  1. Could pay for a few players...John Hillcoat instead of Hinchcliffe, anyone?
  2. That's hilarious. Only a footballer would complain about this. He says our squad played for 10 months of the year? They get paid to play football! If we are going to get statistical, they do very few hours for a their money. They don't have to sign for us again and the club are under no obligation to resign them. Hillcoat is actually implying that the club has done something illegal and it up to a player to sue us. They have done nothing wrong. The only lawsuit in this is defamation in his article suggesting that the club would contract or not contract players illegally. I'm so tired of footballers shooting their mouths off for a few quid from a shite paper like the daily record. It is a commentary on Scottish society that people pay for newspapers like this, and use them to 'educate' themselves. In Scotland, there is actual demand for pathetic articles like this and the Daily Record are pissing themselves laughing at the fact they only have to pay John ******* Hillcoat to fill their pages, rather than an actual journalist who might command a larger fee for an article worth reading to someone more intelligent than your average Scottish footballer.
  3. It's shady the way thistle let contracts run out, leave people hanging for the summer, then resign them later. Simon Donnelly must feel pretty hard done by considering he's been here for quite a few years, yet they let his contract run out just to scaff a few quid.
  4. So people seem to keep mentioning propco in the last couple of days, but i don't know what has happened. Have we been told somewhere that the money isn't going to be able to pay off the debt at all anymore or something? Can someone list the main events in the world of propco since we saw the model of it please? cheers.
  5. Paton at CB is about as useful as Paton as a left winger.
  6. Boyle looked good going forward and fitted in pretty well. QP weren't up to much. They had Longworth, Smith (formerly of ashfield) and Graeme Eaglesham as strikers at various points. All of these players were not deemed good enough for firhill or the 1st division, so we shouldn't expect anything much as a result of defending reasonably well against them.
  7. Simon Donnelly doens't like the red shorts. He told me.
  8. He's significantly taller than Cairney - they were next to each other in midfield today. He seemed pretty sharp.
  9. Grehan literally touched the ball about 4 times before getting subbed.
  10. This might be old news, but i noticed on the queens park website that jamie longworth if kilbirnie ladeside has signed there.
  11. I was meant to be playing cricket today, but that's off so im considering a quick change of plan. anyone know if this game will be going ahead and if it's definately the uni at 3pm?
  12. Did I mention that Sid is an ex-celt, by the way?
  13. "...there is no doubt Sid is determined to sizzle once more."
  14. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/sid-s-desperate-to-stay-on-goal-trail-for-thistle-1.1039766 Some of this is laughable.
  15. So are we seriously going to start the season with Hinchcliffe or Scully in goals? Cos I'll predict now that they would cost us a goal a game.
  16. That might be quite nice.
  17. Why is it that the board and the evening times always seem to talk about thistle in terms of a promotion push? I mean, I know they've got to be seen to be looking towards promotion, but noone is expecting us to be anywhere near top half this seaosn so why even entertain the idea? We're going to be shite. If we don't sign anyone else before the season starts that will seriously improve the squad, it will be mccall's fault for signing hinchcliffe, maxwell, donnelly and mcnamara with his budget, who will not between them be capable of contributing 4 players worth of first team football.
  18. Why concentrate on fitness when, even when we do, we end up with lazy/fat players by xmas time? How about shooting practice instead? Something we seemed not to have bothered with last season.
  19. I guess that is the plan, but two new questions spring to mind: how long would younger players accept being on lower wages for the 1st XI, and would donnelly, mcnamara, hinchcliffe and maxwell accept reduced salaries? I suppose they'd have to to keep their job...
  20. So if maxwell, donnelly, macnamara and hinchcliffe are saving the club money by doubling up as coaches as well as players, what happens when they can no longer play any more at all(the end of this season)? Will we then have to get rid of our coaching staff to replace them with others younger coaches who can play?
  21. Going by the title of the thread, this belongs in here... "Liam will be ready for the start of the season and if we can get a full campaign from him then I believe we could have a 20-goal return by January." McCall in the Evening Times.
  22. Yes. If the USA were playing an they mentioned Rangers because of Edu or Beasley, I wouldn't even think twice about it. The other day they played a montage of Scotland world cup moments because Hansen is Scottish and was in the studio - are any of you upset about that?
  23. It's ok though, his leaving has freed up a wage to sign Maxwell, Donnelly or McNamara!
  24. It's a British broadcaster. The ref and linesman are British and are the ones that we see in British football regularly. Obviously they're going to have more to say about them than some other country's refs/players. If Scottish people think English commentators are bad for 'going on', have a look down this messageboard. One thing more tedious than being Scottish during an English world cup campaign is supporting England at the world cup, whilst living in Scotland, and having to put up with the pathetic wee team, chip-on-the-shoulder perspectives of 9 in 10 people here. If you don't want a British perspective on commentary when you're watching Brazil-Chile, move to Rio or Santiago.
  25. If the English team is a shower of shite, what is the Scotland team? A flood of biblical proportions?
