Man who doesn’t understand how football finance and resourcing work at small football club with no money continues to show how much he doesn’t know. Repeatedly.

You wanting same set up for our club ?

Only way McCabe works is if he's going to be head coach with a sporting director in charge of recruitment. However that's then 2 wages needing paid and compensation to Airdrie so complete non-starter.

I don't know why Ian Murray is getting touted? He's had a few goes at managing in this division and has never really done much. Probably his peak was with Dumbarton but the expectation was a lot lower. He couldn't get Airdrie out of league 1 and his spell at St Mirren was pretty bad. At Raith he started well but appeared to crumble as a poor Dundee United team put them under a little pressure.

He’s used to that under McNamara

In the summer he literally lost a complete team and had to recruit a new one on a very very limited budget. He has now started to turn that round. He also tries to play decent football. He knows the division and its finances. He’s worth considering.

Don’t talk a load of shxt he was given a team from McNamara for free as long as he played them

what planet are you on FFS

When he was appointed, I wasn't sure that Doolan had the "big" personality to be a good manager. An on-form and fully fit squad Thistle were clearly the best side in the Division that season, but the performances in the play-off games were as exciting as I've seen...up until the Sliding Doors moment with Ross Docherty's catastrophic pass straight out of play from the restart at Dingwall.

Last Season was good enough but not great. This season's recruitment has been disappointing (Crawford - why?) and the performances have been frankly dull...the thrashing by Dunfermline ended any illusion about the team's capabilities. Robinson's comments on moving to Hamilton were a clear sign that the Board had lost confidence in Doolan's recruitment abilities.

I think everyone realised Dolan's time was up. The almost total absence of abuse directed at the manager shows the respect Thistle fans have for the man.

The names mentioned as candidates are pretty uninspiring with several in the "please no" category. We really need a good appointment to take the club forward...and I would like an explanation of the reason why throughout the decades Thistle are perennially "cash-strapped" in comparison to apparently similar and smaller clubs.

Completely down to majority of current fanbase lowering PTFC standard’s and accepting defeat on and off the park

Doolan pins brought out matter of weeks after throwing away 3-0 advantage with 20 minutes remaining was outrageous yet expected with the happy clappers following our club

Sorry Bobby if you think that Neil Lennon would come to Firhill as manager you need to up your medication..

West End lovies could sort out his teeth when you create the club budget Neil Lennon pin

I don’t think , it’s more hope due to his experience and contacts within the game

Doolan was not the only architect of his downfall.  Others need to take a long hard look at themselves and change their behaviour.  Doolan will hopefully learn lessons and profit by them in his future career.  Graham is not the answer, nor is loading our overheads with extra layers of management.

Find a seasoned manager from outwith the usual suspects who will bring a radical change in the way we play.

We need to shed the amateurish, second best approach to running the Club.

well start by binning the happy clapping fan ownership set up

2 other slightly left field suggestions that might be worth a look

Callum Davidson - think he's done well at Queens Park given how poorly the club is ran and he always strikes me as being tactically quite good. I suspect he might welcome someone offering him an exit plan

Michael McIndoe - Edinburgh City were a financial basket case when he took over and looked destined for the lowland league. He's managed to make them competitive and play with a smile on their faces by using a fair amount of youth players.

However I suspect compensation would be an issue as both I think are under contract to 2026

Very good shout which sadly isn’t going to happen unless we find another £100K plus on top of what we paid Doolan

Queens Park are on a different level financially to anyone in Championship and even bottom SPL

Really gutted it's come to this but it's the right decision.

Hopefully Kris knows he's still an absolute legend at this club and today's decision does nothing to diminish this

I'm personally not comfortable with Graham getting this even as an interim. He was the most senior player in the squad which got into this position and therefore is at least partly accountable.

Rhys McCabe would be my choice for all that matters.

    Idiot !

Have you seen there results and how his teams selected, he’s a manager who’s selections are dictated by Consilium Sports aka Jackie McNamara

McCabe is STILL in his job because he told who to play that’s a fact

Do your homework before posting rubbish

Check Airdrie squad and see who represents 85% of them FFS

Why not wait and actually see him play before deciding if he is an acceptable signing.

It’s Ross County he’s came from no Real Madrid, players not playing for teams like Ross County are no good to us

imagine your another happy clapper who accepts mediocrity ?
Are you happy to have lack of progress in recruitment and improving our clubs squad ?

TJF through its membership (from all walks of life) and pins (and other merchandise)put in around £200k a year. Who else is willing to do that without taking something in return?

Fan ownership isn’t sustainable for us

I reckon jagfox was talking quality as opposed to quantity. And that too would be my point. Only occasionally have subs made any real impact. Key players get injured and we really miss them.
