So what your suggesting is that we keep racking up losses - sell off more shares - get more money - buy players and hope we get promoted ?

Sounds like a Solid Plan - you should apply to join the Board

It wasn't a suggestion, just what I thought may be occurring. I've no wish to join the board, but I suspect you may still have ambitions, with all your plans.....

Yip - now we know why “ The German Model” suddenly appeared out of no where

Question to TJF - if the current £500K is Working Capital and Reserves and the Board Presentation shows a £150K loss this Year and into profit next year

Why would you need a second £500K ?

Invest more money in improving the team?

Two assertions unsupported by any evidence …. You would be better to say …

‘ don’t know and I am happy in third place’

That's what I said....you do of course realise ( I trust ) that from here on in every single post you make will apparently have to be evidenced ( sic ) or based on irrefutable fact. If not the hypocrisy police may be having words...No opinion is to be allowed or countenanced by order of javeajag...should be a fun forum.

Because this started with people saying Raith have more resources than us therefore being in third place is acceptable.

They don’t and therefore it isn’t.

The truth is we don't know and it is acceptable because its ahem....reality. 99.5% of thistle fan base ( I have no evidence ) accept where we are, irrespective of the why.

No reason why we can’t as much as you would hate us to ,

You have lost it. Or you are confusing me with someone else?  I've consistently said I want us to get promoted if at all possible. It's why I go to the games, hoping for the best outcome.  By whatever means....

It’s quite simple I don’t accept it was always going to be a transition season ( it was going to be a transitional season for Liverpool this season oh look )

nor do I accept the four player excuse either.

it will be really funny if we do get promotion and listen to how though it happened it shouldn’t have ….

So your position is you still expect us to get promoted? Just to pin you down, is promotion via the play offs a success? For future reference later in the season.

We will never know if McCall would have gotten promotion last season…. We know Doolan didn’t. We will see what he achieves this season then we can judge him, at the end of the season.

You can say that about any sacked manager. For example Wayne Rooney or Steve Cooper may be muttering I would have won the league if.....

It’s not complicated score lots of goals and don’t concede many that’s the route to football success look at Man City or Liverpool……our defensive capabilities will most likely cost us promotion

Aye. Let's compare us to probably the best two teams in Europe. I think their defenders may be outwith our budget.

The statistical evidence that matters is getting promoted. If we keep those stats and are in the championship next year then it’s failure ( cue posts of people telling us why nit getting promoted is actually a great outcome )

We can still get promoted. As you say it doesn't matter how. Automatic or play offs. You seem reluctant to give Doolan ( or the team )  any praise no matter what. That is of course up to you but your reasoning seems to have little....reason. I hope we do get promoted by whatever means, but if we don't it's not the end of the world. I don't think anyone has said not being promoted is a great outcome ( bar your own post ). Anyway onwards to Greenock. I'm predicting 4 3 to us...

If you include Fitz and Lawless as midfielders then I can get to 11 without thinking

Excellent. A full team then lol. Seriously though, given modern day squad sizes are we really out of kilter? And does it matter....if Thomas made a critical difference?

As is every team in league bar Dundee United. Every club bar them are losing a goal or more per game average this season, United a goal per 2 games.

Raith have conceded 6 less than us, but also scored 4 less than us.

Are defences worse this season or attacks better?

Only 3 teams have a positive goal difference

Javeajag won't be happy until we have a goal difference of +100 with no goals conceded. I'm enjoying watching thistle score plenty of goals under Doolan. Be interested to see the total stats under Doolan ( including play off results ). It's impressive I'm sure.

There is no data that I have seen which stops us winning the league or promotion, but you want to justify why we can’t/wont.

Pssst. Read my posts. I said promotion is possible via the play offs. Difficult to see us winning the league notwithstanding a mysterious algorithm.

The undeniable truth is that lots of thistle fans can give you lots of reasons / excuses/ justifications why the club is not successful, why 3rd place in the league is a great / not unreasonable  in the circumstances and that clubs have lots more money than us without providing any data or information on the subject using words like ‘ I heard …’, ‘ it’s likely ‘ or ‘ I imagine ‘, while choosing to ignore that the club currently top of the league has less money than the club second in the table …..cue let me tell you why that couldn’t be us …..

So what does your verification of data show where thistle should be? Essentially your view is I'm afraid , subject to all the usual parameters. It is an opinion based on the square root of a finger in the air. You therefore are the same as all thistle fans, neither right or wrong. Accept it and move on.

  14. Strange game. Some great attacking play, offset by a horrible sneddon error. Bar the free kick defensive played well, particularly Neilson and Milne. Graham had an off day. All in all good result. Never dull!

There seems to be group think that we can’t win the league because ..,

    - we lost four players

    - other teams have more money

    - we had financial problems

    - we couldn’t recruit on time

which seem designed to ensure we all accept we can’t get promoted

We could still get promoted via the play offs.....remember we very nearly pulled that off. Who knows , if we can somehow recruit well in January it's not beyond the bounds of possibility. Perhaps you have written us off for promotion, but I haven't.

Can you provide the evidence on Raith please..

This is the equivalent of Rangers asking the SFA for the VAR audio. Meaningless and will achieve nothing. What next? Get the forensic accountants in for a financial analysis debate.

Because we have people saying other clubs have more money than us - no facts

then we made no money off the playoffs-no facts

Then well we made some but we were in debt - no facts

We have a sufficient budget to challenge for the title just like Raith but we want to excuse that fact away.

Nb your last paragraph is not a fact. It's an opinion.

Irrespective of the budget Raith have a better team than us this season. Not by much possibly, but table doesn't lie. Football is played on the field, not on spreadsheets.  Very very few fans ( bar yourself ) expected us to be genuine title contenders and that is how it is panning out. Sometimes it's better to keep your expectations balanced. No matter what we will all be wishing Doolan the very best January transfer window. If that doesn't transpire I'm sure you will be vocal, so let's hope you will have no need to be vocal, meaning we are doing well. That would be splendid.
