Anyone else listening to Sportsound?  Kerridene Nittsan (apologies about spelling) seemed to be saying that he had learned from an unnamed source high up in the SPFL (?) that there will be no attempt to doctor season 2020-21 to accommodate a finish 2019-20.  He seemed to be suggesting that the mood music beginning to emerge is for the season to be finished now, wherever clubs are sitting.  That surely would relegate Thistle who sit one point behind QOS with a game in hand.  Someone reassure me that I misheard please!

On Thursday evening the SPFL announced the weekend games were going ahead then 12 hours later had binned them all, so I wouldn't put much credence into the thoughts of this 'unnamed source' to be honest.

Before Tuesday night, Thistle's last HOME league clean sheet was against Dunfermline 8/12/2018.

15 months without a home clean sheet??? That's a shocker even by PTFC standards - a record surely.

  3. Get an email with login details today.

a ) mail has no link to the App Store so I need to guess what it's called to install it

    b) 'Login successfull' (sic) message

    c) 'Be there' Banner taking up a third of the screen - pressing it nothing happens

    d) Click in Ladies Day banner then 'Book Now' resulting in 'No Link for Booking' message  ( same for the Golf Day and Business Club )

    e) No obvious way to actually buy a standard match ticket - only via tiny icon at the bottom

    f) Find match and scroll down screens of pointless text to bewilderingly named 'Add Package' button

    g) opens up new Internet browser window and asks me to log in again.

    h) give up.

Must everything connected with the club be so half arsed and amateurish? If we've paid money for that I despair.

The conspiracy theory I’m ruminating over is that this has been designed this way to insulate a vanity project. For as long as 3BC owns a key bit of the ground it has an asset it can borrow against.

That asset can then be used to make it look like someone is injecting “new investment” into the club when really all they’ve done is pay for it by depriving the club of beneficial ownership of the stadium it occupies.

A legitimate concern. I'm sure the first action of the new chairman on Monday will be to put out a statement to end this ( and other ) conspiracy theories....

League reconstruction. Last year there was talk of increasing the Championship to twelve teams, when it was realised that one of the best supported teams, Falkirk, were going down. Expect it to be raised again, if it looks like Jags are doomed.

Unfortunately this means 44 games - so 8 more defeats.

Seems to go through cycles of being great or being mundane

I went v. Dunfermline 5-1 in the promotion season when it was an add-on to the season ticket and it was mobbed out. So much so the 1st half was spent standing at the back of the stand ( which suited me fine )

Cheers. Some barnet on the lad.

Here's the squad photo. Great strips indeed. Some decent players too.

Two magnificent strips both proudly owned in my younger days. Should have hung onto them - I saw the away version  being offered on eBay for a mere £80 (!)

The utter MISERY of people on here who don't want Doolan back.

Oh, wait ... it's the same people who are miserable about the signings in this transfer window, who are miserable about Archibald being back even as an assistant, who are miserable about McCall but were miserable about the manager before that, and the one before that, and so on. The last three years have been an absolute boon for you all. I'm sure you'll all be as happy as pigs in shite sitting in Firhill being wet and cold and miserable tonight. And if we lose, even better! You can be even more miserable.

We should change the club colours to grey and grey and black: The Maryhill Magyars Moaners.

I always thought everybody who supported PTFC was miserable at heart. If you'd been going to games long term why wouldn't you be? They're hardly a bringer of great joy.

Showing my age but would you be inspired by this team::

    Goal: Niven

    Full-Backs: Hogan  Brown

    Half-Backs: Harvey McKinnon Cunningham

Forward Line: Cowan Whielaw Hainey Duffy McParland

Defence, particularly right back was suspect.

Wonder if these players realised they were playing in a golden era for Thistle Late 1950s to Mid 1960s - third in league, European qualification!!

Tremendous. As a child of the 70's I'd love to travel back in time and go to a game at Firhill in the late 50's.

Night and day with the stuff served up now in a two thirds empty three sided ground.
