  9. When you get guys like Nevin, Collins and Hartley trying desperately hard not to sound as if they are slagging off their mate for his tactics, you know he got it terribly wrong. I have never watched such a defensive setup as Levein has produced since he took over. Did anyone else see that H*n bombscare try to play football in the penalty box and then 6 yards from our own byline????????????? The game was there to be won, and it wasnt until the last 15 mins he tried to get something out of it. My worry is that in his mind he has already written off the Spain game and will just try and make it damage limitation and keep the formation 10-0-0 for 90 minutes no matter what happens. All the other teams must get confidence from this now knowing that we will sit back and try and soak up pressure for most of the game. And now onto my pet hate about Scotland. Darren Fletcher. Great player for Man Utd, crap for Scotland. If he isnt giving the ball away, he's running about like a blue arsed fly. No leadership of the team whatsoever. Take the armband off him now!!!!!
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/dundee/9044022.stm Seem the HRMC has decided that it wasnt going to be messed about anymore.
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/dundee/9044022.stm Dundee may well wriggle out of this yet. Well until they have to pay the £250k compensation wanted by their former manager and assistant, and the money they owe for the ground, and for the training facilities, and anyone else that now decides they better get their money back for its too late.
  12. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6431515,00.html some interesting points to note in this report.
  13. What is surprising is that it has come as a shock to so many people involved with DFC, be they fans, players, staff etc. It was obvious they gambled on being in the SPL this season and went for it big time with wages etc. Then when it seemed as if promotion was already out of their grasp THIS season it all started going wrong. If they were top of the table would this all have bee swept under the carpet for as long as possible? Gordon Chisholm last week was on the radio saying that he had been as honest with the players as he could with the information he was getting from the board, ie. if lies had been told it wasnt his fault. Fair enough. But when a manager says things like that then it is clear he knows that things arent going well but has been told just to concentrate on the team. Whilst I aint no fan of DFC I still wouldnt want to see a team go to the wall (OF can rot in hell though), but they have been playing russian roulette with finances for a very long time and eventually you have to come to a chamber in the gun that isnt empty. Will be interesting to see what the SFL do now.
  14. I see they have also cut the admission for adults to £15 and concessions to £5 for saturday's game. Trying to get as many fans to go to the game by playing the "we are all in this together" card. Dundee gambled on getting promotion last year. It was all or nothing, and it didnt pay off. If things were going as well as they were last season for them then most of this would have been hushed up, as they hoped yet again to be promoted. But as that looks unlikely, then panic has set in. Many on the forums of both her and Dundee questioned how wise the decision to bring a whole bunch of players on "big" wages in was at the time with many fearing the worst if it went wrong. And boy did it go spectacularly wrong for DFC last season. I think people are now getting tired of clubs pissing money away and then pleading to the fans to help out as its THEIR club. Business go to the wall everyday for less than what many clubs owe, but because no one wants to go down in history as the person that put a club out of business they continue on. The tide maybe about to change. I wonder how many other clubs directors are sitting waiting nervously to see what will happen to DFC?
  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/dundee/9044022.stm No wages paid to players and staff today, but they've been told they will be paid next week. Not much use if you have bills/mortgages etc coming off before then. Seems to be a lot of "we'll give you the money later" going on at DFC. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder how close we are to the fit hitting the shan.
  16. I get the feeling that Dundee will worm their way out of this. They owe a lot of money to a lot of people, but the RIGHT people. Their debt was bought from the bank by a guy that isnt too bothered when they pay it back, and everyone else doesnt seem to mind either. Its a nonsense that a club can be treated so differently from any other business by ignoring something that not one of us would be allowed to get away with. The SFL will be completely toothless and make it up as they go along as usual if Dundee have to go into administration.
  17. Wouldnt be the only diddies at the club.
  18. When Ian McCall first came to Thistle I wasnt really overly impressed by his CV, but was willing to give the man time. After a few months of the same rubbish as we had been used to I voiced my opinion and many took offence to this. However, I cant lay all the blame at his feet. The players need to take a long, hard look at themselves, as do the board. PTFC is in decline and it seems the board are burying their heads in the sand and hoping that something will happen (eg drawing the OF away in the cup) that will ease the money worries. The most annoying thing for me is the lack of communication going on at the club just now, and I wouldnt be surprised if it was between everyone at the club and not just between the board and the fans. The players need a leader on the park and I havent seen a single player take the team by the scruff of the neck and drag them through a game when it is needed. Someone has to stand up and be counted. Without picking on the lad, Liam needs to start taking stock of his career before it is too late. He has scored only 4 goals in 22 games this year. If he wants to turn up in a flashy car then ok, but the truth of the matter is he plays for a 1st division club and this maybe his level. For ages we have been told that SPL clubs were interested in him, but with his contract due to end in May, I would be surprised if a 1st division team took him on his current form. Its up to McCall to make guys like Liam realise that there is more at stake than just their careers, which they can continue elsewhere. I cant imagine supporting another team if Thistle go to the wall!!!
  19. Sat not far from the great man today and couldnt help but wonder if he fancies a few games. Could he do any worse that what we've seen so far this season?
  20. I feel exactly the same, and I would bet that every fan that says he has had enough is just angry that our club is in such a sorry state. C'mon the Thistleeeeee
  21. Preston winning 3-1 with 6 minutes to play. Get a man sent off for timewasting, and lose 4-3!!!! Chris Iwelumo a hat-trick hero. What a game!!!!
