving of the union jack on the pitch before home games (why?), claiming ownership of the right to wear the poppy, an act which should be personal choice by over the top fan dislays, massive poppy and writing on strip to emphasis "we're more british than everyone else", remit to create a culture where if someone wears a poppy they are immediately labelled a Rangers fan and treated accordingly thus discouraging supporters of other clubs who would normally wear one to do so as they can't be bothered with the hassle " your either with us or against us". In the green corner paying lip service to the anti-poppy protests of the green brigade in an attempt to win favour with the more extreme Celtic fans the "st Patricks day" edition of the Celtic view an official club publication. if you haven't seen this check it out. A celebration of all the "irish" players that have adorned the hoops. A centre spread poster with Irish Tri-colour background and players Paddy McCourt, Neil Lennon and Niall McGinn who all played for Northern Ireland ( minor Detail), 2 page spread urging all Celtic fans to " tick the Irish Box" in the census form " if you have Irish parents, grand parents , Great great granparents it qualifies you to say you have Irish ethnicity apparently. Various statistics to back-up claims that people with Irish surnames are discriminated against with regard to employment and more likely to live in Poverty. galvanising the notion that society, establishment, police, referees are all against us and we're all victims. Rallying language like " stand up and be counted". It's getting worse and they both have the media in ther pockets so nothing will ever be done about it. So be proud that you have taken the decision not to be part of Old Firm United.
  7. Could someone be entrusted to bring the big "Greaves "flag that is usually in the main stand to the game.
  8. They didn't last long, thankfully and were replaced by a thistle flag .
  9. I thought George Galloway had started his " round the grounds" campaign trail. What next irish tri-colours, terrorist worship and conspiracy theories. please keep this guff out of firhill.
  10. would make manchester look like a sunday school picnic.
  11. One of the best atmospheres ever that night, pure venom. think Davie Elliott scored. remember crowd surging forward to spit on Simon Stainrod breaking crush barrier , happy days. best ground in Scotland at that time, better than the legoland nonsense they have now.
  12. Wasn't at the game today but what has apparently happened to this guy doesn't surprise me. I've never witnessed such a bunch of infighting fans in my life like Thistle fans. The amount of incidents me or my mates have been involved in over the years in unbelievable at one stage almost weekly. When i used to relay these incidents to OF supporting mates they couldn't believe it. This seems an even new level though when there is kids involved and is truelly shamefull. As usual there is blinkered people on here who think we are the the best fans in the world and are constantly searching for excuses for todays behaviour. Just like to say to Lennythistle that we're not all a*******s although it doesn't feel like that sometimes.
