  1. I'd wish they'd hurry up and let us know when the tickets go on sale! So I can come and get mine. But yes, if there was at least 4000 Jags fans in Firhill yesterday, then surely - with the team playing so well and for the first cup final we've been in for a million years - we'll sell our allocation rather easily and quickly.
  2. Just excellent to see so many inside Firhill today and a lot more than I thought there would be - fantastic! The atmosphere was great and we made Dunfermline look worse than ordinary. After a great start for us, we sat off for a bit and they scored a very undeserved goal - but we responded brilliantly, and then just got better and better in the second half. It's so good to see us never happy just to sit on a lead - the team just wants to push on for more goals. And some real peaches scored today! I think you could really see what it meant for the players at full time. A great day for everyone in red and yellow and Pars fans must recognise the best they can hope for this season is one place below us. The ref did seem to give a foul every single time one of their players fell over. Good thing he didn't spoil the game too much. WE'RE PARTICK THISTLE - WE'RE TAKING THE P!SS
  3. Reported on 5Live tonight that five other clubs in Scotland are heading into financial difficulty, although precisely who they don't clarify.
  4. Just looking at the average attendances of the SPL this year, the top league in our country, shows only three teams apart from Celtic, to get over ten thousand fans through the doors. Most are gasping around five thousand. And look at who the second-best supported team is! Regardless of the reason, if they do go bust, that will be many thousands of fans that will be lost to Scottish football and won't come back. Football support is a small and brackish pool and there are just too many fish struggling for air. I don't understand how full time football can really be sustained for too much longer with such poor interest shown by the public. In our case, it's difficult to envisage a more exciting season really - the best chance we have to win the league in donkey's years, and a genuine title fight against another strong team. And will there be much over 3000 at the game on Saturday? 2500? I don't know how anyone can sit in the vast, empty, arena of Firhill, and feel comfortable about the future. And I honestly don't know how well Thistle are really doing behind the scenes. But it is threadbare, isn't it? It always seems to be. I'm not really wanting to get into arguments. Fair enough if you think Scottish football's doing okay. Laugh away if you want to laugh.
  5. We have a long history of financial mismanagement. We also have a long history of appointing bawheids who buy bawheided players instead of decent ones, which has been the main reason we languish in the lower leagues for decades at a time. Schadenfreude is not really something we can revel in, I believe. We barely survived Save The Jags, and as already been pointed out, Thistle don't even own half the ground anymore. Do we pay all our bills in full and on time? Honest question. I don't know, but if we're criticising other fans for keeping schtum, then we should be fully aware of our own dealings. (Deleted. No unsubstantiated remarks please). Perhaps it's all obvious and I can stand corrected. It won't be pretty for us when the brown stuff hits the fan. It has nothing to do with the particulars of this case, of tax or PAYE so don't start berating me about the details. We all know Scottish football is circling the drain, and there's going to be an awful lot of casualties. Are we so sure, with our 1600 fans, lovely brown bing, and directors that fob off parcels of stadium to third party companies, that we will survive? That's super if you think so. Laugh away at other people losing their clubs if you wish, and tell them to go **** themselves. They're all h*ns anyway so they deserve it. I'm sure there will be plenty of people laughing at us when our time comes. But we'll stay righteous, won't we? even without a team.
  6. Are there any clubs that people on here would actually NOT want to go bust? I don't particularly like Hearts but I don't want their fans to lose their team. Marvellous hooligan songs too. What's the next verse? Off to chib a **** or a ******?
  7. I got my first Thistle shirt from them in 1994, but I would be utterly gobsmacked if they had any Jags stock there in the past ten years, even before the Greaves deal. Great place to go if you want the new Celtic, Sevco or Barca top though! They'll stock what sells I guess. On a related note, you know what the first shop you see after exiting the bus station here in Dundee? A Celtic shop. A dire state of affairs.
  8. OOOH OOOH REDNYELLA ARMEEE! Yassss. Finally. Saturday can't come soon enough!
  9. Is it a huge conspiracy against us, to bore Jags fans to death by playing the same team into infinity? Someone really dislikes Thistle!
  10. The newsagent billboards up here in Dundee today featured, "Houston - I'll walk if Levein Does", so he's sure to be gone. Good riddance. People like Charlie Adam shouldn't be blaming the media in this case. It's the fans that wanted Levein gone. And if the players want to blame anyone they can always look to themselves.
  11. Either of the Dundee clubs! Nice and easy for me to get to. Also, I know they drew against Celtic today, but I saw Utd play Ross County earlier in the season and they were bowfin', and I think the Jags on a good day would properly do them.
  12. Aye. Get us in the red and yellow, PLEASE
