JobbyMahoney
Due to truly dreadful planning I will find myself in Manchester next Friday night. Anyone know of any pubs that might have the game on? I know the championship starts that night too but hoping to find somewhere with a 14" portable in the corner
kni
If you have a laptop and a wifi connection, you will probably be able to get a stream on First Row Sports - http://firstrowuk.eu/.

kni
Oh no he wont! There are lots of other sites that offer sports streams. This site is often better than First Row - http://www.frombar.com/.

Charlie Endell
You could try the Lass 'O' Gowrie on Charles Street (near Oxford Road railway station) - it's a friendly pub and has some Scottish regulars - they can only say no! twinny
Should be alright in any pub with multiple screens. I don't know Manchester well enough for any recommendations but I'll be doing the same in the Wirral. Lived here a year and never had any need to watch football in the pub. Might have to be careful, there are two rugby league Super League matches that night with both Widnes and Wigan playing and one of their games will be on TV too. Could end up with pubs showing the Sheff Utd vs Notts County and rugby league and not letting you watch the mighty jags. I doubt there will be many people from Sheffield or Nottingham about though, so as long as you ask you should get.
