Wonder if there’s any chance of us getting Ruari Paton. Scored 5 in 10 starts (13 appearances) for St Johnstone since arriving on loan in January. One season left on his contract with Port Vale but transfer listed.

Who are the rumoured signings then? I’ve seen us linked with Ben Dempsey from Ayr, Jay Henderson from Ross County, and Chris Mochrie from Airdrieonians. Any other rumours out there?

I phoned the club earlier this morning and bought tickets over the phone because I couldn’t do it online. Was initially told it was season ticket holders only, but then was asked “have you bought from fanbase before?” I said yes, she looked my details up on their system, and let me buy. So does seem to be that they’re trying to stop St Mirren fans buying tickets. They could definitely communicate this better though.

Cautiously optimistic about our transfer window so far - would think we're just looking to add depth in a couple of areas where we're light now. I'd say we definitely need another goalkeeper and a right-sided defender. Imagine that'll be sorted late in the window, probably via loan deals. Not sure we could really afford to bring in another midfielder when we've already got Crawford, Lets'ola, McBeth, Stanway, Turner, MacKenzie, Campbell, Falconer, Lockhart (and Martin) fighting for three positions in the squad. Would probably depend on how many of the young ones are capable of being in the squad or will be sent out on loan. Another out-and-out striker would be good to play second fiddle behind Watt, but if the management team think Horn (or Diack) is good enough to do it, then happy to give them a shot. Could instead look to bring in a versatile forward who can play wide and up front - especially when MacKay has missed a lot of football.

The Challenge Cup is all midweek this season - 9/10 December; 6/7 January; 27/28 January; 24/25 February; 28/29 March OR 4/5 April. I think only three league games could move to midweek slots, which would be matchday 7 (at home to Ayr United), matchday 28 (away to Raith Rovers), and matchday 34 (away to Airdrieonians) dependent on whether either of us progress to the Quarter Final of the League Cup or Quarter Final or Semi Final of the Scottish Cup, respectively. Obviously there's the possibility of weather related call-offs too...
