Norgethiistle, I noticed this yesterday from a reply on another thread & was going to ask you about it but got waylaid with other things/folk. Genuine question, & not stirring, but what in your opinion have the BoD got right this season? I've said many times that he spectre of PropCo still hangs over us. The shop, the catering, the stewarding have all been outsourced with varying degrees of success from awful to woeful! I see no reason for this decision, if any if gives the away team the advantage of shooting towards their own fans. You have to wonder what the BoD's end game here is.

Several people also revel in being abusive to others also. Doesn't make them right either. I've already stated my feelings about the OP of this thread due to comments he previously made but didn't see many condemn them when they were asked outright if they thought it was right. There are faults on both sides. I'd like to think on the whole I've been constructive as to why & backed up why I have opinions. Unfortunately there are a number on this board who still revel in the abuse. I have stooped to their level with certain things but have come to the conclusion that they themselves are trolls of the opposite opinion. All very well singling out certain folk as the OP has. Should we all stoop to the same when they are being abusive to other posters? Playground stuff right enough.

To say I ridicule people like you who put style of play is wrong. If you, as many others obviously are, are happy going back down the leagues so long as we're playing football then you are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to mine also. There in lies the problem. Many on this board don't like when someone has a different opinion. Kinda defeats the purpose of a forum. For what it's worth though, I want to see us playing football the way we have. It can work, it pains me to say it but McNamara has proved that at DU. When it comes to this end of the season though, the first priority had to be survival. I don't want us to see the Chelsea park the bus tactics but we had to be stronger defensively. Now those that argue that it's ok to be relegated so long as we're playing football, a question, do you think we'd be able to attract the type of player to play football in those leagues? The previous manager put a lot of time & effort into the way we play football. The current manager has attempted to carry it on but in a higher league. We've noticed the gulf in class this year between prem. & 1st div football. The main thing being the defending. There was a lot of hard work went into getting the club into the position we got ourselves into this season. Because I said I didn't want us to go down & questioned the manager's tactics I get replies like yours Duke. If folk want a return to places like Forfar & Brechin along with 3 figure crowds & would be happy so long as playing football, then that's your prerogative. Unfortunately, I don't as doubt our club would survive that again. Many of those on this board have also questioned the manager's subs on more than one occasion. Because I questioned the fact he wasn't learning from his/teams mistakes you get certain @rseholes on this board abusing you. I'm a big boy, I can take it & I'm not going away. Yeah I've stooped to the childish level of others at times but I truthfully don't remember starting it. The only thing I've said is that I felt the manager/coaching staff out their depth. As far back as turn of year possibly I posted something along the lines of him needing help, whether that be on the coaching side or help with the scouting, I can't remember but I stand by that fact. I've never criticised Craigen or O'Donnell or whoever that others have done. I've expressed an opinion, I've explained my opinion, I feel as though I've said all along I'll be first to put my hand up & say I was wrong but still the abuse comes. Think a lot of Thistle 'fans' on this board should be taking a long, hard look at how they've behaved towards others. I had a look last night when I got in from work at previous posts from some of the main 'culprits' on this thread & there are some 'interesting' posts from some as regards opinions they had which proved to be wrong. Could be very childish & post them but I'll refrain from at the moment & see what happens. That's the problem with the internet, you always leave the evidence behind. In the meantime, it'll be an interesting Summer. Hopefully we will be able to kick on & I'll be proved wrong. As I said, I'd be delighted to be. Just cut the captain, leader,manager, legend crass- for now.

You commented on me not contributing anything else to the thread. You're 1st reaction was to ask me where I was the rest of that thread, I explained. It was in reply to one particular poster & was too busy watching the second half & making sure I got last orders to post anything else but thanks for coming. Perhaps from the view you've had from the Roseburn St stand (ok YouTube) you were happy with the defending of the 2 goals conceded?

Exactly the kind of p*sh & crass comments I'd expect from the opening poster. He thinks he is something on this board. I'll say again- forum, discussion of different opinions. We stayed up. I'm delighted, got the sore head to prove it. Playing top flight football next season was what we all wanted (well most of us. Peagreenboy & some others would've been happy playing in the 3rd division so long as we have the current manager playing football). For 45 minutes I had my doubts that it would be last night. Defensively again we were a shambles but that would be the players fault not the manager's!!! The hard work starts now. We can't repeat the mistakes of last Summer's transfer window leaving us short defensively & up front. If he can get the players in then with the young boy's being a year older/more experienced then we should be looking towards top 6 (not saying it's a target, saying we should be looking up). St Mirren & Killie will probably be worse off than us next year- assuming Killie survive- & The Highland teams once Butcher plunders Inverness (whatever league Hibs are in) & the mercenaries of County go back to their parent clubs. IMO we were better than these teams this season & that was (still is) the main reasoning I think the manager is out his depth. As I said in the first 'Archie must Go' thread, I'd be delighted if he proved me wrong. One result hasn't changed my view, & always knew he'd be in charge next year but he has to learn quicker than he has this season. I think the 'captain, leader, manager, legend' banner from a few weeks back was the type of sh*t you'd expect from old firm fans. Football is a business now more than it's ever been, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Results don't go the way they should have then the manager deserves to be under pressure whether you've been there a week, a year, or forever. Doesn't matter whether you're Davie McParland, Bertie Auld, John Lambie or Alan Archibald. At one point, when things not going as well as the fans expect, they have been under pressure. If they continued to fail to deliver then they'd have been out on their ear like Lamont, Rooney, Clark, Campbell etc. The modern game now analysed more than ever & no longer a case of putting a team on the park & telling your players to enjoy it. If this time next year, Archibald has ironed out the mistakes that have haunted us all season & achieved the same feat as this, as I said before, then I'll be the first on here to congratulate him. We've an interesting SPFL Summer ahead. I'm off to nurse a hangover.

Don't worry about the defending though. We're playing some lovely stuff. All that matters. Archie got this sussed. A free header ok as long as we play nice for the fans!

The BoD should be making sure there's a press release issued tomorrow morning for cut price tickets Saturday. Best case scenario: We're safe, Sat can be a celebration, a thank you to the fans & a few extra punters through the game!! Worst case: We need to win, we ensure a good crowd with everything to play for knowing that if it goes belly up the BoD have an extra play off game to make money!!

I'd have thought it might by you or me to be honest!
