  1. There is so much about this that just seems wrong.

    1) Why only have a vote on 1 director and a seperate vote for the rest together.

    2) Why the trust was being lobbied before by a major shareholder to influence the "secret" ballot

    3) Why was the ballot being counted by an employee or by the company ran by the same major shareholder that was lobbying the trust.

    4) Why was the same major shareholder alledgedly mentioning where the votes were going before thay had been counted and declred in a "secret" ballot.

    5) Why make the AGM in the morning for a member of the board with NO shares who still doesnt turn up.

    Conspiracy...... seems like it

  2.

The man at the helm of finances has REPEATEDLY overseen budgets prepared which have been proven to be nonsense with seriously flawed assumptions, financial internal controls have been weak allowing problems to occur also on his watch, and there are probably some other issues we dont know about. His regime as FD is one of repeated failure and under performance in recent years.

He has never been held to account.

He is like the book keeper who never goes on holiday. There are many examples floating round of his refusal to give up finacial controls of the club.

The Trust really should be demanding a full financial audit of the financial records for, lets say the last four years.

This on top of Jim about to start an internal audit of our finances when.... oh he's removed from office by the finance man rallying his pals (and propco buddys) round to vote him off.

    I smell a rat.

The trust if it has any fight left must ask for a full audit (independant, not from Hughes's company) and let us all see what is really going on, this smells like the Hi-his all over again, decemation of a football club for personal gain through a property deal

  3. What exactly is going on here, what is the plan for the club........ it doesnt seem football is high up on the agenda. They have got rid of a guy who has brought more good ideas to the club listened to more fans and been more visible around the club than any other director, and it seems may have put more money in than some of the other directors. Did he get close to unearthing their master plan for the asset stripping of firhill. This whole propco thing stinks adding to that the fact that hughes etc seem to still be calling the shots and we have serious problems. Things seem to be afoot at firhill and not in a good way.

Jim thanks for all the efforts you put in, you won't be forgotten

  4. Why should any business listen to what its customers want when what they want is a model which loses them money?

If the customers don't like what is there, they won't come, even less money, no business!!!

The 10team top league was dumped previously cause it never worked too tight youths couldnt be brought through and our teams struggled in europe as did the national team, and the fans were bored with playing the same teams over and over again, they are dropping the 12 team top league cause it doesnt work. Our division doesnt work because we are playing the same teams up to 7 times a season (8 if there is a replay)

Magic idea we'll reintroduce a system that never worked years ago when crowds were higher for the top division, and give our new league the same monotomy with 2 extra teams to share it with.

Alot of fans struggle to make 1 game a week or 2 a month cause of finance, we are now going to increase the financial strain on them with more games probably closer togetherk, and you can bet the prices will come up, and the kids go free will be dropped when the SPL start to set the minimum pricing for the all shiney new structure.

  5. No it doesn't. It shows a theory from a fan on a football forum whereas the SPL have actually done a feasibility study into a 16 team league which came back with a £20million deficit. That's without pointing out the flaws in the theory since we'd have an earlier proposed start date and the new SPL cup isn't going to be introduced alongside the league cup but would replace it for the 22 teams in the SPL structure. Also players earn an annual wage they don't earn their wage on the basis of playing 44 games rather than 36, that's what appearance or win bonuses are for.

Where is this feasibility study?? why isn't it published? Why did Dundee Utd Hearts and a few others say no the 1st time if it was so great.

Players will ask for bigger wages as they did when the premier league became the SPL with the TV money, the players agents will know that there is more money coming from sponsership and will want there cut, for being "championship" players now.

  6. 44 league games a season!!! Lets do the maths here

    52 weeks a year.

summer break 10 weeks (end may - mid aug)

    Internatinol weekends 4

    scottish cup 2 (3rd & 4th Round)

36 weeks to play 44 games, plus league cup say 2 games, scottish cup runs and replays. Plus this SPL cup they are talking about!!

There could be 11 or 12 mid week games minimum for most teams before the bad weather takes hold and causes a fixture back log.

This is pure fantasy by the powers that be, midweek attendances are always lower than saturdays.

You may have the same amount of folk paying in over the season but that will be split over more games, with the cost to the club higher (opening the ground for more match days, more use of floodlights, more wages for players, bigger pools of players due to the greater amount of fixtures etc).

18% more games the players will be looking for 18% more money.

It'll cost the fans at least 18% more money to see all the games cause the prices wont come down at best they will freeze per game but season tickets will come up.

Travelling support will come down due to cost of travelling, less revenue.

Hopeless situation if this comes through :thumbdown::thumbdown:

  7. £165 each! If that is just the price of the parts that is truly ridiculous!

I had to use kwik fit, the only time i've ever used them, for an MOT and they tried to tell me the braking efficiency of the car was poor and needed all round new brake pads and discs. Which would be in the region of over £500! The guy must have thought I was clueless, he had the car on some sort of road tester trying to explain what was supposed to happen when under braking. In the end I just sort of laughed, called him a chancer and left. I knew the front brake pads needed done in a few hundred miles but a mechanic friend said the discs were fine.

Would never ever go near Kwik Fit, as bad as if not worse than some Arnold Shark branches.

Had the same with my car a few year ago at the one next to the maryhill shopping center, took the pads off then told me they couldnt fit new ones as the disc was indersize, he used a micrometer on my discs like a g-clamp, trying to tell me this was precision inspection equipment, let him rabble for a bit before telling him i was an aerospace inspector and showing him and his boss how properly to use it, before asking to get the regional manager on the phone, free brakes and an apology, but still never went back there.

  8. It's bloody nonsense. They've got undersoil heating that is constantly on the blink or never on. Makes you wonder about the money situation at falkirk too. The 25 quid pie and beans robbery furthers my point. It beggars belief though, my wee brother was able to get an amateur game on on xmas eve and we got a game on over here on xmas day and it was minus 15 so how come these idiots at falkirk can't? Also, why do the police keep saying 'the areas around the grounds are too dangerous to get the games on?' People will have to walk on the snow and ice to go to work and the shops etc and manage fine. People don't just become bumbling idiots when they go to the football

Spot on do they tell the shops in town to close or the bars and clubs cause its been snowing???

  9. If anyone was lucky enough to get any HMV or Waterstones vouchers from Santa, I would suggest spending them ASAP.

I can see this business going same way as Zavvi and Borders, in that they will soon refuse accepting the vouchers.

I thought a voucher was basically a credit note and had to be honoured

  10. why? you publishing all your accounts?

I do as does the whole population of Norway, our "tax list " is aavailable on the net and tells what you earned what you owe and how much you have in cash and assets, not saying its right but they have the transparency for every one from the wee woman that cleans the factory at the bottom to the king at the top.

  11. Totally agree sigey, watching football on a warm sunny july saturday or sunday afternoon is so much better than on a cold january tuesday night in say falkirk, and over here you seem to see more kids coming to the games in the warmer weather, the attendances have went up in ireland since the introduction of summer season, i think it would be a good thing for scotland, oh and we also have a 2 week summer break so players, fans etc can go on there holidays

  12. Whatever money is saved from the annual payment from SPL to SFL = £1.5m (if whole payment is stopped), more likely about £800k or £900k.

If i remember right part of that money goes to the SFL to allow SPL clubs to play in Europe as the SFA's league is the SFL, and there was talk a while ago that if there was no safegaurd (moneys) for the rest of scottish football the winner of SFL1 would get the Champions League spot and not the old firm

  13. Rough figures taken from here suggests the prize pot for SPL 2 is likely to be between £5 and 6 million.

    Broken down:

    11th in SPL = £800k

    12th in SPL = £720k

Parachute payment for relegated SPL Club = £375k (over 2 years)

Combined SFL prize money = £610k

Whatever money is saved from the annual payment from SPL to SFL = £1.5m (if whole payment is stopped), more likely about £800k or £900k.

If you add the Irn Bru and other sponsorship money, plus the money from this SPL Cup and any potential money from TV/Media deals, then it could be a potential +£6m prize pot.

This money is already in the game, it's not new money. The difference would be that instead of 2 clubs getting £1.595 between them, 10 SFL 1 Clubs sharing £610k between them, 30 SFL Clubs sharing the sponsorship and tv/media money between them...all that money would be shared with 10 SPL 2 teams.

Some of the £1.5m paid to the SFL by the SPL will most likely be funding the prize money for SFL Clubs (anyone know the ptotal prize money paid out in SFL 2 and SFL 3?), so Im not sure of how much EXTRA money that equates to in these figures...probably reduces the overall prize pot a bit.

These 'very rough' figures suggest middle of the road clubs will see quite an increase in income, but the small teams (most of SFL 2 and SFL 3) are being hung out to dry. These figures also dont take account of any increase in prize money for the SPL 1 teams, my assumption isthey will get the same prize money as they do now but will get a greater 'slice of the TV/Media cake' because that money will be divided by 10 instead of 12.

Is it worth it for the same tedious crap where we play teams 4 times a season (at least) in a cut throat league where relegation to the 3rd tier would see Clubs in financial meltdown? Not for me, but then Im a football fan and we obviously do not know what's best for Scottish football

Remember when the SPL started we were told there would be so much more money for the clubs involved, never came well except for 90% going to the OF and the other 10% going to the rest, look at how many clubs in the SPL or who have went into it are close to being bust (if they werent a football club but a regular business they would be)

    Us

    Kilmarnock

    dunfermline

    dundee

    livingstone

    Rangers

    Motherwell

    Hearts

and there is probably more, as soon as they mention more money in the league players want bigger wages etc etc and clubs spend more as the loss from relegation is incredible, even though they are losing money hand over fist year in year out trying to stay in the land of milk and honey.

Lets see how much money really comes out of it, cause who will pay for the TV rights for SPL2 when they struggled to get a deal for SPL1 and the only games that really generate any interest are the old firm clashes now, and that has hee-haw to do with football.

The product on the park will get worse with tighter smaller leagues and more to lose,

The cost for the fans will come up, as players demand more money. And clubs will pay to safegaurd there league survival.

The clubs will end up in more debt as they try to keep in the league.

This could be the beginning of the end for the game in our country as we know it.

  14. If Partick Thistle vote for this, I'll seriously consider chuck following senior football.

Totally agree with you Will, The fresh thing about watching games over here is you only play teams twice, its great all the wee clubs have a go away from home and it makes for an exciting league (well less boring). You even have the rangers player Bougerra saying he wants to leave as its too repetitive here. If this goes ahead scottish football will be dead as we know it in 5 years
