Difficult to attract players with all the negativity regarding Finances at the club,Somehow we need to generate positivity, dont know how but how are we going to attract anyone?.

Season tickets are well ahead of schedule, plus the TJF inputs a pretty good story I'd say. Whether it's enough to balance the mess left by the previous board is unknown, but I hope so.

  2. My view is that all three were very good players for us. Plenty of people thought the docherty/bannigan axis didn't work, so that conundrum now sorted. As always no player is irreplaceable so hopefully some new faces to come that will make us a decent team next year. For morale purposes important we get some new signings in ASAP.

Would promotion have not been futile (or perhaps embarrassing?) in the face of such financial issues?

    Greater income - true

Massive expenditure required would have possibly out-stripped that income.

Still would have been better in the SPL without a doubt.

  4. Like most still coming to terms with what transpired yesterday. A huge opportunity missed. I see a few are predicting we won't be challenging next season. I'd like to think that doolan will build his own team in the style we have just witnessed. A big challenge of course. Clearly Dundee United should be strong....but their current team hardly world beaters. I suspect Inverness will be up there, but will we really be below morton; ayr and dunfermline? Who knows, but as many have said if the fans are as galvanised as of late, we can absolutely be challenging.

Hope and pray I'm wrong but.....

Think we'll come up short due to  general naiveness and a lack of calm when it comes to the crunch.

In true Thistle style I predict a red card that will knacker our chances, or a Brownlie howler, possibly a Fitzpatrick blazed open goal chance or maybe even a borderline VAR decision.

The dream is 2 or 3 nil at Firhill and a solid defensive 2nd leg but can guarantee it'll be 2 legs of complete and utter torture/frustration.

Anyone got a spare DeLorean that I can borrow so that I can jump to half 6 on Sunday?

That's the spirit. Like all of us you can't guarantee diddly.....thankfully.

Seems rather churlish after such an emphatic win and a clean sheet but I feel one of our weaknesses all season has been an inability to see a game out (hold on to a lead). I'm not highlighting last night or Tuesday night as we were playing for the most part with a midfielder down. But there's been quite a few other games where we've been leading and ceded possession too much and too often. Annoying in two ways as the team is usually built up to play possession football and we're actually quite good at it.

I think you may be over analysing things after a 8 3 victory. We don't do perfection......that's boring lol

Absolutely criminal defending from both sides and Mitchell at their third goal. Dear God!

If by some miracle we get to the play off finals, we will get ragdolled by the Premiership side.

Best to concentrate on the positives. We scored some fine goals and have been on a very good run of results. Ragdolled by county, Dundee United etc....have you watched them  this season. Nothing to fear if....we get there.

Slavering nonesense? Doolan won a few games, we have been up and down form wise like half of the top 6 since the season started. He’s made no great difference.

And no he doesn’t deserve more time than others, ffs what a stupid thing to say !

He's only had 11 games. That was the point I was trying to make. It's definitely stupid to think he could have done much better in the circumstances. Nb the season is not finished.

  9. Some slavering nonsense on here. Doolan has inherited a squad and we have lost one game in 11. What were people expecting? Like all managers he deserves time. In fact he deserves more. Simples and...we are probably actually where we deserve to be with this squad.

  10. I know that Brownlie was at fault for the Ayr goal, but that is to miss the big picture in that AYR completely outplayed us from minute 20 to 85. I couldn't work out if it was deliberate on our part, or a bit of tactical nous by Ayr. We did look knackered too for some reason. Important to say though that the team form in last 10 games has been excellent, so maybe just a blip....

Stranger things have happened, but if that happened, I think there would be calls for a match fixing investigation.

I doubt it. Results have been close between the two teams and raith beat them in the challenge Cup a few months back.
