Rid Skwerr
From the BBC - Dundee United footballer Paul Paton has appeared in court in Glasgow accused of assaulting former Celtic goalkeeper Lucasz Zaluska. The 28-year-old denied repeatedly hitting Mr Zaluska on the head at Ashton Lane and Byres Road on 20 October, 2014. Mr Paton's representative Andy Phillips told the court the midfielder maintains his plea of not guilty. The case at Glasgow Sheriff Court was continued for trial next month. Mr Paton, of Paisley, joined Dundee United in 2013 after spells at Queen's Park and Partick Thistle, and has also represented the Northern Ireland national team. Never heard of his international experience before.
The Jukebox Rebel
Yes, on 30th May 2014 Paul became the 115th (currently known to me) to have played commonly as a Jag and as an internationalist: 30.05.2014 - Paul Paton (Dundee United) 1 of 1 - URUGUAY 1-0 NORTHERN IRELAND (Friendly @ Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Att: 45,000) I say friendly, but some would argue it was competitive - the 881st contest in the Unofficial Football World Championships (of which Scotland are the champions) - whose lineage began away back in the 1870s with Scotland v England! "The Unofficial Football World Championships (UFWC) is an international football competition contested in a simple boxing-style title system. Winners of title matches become title holders and Unofficial Football World Champions. An alternative to the World Cup, UFWC lineage goes back to the very first international match in 1872." http://www.ufwc.co.uk/about/
