  1. My mate was through in Edinburgh last week and happened on one of those pop-up units selling football gear. Had a bit of Thistle gear, mainly the red, yellow and grey hats and scarves, with a white Partick Thistle logo. Also had some of the red training tops and Ignus hooped home shirts.

Seems like Greaves have sold off the stock as a job lot. Could explain lack of stock at their stores and the club shop. Hopefully we will get a new arrangement soon. I'm all out of hats and scarves :P

  2. Don't see Gary MacAllister being involved considering he is the new head coach of the New York Red Bulls MLS franchise. Working under Roxburgh and Houllier. Also he has previously applied for the role in his own right. So may not be happy to play second fiddle?

    I hope it's not Gary Pendrey :P

Would be good to bring in young managers like Jackie to work with the team on a rotating basis to keep things fresh. Did we not do something like this under Vogts?

  3.

This diplomacy ends now JF. WHAT'S YOUR ******* PROBLEM!?

I must be getting soft in my old age :P

I also think the accusations of laziness about Craig are a bit off. He hardly got the ball as Dumbarton beat away our aimless long balls. Against Livi he was running back to defend set pieces as well as ploughing a furrow up front. Against Dumbarton's more defensive approach he wasn't required to track back as much.

I also thought he and Doolan seemed to go for the same ball and got in each other's roaf a little.

Same as Livingston the week before, which wasn't all ticket. The atmosphere at Livi was distinctly low-key considering how important the game was, and yesterday it varied between nervous silence and grumbling (rightly so). I think there was some booing of the players, which is understandable considering the lukewarm pish that they served up during the second 45 minutes. I wouldn't do it myself, since it doesn't make me feel any better and doesn't really do anything to motivate the players, but if people think it's a good thing to do, that's their choice.

Cycle to the match and the Bowling Club pre-match were good. Pity the day out had to be spoiled by the players....

I hope you remembered to take your bike on the train home :P

  5. I thought the booing of the Dumbarton goalkeeper was a bit off. Seems like he suffered a similar injury to that which Scott Fox got against Dunfermline. Two good saves and probably Dumbarton's MotM in the first half.

  6. Well played by Dumbarton. They did the simple things right and restricted our chances outwith the first twenty minutes. We may as well of not bothered coming out for the second half.

Jocky Scott was scouting Aaron Sinclair for the Dons today. Probably our best performer on the day, imo.

I can't believe fans having a go at players. If they get that angry about a game of football they're probably better staying at home.

  7. A lot of the young lads in our first team are on £250 a week with a little appearance money. It is imperative we get behind them to get us through this slump. Some have knocked back part-time contracts which would have earned them more money to sign for us.

Their talent and determination could lead to other clubs interest not their lowly wages.

  8. Heading up the Rock for a pre-match dauner. Also scouting for viewing platform for the season closer ;)

With this being our closest league opponents hopefully the travel sickness will be light and we can claim a much needed win. Should be a great away support, I just hope we can create a bit of atmosphere to make it feel like a home game for the players. A lot of away games have been flat this season despite good numbers taking to the road. I appreciate not everyone likes chanting but some boisterous cheering even polite clapping would be better than rustling the toffee wrappers.

    Lets rock the Sons :D

  9.

I'm from a small town 12 miles west of Swansea, and it appears to have been used as a training ground for planners - all demolition and roundabouts. I can relate to Fife. I also take issue with your comment about "peg sellers" - a tad racist and stereotyping of a distinct ethnic grouping.

Don't rise to the bait Alan. Just rejoice in the beautiful football of the Jags n Jacks. I'd rather sell pegs than be Scum :P

  10.

The Swansea boys who come up every year themselves are sound but on the whole no to 'Jags/Jacks'.

Too late, the Jags/Jacks banner has been festooned at Wembley, probably again this season and is working its way around the grounds in the EPL :D

    Pleasing.

Swansea is a bit of a post-modernist architectural nightmare but that's the effect of the Luftwaffe bombing the place to bits.

Good on the Cardiff boys coming up, hope they don't blow they're charge for promotion this term. Would be an easy 4/6 points for the Jacks next season :P

  11. PTFC fan - experts in hysteria.

No surprises that everyone has got a ticket.

What about the cup final, oh no!!!!!!!

I am all booked up for final game already.

Fair point but contradicted by you spending fifty quid on hospitality at Dumbarton in case you miss out :P
