    Thanks TAT.

Regarding the Favourite Bonus, I'm afraid not. Your prediction was 1 -  1 and the final score was 2 - 4.

Aye sorry I’m an idiot, thought you got points if your favourite team won - no matter what you actually predicted. Cheers.

  2. In an ideal world, I think we're 5 short: replacements/competition for Sneddon and Bell, another right-back, attacking midfielder/winger and striker. If McCall is adamant we're only signing 4 then we could maybe do without another striker. It looks a decent enough starting eleven just now - just needs a bit more quality in the squad.

    Sneddon

    Foster - Brownlie - Bell - Holt

    Docherty - Turner - Bannigan

    Rudden ---------- Tiffoney

    Graham

McCready, McKenna, O'Ware, Niang, Gordon, Murray, MacIver.

Since it’s that time of the season and it’s slow .. who would your 5 signings be realistically?

I was excited about Declan Glass signing on loan and then he got injured for the season - might we be in for him again? Is he good enough for the Championship?

Firstly, SOD wasn't a product of our Academy. He was signed from Annan Athletic.

Secondly, Henry I suppose could be described as a product of the Academy though I am uncertain how long the Academy had been running and at which point he actually joined the Academy. It makes no difference because as far as I recall he never played for the first team or if he did it must only have been a rare appearance.

Finally, I will give you Nisbet! He did come through the Academy but was never convincing as a first team player. The question with this player given what was going on inside his head at the time is " did he fail us or did we fail him" as he certainly had the potential to be a first team regular.

O'Donnell didn't come from Annan (I think you're confusing him with Aaron Muirhead - who convinced me in that 2012/13 season that he'd eventually get Scotland caps!). He came through Aberdeen & Celtic's youth systems before signing his first professional contract with us.

Hendry did make first team appearances for us. 5, including Premiership starts v Celtic and Motherwell.

  5. So, 4-5 new signings once everyone has been retained (let’s include Bell & Tiffoney in that) would probably be:

    GK,

    CB (Mulgrew?)

    AM/W

    AM/W

    ST (Dobbie?)

With the AM/W positions fitting a similar profile to Tiffoney; exciting young flair players.

I would like to see Penrice remaining at Firhill but playing further forward in a wide midfield position which he has done successfully for Livingston and East Fife!

I would have thought wide left midfield would have been Penricd's best position but I recall a fellow poster saying his best performance for the Jags was on thr right!

Either way I hope we retain him

Would be happy for him to stay too, but if it helps us get Tiffoney (ie. our right to compensation cancels out their right to compensation), then I wouldn’t be too upset.

Urrrgh. Old pro.  We had that type for a long time and then changed under Jackie Mac for the better.  Disruptive mouthy with equally mouthy wife who gets lots of media coverage.

Archibald, Murray, Rowson, Craig. There’s still a place for old pros in a young squad. Can play both full-back positions, has been playing in the Premiership and is better than Williamson. No brainer for me.

  8. I don’t think we’ll win this case, but I don’t see us getting a severe punishment either. The SPFL haven’t handled this as well as they should have and for that reason I have my doubts the SFA will go in heavy handed. Technically it looks like we broke an SFA rule and I think we’ll get a small fine for that. Lose at arbitration and go ahead in League One next season with a bitter taste in the mouth.

Not sure if the transfer window has been extended?

I’d assume we’ll be picking up free agents which you can do whenever (I think? Or at least after the transfer window slams shut).

Don’t think that’s great unfortunately, there was too much negativity around the Club on and off the park, would have been better with a fresh start .

Brownlie, Sena, Docherty, Lyons, Rudden, Graham still seem fresh.

Sneddon and Penrice young enough to go on with, which leaves O’Ware and Bannigan who will surely be good enough for League One, Williamson and Gordon big question marks remain, and Mansell who I’d like to see go.

  11. I only made it along to about 8 matches last season but from what I saw the problem with Cardle for me wasn’t that he went into hiding, it was that he tried too hard to do it all himself. Not sure he has it in him anymore, even at League One level.
