  1. QuickSnap! (I cheated, and looked at the Members list.....)
  2. Looking forward to it too. Got a bit of confidence in the current team, and believe that we might come away victorious. Even pushed the boat out to make "a holiday" of it: a couple of nights in Glenrothes! At least I told Jaggernautess this is her holiday for this year.
  3. Not while under the influence of drink, hopefully.
  4. Great illustration. Looks like a tube/metro plan!
  5. Will he bring an advisor a friend?
  6. Would that be Leigh Griffiths? I'd been wondering where he came from.
  7. You could say exactly the same about us, except that we've fielded players that aren't from our youth system. Also except that we haven't (yet) beat the h uns, though we did beat the tims in yon friendly.
  8. We could go 2nd top on Saturday, or...... bottom (equal on points). "Tight" comes to mind.
  9. Eh? Falkirk: Played 8, won 3. Failed to win promotion last year and just about everybody wanted rid of the manager. They've had to cut back enormously on their "youth academy" at Stirling Uni, and are on the brink of very serious trouble if they again fail to win promotion.
  10. Free entry for serving members of the armed forces, and veterans: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-15275711 Should PTFC do this? If so, where should it stop? Free entry for off-duty/retired polis? Ambulance drivers? Carers? Mountain Rescue and Coastguard members? Women's Institute? Salvation Army? Edited to add: How could I forget?????: Asylum seekers.
  11. Continuing to play Devil's advocate, I'd say that Hamilton are the exception, and there's no sign of that being repeated. What other teams in Scotland with "youth systems" have seen substantial profits? On the other hand, several clubs have sold on players that they invested nothing in, including us (Harkins, Twaddle).
  12. That just about sums up the list of Partick Thistle youth players who've made any lasting impact whatsoever to the club over the last 20 years or so.
  13. These recent posts lead me again to question whether the money that goes into youth development is really the best use of resources. Any of the youngsters who it was thought might break into the team (Bannigan, Campbell, Fraser, Burns) seem pretty much out of the picture, eclipsed by other (young) guys brought in for very little cash (if any) from elsewhere. We struggle to keep a full-time first team squad on the go. I don't give much of a monkeys when I see the U-17s or the U-19s winning a match when the first team have just lost another game. Prioritize the 1st team!!! J. Lambie
  14. I expect us to do likewise at San Starko on Saturday.
  15. It basically looks like a training session for Spain, and one that they're not taking very seriously.
  16. 44 mins; game over. Pity, because Scotland haven't been playing too badly. Different classes, however.
  17. So far this reminds me of the Scottish Cup match at East End Park under the bunnet. Great Jags support, anticipation (by some) of getting a decent result, and losing an early goal..... Big difference: Spain play some really lovely football.
  18. By the law of averages he'll get a team soon. Or is he barred?
  19. How many passes without a Scotland player touching the ball before Spain scored (their first?): Sixty? Seventy?
