All the hatred and derision on this thread seems to be directed at Thistle not Partick. And just for the record, we all know the types who come to firhill and shout Partick. Why don't you all piss off back to your other team.

Perosnally, I think that Thistle is a far more marketable brand than Partick. You couldn't even fill a bus in Partick. How we are portrayed and how we are perceived affects the level of interest, relevance and potential support. As many have pointed out, it's not worth caring too much about a small provincial minded club.

I absolutely hate people calling us Partick. Most of us support Thistle because we are an intrinsically Scottish club, far removed from the traitorous affiliations of the old firm. Not because we have any particular affinity with Partick. There is no such thing as a Partick supporter. There are only Thistle supporters. I never trust players or managers who refer to us as Partick since they are obviously outsiders. But that's the problem. Partick men running the club instead of Thistle men. Look at Inverness. It takes about a week to say Inverness Caledonian Thistle and yet they've got the media trotting it out like some kind of political correctness while dismissing us as Partick. We are the original and definitive Thistle. We should be stamping that on the media at every opportunity. But there just isn't the will. No one at the club gives a stuff how were portrayed. We don't have a traditional strip, we don't have a traditional emblem, we're a very badly marketed club.

If you ask me, they've made as big a dog's dinner out of that top as was humanly possible, and black socks again, I give up.

Dundee united have obviously told Mcnamara they will pay the compensation for him. They've then turned round and not done it. So they've not only lied to us, they've lied to Mcnamara as well and landed him with an 80K law suit. Mcnamara obviously doesn't have the guts or gumption to blame them and risk his new position, so he's happy to let them make a pratt of him while he blames Thistle rather than stand up to the people responsible.

It gives me no pleasure to have to sit and watch teams like St Mirren playing in the premier league, beating old firm teams and doing all the things that we should be doing while we sit in ruins and oblivion.

"What a sensation. It's 4 - 0 Thistle". Am I the only one who doesn't remember Arthur Montford saying any such thing? It's a long time since I was able to watch my old VHS tape and I no longer have the equipment to check it, but I seem to remember it was "Bone! Walks the ball into the net! It's four nothing! Sensation!" Okay forget that. You won't believe this but, in the time it's taken me to write this, Thistle have just gone from 2-0 up to 4-0 up against Morton. Say it with me. Sensation!
