It's quite funny to see that the Queen of Denmark is back on the forum. Claiming insights, tapping his nose, implying he knows really important people. Some might say that's a sign of insecurity?

For what it's worth, I trust Ian & Dave's interpretation of events. They are Thistle men through and through and not keyboard warriors.

Btw, the rain last night made cancelation a sensible move.

For the lesser of us please explain what you have to do to be a Thistle man through and through.

I was driving down to Glasgow early as I can't stand heavy traffic. I've dunnikierjag to thank for me not making a fruitless journey. His post was as far as I'm aware the first piece of communication that the game was definitely in serious doubt. Armed with that bit of knowledge I avoided the motorway and was, when abandonment confirmed, able to head back. Saved me some diesel and good half hour of wasted driving. :thumbsup2:

glad I was able to help L.I.B.

So Aberdeen knew on their way down, before they arrived at the ground at 2.30 that there was a pitch inspection planned for 3.30.

It's disappointing that the first thing Aberdeen do when they get off the bus is announce to the public that there's a pitch inspection in an hour. Especially when they wanted only official communication.

@SteveT1983's Tweet: Was told at 2:30 by the club the game wasn't in any doubt at all and no inspection planned...

Withdraw this post. I never said I spoke to Aberdeen staff at 2.30. The timing of my post is 3.18 that is just after I spoke to them. I have no idea when they knew there was an inspection planned. You should be asking why Aberdeen and not Thistle were saying when the inspection was taking place.

  4. Is there any truth in the rumour that Aberdeen protested about the state of the park and said the game should be cancelled?

I was at Firhill at 2.30. I spoke to one of the TVs crew who said it was very unlikely that the game would go ahead, in her words " puddles everywhere". The Aberdeen bus was outside the ground and I spoke to Gordon Marshall the goalkeeping coach who told me there was an inspection at 3.30. He also said there were puddles on both sides of the pitch. When I asked him if he thought the game would go ahead he replied " can't see it going ahead".

I asked him if they were angry about being brought to Glasgow when the game was in doubt, he said it was part of a footballers life but he was angry that Aberdeen fans were already on their way. By the way he was a really nice guy.

  5. Very few of the posters here were at the game, we didn't deserve to lose, it's cup luck, they got one chance and took it, lawless bundled off the ball, too many high balls punted forward, and let's not forget bumbling Collum and his gang of incompetents, so,not all Archie's or the teams fault

Ok I didn't realise it was Collum that picked the team. I understand now.

  6. Went to the game thinking he would play Nesbitt, was really looking forward to seeing him. After the game driving home I thought we will probably never see him as after the next 2 games against Hearts and Aberdeen we could be back in the relegation struggle and if he wouldn't play him against the bottom club in a cup game then he isn't going to play him in a relegation battle. This brings me to the point of why did we sign him. If he is only going to be an unused sub then he may as well be a Celtic unused sub.

Watching that load of rubbish was bad enough but then reading Archibalds reaction later did nothing for my mood. Can he not just say he got his tactics and team selection wrong, put his hands up and be honest.

A message for Mr Archibald, if you are going to play that formation again then please let us know in advance as I for one won't be there to suffer that.

  7. When you're down to 10 having a player like Amoo on the park, with his pace on the break, is a real asset.

There was a so called supporter in the JH stand giving Amoo dogs abuse all game for being slow, can't jump, lazy you name it he was it. Pathetic, I saw a lot of potential in him once he gets up to speed and adjusts to the physical part of Scottish football, just hope Archie perseveres with him.

Do you think they should be sacked?

No but they need to stop trotting out the same excuses, I like you have been supporting Thistle for a long time like you (over sixty years in my case) and I have never been so angry after watching that pathetic excuse for a football team. No more excuses, in the last 7 games against Celtic how many shots at goal have we had and how many saves has their goalkeeper made, I don't need to ask how many goals we have scored. Come on after 7 games why are we playing the same tactics?

  9. How many times is Archibald going to play Stevenson as a lone striker before he realises like most fans that it does not work. Why play the same way against Celtic everytime, what's wrong with trying something different. For goodness sake what we saw on Sunday was bloody awful. Why would anyone spend money to watch that crap. Are you telling me it is ok to accept that just because we have lost so many times. I thought the whole idea of having young managers is that they learn from past mistakes, Archibald and Paterson have learned nothing.
