Rid Skwerr
Nipping over to Dublin for a couple of days at the end of May to meet relatives from the USA who will be on holiday there. Anyone got suggestions for a city centre hotel in the 3* range (maybe about £100 a night)? Thanks in advance.
German Jag
Was over for the Carling Cup some years ago. One of the places I stayed was the Best Western Plus Academy Plaza. Right in the centre, just off O'Connell St. Good breakfast, and with the current £:€ rate should fit price wise. The pub next door has the biggest big screen for watching sports in Ireland, 7 x 3 m. Rid Skwerr
Have finally booked up with German Jags's suggestion, mainly for the central location and handiness for the airport bus. (The promise of a good breakfast just swung it, too! )

Rid Skwerr
Meant to post something. .... Aye, it was very good. Great location right in the city centre and the airport bus stops outside. We arrived about four hours before check in time, but they were able to give us a room straight away. Unfortunately, the room looked onto a tiny central courtyard/machinery space and had no view but we weren't going to spend much time in the room so it didn't matter. We used the sightseeing bus a couple of times and it starts in O'Connell street only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The As you said, the buffet breakfast was good with all the hot food well cooked and kept properly warm. At about £100 a night it's not too pricy for a city centre hotel in a national capital. Thanks for pointing us in that direction, GJ, and enjoy your stay. 'Mon the Jocks.
