I'm assuming to cannot see the library icon and your iPod icon on the left of your iTunes display which lists all your tracks. In theory you'd go into the library then drag and drop the items you want onto the iPod icon.

SirJohnLambie
You tried creating a new playlist putting all of your tunes in there and syncing the ipod to pick up that folder? I used to have a similar problem but it was with a really old ipod.
Graemei
Are you not able to go into the sync options, select the music tab and either sync all or select specific albums e.g. the one you bought from itunes or does it not show up there? Might also be worthwhile checking you have the most recent itunes version 9.2.something Also possibly re-create the itunes library and try again http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 Edited September 17, 2010 by Graemei
