It was always going to be a challenge to overcome DU but not impossible. The last time they came down they struggled to get out the division. I find the unsubstantiated claims about Raith amusing …..does any one have any actual information that they have spent a load of cash ? None that I can see and they have half our number of season ticket holders. And let’s ignore the £500k  we received. There is no reason why we couldn’t be above Raith except in football terms they are better. I also don’t  accept the we lost 4 players excuse either. That happens to us and every team in the championship nearly every year. Just check the other teams new signings for this season.

where Dollan has been culpable is in recruitment. Hardly any of his signings have been successful and clearly there are 5/6 of them he doesn’t rate as they never play. We can’t afford to only have a preferred  squad of 16. I shudder to think of the money he’s wasted.

Getting into the play offs is not a given and if other teams win their games in hand and we stumble then it could be a struggle.

so we are under achieving with a manager who is increasingly of concern.

If we are underachieving based on being behind Raith, let's have a degree of reality here. It seems to me the Raith team is one in a generation, similar to thistle teams of the past where sometimes a team just gels, due to 3 or 4 exceptional players. It happens and is alas outwith our control. That said if they have a few injuries to key players they may stumble also. Believe it or not that possibility applies to all teams, not just us.

  2. Lots of forum contributors were stating we may be relegation contenders, or bottom half of table, given our financial issues. That we are 3rd, 8 points above 5th place is above most reasonable expectations. Team remains frustratingly inconsistent and at times way off it. As many have said January window will determine if we get stronger or weaker.

If recent televised games are anything to go by it could be a turgid watch - having said that a dire 0-0 will represent a considerable improvement on the result at Firhill.

Fair to say our recent history in televised games has been far from turgid. We might just win this this. If we do.....DU and Goodwin could crumble. Let's hope so.

Absolute stonewall pen for them in second half with Bannigan! Very poor again after break… we are doing very well to be third because I don’t believe we are the third best footballing team in league but we must have something about us.

We were poor today bar a 15 minute spell in first half. If we're not third best football team.....( 7 points ahead of 4th ) I'd be surprised.

    Milne & McMillan to Hearts

Fitzpatrick to lazy/unfit/underlying injured (never sure which it is) for league above.

Brian Graham. No chance he'll leave. 37yr old hothead just about right in mid table championship. Not good enough for league up. To old for DUFC or RR to pay money for.

The rest are journeymen with Lawless being the exception

Surprised he extended contract as he looked primed to be a DUFC pre contract for their Premier Premiership return next season.

Happy he's staying but gonna be a tighter budget and tougher season in 24/25

    Are you Derek Adams?

Got out of jail today, we did nothing in the second half, If BBG can only last 70ish minutes why not move him back into defence rather than take him off, we seem to go to pieces when he's not on the park, as for Sneddons distribution I counted 12 kick outs in the second half that went to to a Dunfermline player,as for his time wasting ...........

Did you use a 5 bar gate system or your fingers?

  7. Think we need to look at things in the round. Doing better this season that I thought we might. Frustrating I agree that we have lost a few games we should have won, but tell you what it's entertaining stuff. If we beat dunfermline next week ( not easy ) 3 points from two games in Fife would be decent. We shall see.

I think that’s unfair on JJ, Tom. The Forum is a place for debate, not belittling others

Always room for satire on this site I'd say. I'd also respectfully suggest that JJ has clearly attempted to belittle the efforts of TJF at every turn.

Judging by Doolans lack of faith in Adeloye and his limited game time I fully expect to see Wes McDonald start through the middle with continual high balls being pumped into him by Muirhead.

One day you may run out of well thought out posts.

  10. Considering how much TJF members have put into the club over the last 2 years, its only right and proper that some of the money is "gifted" to those members. I fight it baffling that some could turn a positive into a negative, albeit it seems very much a minority view.

Pumped by Dundee Utd, lucky to get a point at Hampden and scraped a draw at home to Ayr??? Form is nosediving.

If and when we nosedive to the bottom I'm sure you will come and tell us....after you have pulled your trousers back up. But....if our form picks up will you be magnanimous.....absolutely no chance.
