  1. I wonder what will happen next season regarding buying match day tickets,

Will Thistle sell match day tickets online at their website with the option of picking which seat you want or will we still have to buy match day tickets at the ticket booth?

Also regarding ticket prices, im guessing admission prices will increase to £20-22 for adults

and under 16s ticket price will be £5, Thistle will probably scrap the under 16's go free.

    I don't think so.

  2. Well done to Thistle, a well deserved title... the best team/squad won. Good luck for next season.. it'll be tough!!

Just one thing. As an outsider, as a Morton fan, the 'Kids v Experience' t-shirts were a bit of a cheap shot. It's not exactly being good winners - unnecessary. Surprised at that.

    Thanks greenton. Respect to you.

Allan Moore's public utterances simply increased our players determination. Not only cheap but completely backfired.

I seem to remember a wee song in the Star & Garter last night that made this point more succinctly.

  3. I somehow can't quite take to 'Maryhill is Wonderful', should be 'Firhill' instead, but 'Love Of My Life' is a cracker ... However, in almost 30 years of watching the Jags, I've never before heard the 'Sh*te for sh*te' chant when the opposition made a sub. That gave me a giggle.

Firhill is our stadium but Maryhill is our home. It is a brilliant song celebrating the community. You should have heard it in the Star & Garter last night, very poignantly sung by proud locals.

  4. Genuine congrats on what has been an impressive title campaign for yourselves.

Respect to your players for going on such a great run worthy of winning most leagues, ( aye, i know what i said ;) ).

Enjoy your celebrations tonight and beyond and gd luck up with the big boys.

    the man.

Thank you. Magnanimous post. Thanks for sparring with us this season, The Man. Respect.

  5. Those racist comments were poor but just what you'd expect from an English man

I am English. I have lived in Glasgow for 24 years. I have supported Thistle for 22 years. During my time here I have been accepted for who I am, not what I am. You are a prick.

  6. There was a topic on this some years ago (maybe even started by me). It would be hard not to notice the appearance of the street vendors outside Firhill, at Livingston in the last few weeks. Big Thistle crowds, so opportunities to sell Thistle related merchandise, and to these guys' credit (though they'll be doing the same at Ibrox and Parkhead every week), there's a pretty natty and varied selection of scarves, flags, badges etc. The must make money, or they wouldn't do it. And they must be tolerated (a) by the club, and ( B) by the polis, or they couldn't do it. But why is it these guys? What they're selling isn't expensive to produce (but for example they've got a black scarf with red and yellow bars, which I've been wanting for a while), yet PTFC never offer such an item.

It seems to me that the Jags are missing out on an opportunity to make a not unreasonable amount of income from this kind of selling: scarves, ties, bunnets, badges, stationery, flags....THISTLE TARTAN ITEMS!!! We had it easy with Greaves these past few years, but now might be the time to try to crank up the commercialisation of the club as a brand. I know that that "c" word is sometimes dirty, but there can be good stuff sold that is popular.

    Good call!

  7. Just looking at the BBC league table and results over the last 10 matches: Morton have lost 4 of their last 10 !! :D The only teams in the division with worse records are Dumbarton, Dunfermline and Airdire.

We, ahem, are the only undefeated team.

    Champions without a doubt.

We had a bad period between mid- November and mid -January. That spell, along with the postponements, are the only things that kept this league so tight until recently.

The Coming of Archie (perhaps I ought to rephrase that!) coupled with the astonishing physical and mental strength of the players who have been playing catch up at the rate of 2 games a week for a long time now have finally seen off Morton's false hopes. It seemed to me that they bottled it on that fantastic Wednesday night. I expected them to have a real go that night. Strangely, they didn't. I couldn't understand why their fans turned up in impressive numbers then sat so meekly. Players and fans, perhaps, intimidated by the collective might of Partick Thistle. Champion!

  8. Somebody at United has a lot to answer for publishing that photo last night regardless of whether Beattie announced it or not. The two guys have had a lot of unnecessary stick over it. I wonder what they've let themselves in for up there?

I wish them both well. They have been great for our club. I really think that Erskine in particular has a bright future.

    BUT,

They are both aware that Scumbag owes the club that is currently paying their wages £80,000.

In my opinion it was a bad error of judgement on their part to allow a photo to be taken effectively sticking their fingers up to their employer. They ought to have said no, it's only a pre-contract ffs. Disrespectful to the club and, of course, to us.

I would drop them for the rest of their contract. I admit that if we weren't standing on the winning line and about to fall over it I might have a different opinion but we are so f**k them.

  9. Last couple of promotions we had some cracking T-Shirts

I love my Lambie 'Lets Celebrate' one and the 'Thistle Dae Brilliant' one from the next year.

Anyone think that this year's one might have a picture of a goat?

    Erm... No

  10. Willie Young at Brockville ( mid 90s? ) was classic. Huge Thistle crowd, out on the terracing too. Falkirk player goes down in the penalty box right in front of us; we're giving it 'cheat, cheat'. Willie looks t the terracing quizzically, points at the player and mimes a sleeping gesture - head tipped over to one side lying on a hand. Class - always had a soft spot for Dracula after that.

It was a great moment. Back in the days when ref's were allowed to appear human.
