  1. if they ML feels like it - it took them 6 weeks to announce the details of the disciplinary hearing for the Ospreys last season. And given it's the WRU that are holding the hearing, I don't expect much to come of it. (i'll be honest though, im not sure what Morgan has been cited for) ------ Glasgow Warriors have received a major boost ahead of this Friday night's Magners League clash against Connacht (17 September, kick-off 7.30pm) as they welcome Scotland international flanker, John Barclay, back to frontline action. Warriors head coach Sean Lineen is continuing to ponder over final selection and today named a 26-man squad for the Friday night showdown - which returns to the regular time-slot of 7.30pm. However, Lineen has not hesitated to hand Barclay the captaincy which he inherits a week before his 24th birthday. The flanker takes over the role from fullback Bernardo Stortoni who has led the team over the past month. Although delighted to be handed the added on-field responsibility, Barclay admits there are leaders all around him who will have a significant impact on the team. He said: "I captained the team a couple of times last year and enjoyed the challenge but we've got guys around me with experience and who have captained the team in the past, so they will be helping me out." Barclay has been sidelined due to an Achilles injury which has ruled him out of selection for the first two weeks of the Magners League season. That opening fortnight brought with it a home win over Leinster before a disappointing away loss to Newport Gwent Dragons. Having sat out those first two games of the season, Barclay admits he experienced two very different kinds of frustration. "It was difficult watching the Leinster game," he said. "Obviously you want to be involved, but when the guys won I was delighted, especially with the manner in which they won. Watching the Dragons game last weekend was a different kind of frustration. "But I'm certainly looking forward to being back, being involved and being in a Glasgow Warriors shirt again." Glasgow supporters under the age of 18 are reminded that Friday night's game is a 'Band of Warriors' fixture. Members of Glasgow Warriors' young supporters club, Band of Warriors, receive two free tickets (an adult and a child) to a game at Firhill and the briefs issued so far this season can be used on Friday night. Those who would like to sign up to attend a future game should log onto www.bandofwarriors.co.uk The final team selected to play Connacht will be announced before 12noon on Thursday (16 September). Glasgow Warriors squad to play Connacht at Firhill on Friday 17 September (kick-off 7.30pm): Forwards: Ryan Grant, Ed Kalman, Moray Low, Kevin Tkachuk, Jon Welsh, Pat MacArthur, Fergus Thomson, Richie Gray, Aly Muldowney, Tom Ryder, John Barclay, Calum Forrester, Rob Harley, Ryan Wilson, Richie Vernon Backs: Colin Gregor, Henry Pyrgos, Ruaridh Jackson, Duncan Weir, Rob Dewey, Max Evans, Graeme Morrison, Peter Murchie, Hefin O'Hare, DTH van der Merwe, Bernardo Stortoni
  2. And ofcourse that Glasgow have lot's of key players still to return to the side. The pack lacked any direction, were second to every ball, and were generally poor. Not even the NZ backline could have won that one if they had to play behind our pack. Although, having said that even if they had been first to every ruck, they still wouldn't have stood a chance, such was the 'bending of the rules' going on from Newport - and going unpunished by Damasco. The yellow cards were terrible aswell - the first one, what did he do wrong? he was on his feet, he came in from the right side? I't should have been penalty Glasgow for holding onto the ball... And as for the second, when the F*ck will the ML realise we NEED neutral touch judges? The Scottish ones favour the opposition to try and seem 'fair' - the welsh and irish ones nail their colours to the mast and only officiate one side. How DTH got binned for what can barely be described as handbags, yet Aled Brew (who was at it just as much) walks away scot-free? And then there was the next incident between those two, where Aled Brew decided to lift DTH, turn him and drop him on his head. Thats a red card and a 6 week ban right there - but the ref ain't interested?? Good to hear John Barclay is nearly fit again - He won't be afraid to step up and take the leadership of the pack in Big Al's absence. Suddenly our pack is looking more like the formidable force it was for much of last season - now lets get into these westies on friday night..
  3. Iv'e had that same model for 3 or 4 years, and never had a single problem with it. Can't comment on the converter software, because I havn't yet come accross a format that wont play on mine, and nor can I comment on the customer support because I have never used it - but the player itself I have had no problems with whatsoever. The same can't be said by some relatives of mine, who have found apples customer 'support' to be non-existant.
  4. A fine choice! Iv'e had one for about 4 years - another familly member has gone through 3 ipods in that time. just write "warning" on a postit note - will do the same job Going back to the original point - Iv'e heard "phonebox finder" is a popular app on the iphone 4...
  5. I'm not sure I can handle a whole season like last night! A decent 22-19 win over Leinster in the end, after coming back from 10 points down at half time. Would love to know what was said in the dressing room at half time - the first half, Glasgow were truly awful. Both tries came from Glasgow howlers (the first a line-out on half way that flew into the arms of Jamie Heaslip and set him on his way, the second the Glasgow players were too busy trying to kick the ball over our try line to just fall on it, and eventually it was a Leinster hand that grounded it. Second half - what a difference. our set piece still struggled, but suddenly Glasgow were looking the better side in open play. Jackson slotted a couple of good penalties in the 1st half (one from the touch line) but Duncan Weir shaded this round, playing a nice pass to put DTH in the our try, before disecting the posts with the conversion from the toucline. With the scores level, he then slotted a drop-goal and then a penalty to edge us ahead, the latter ultimatly proving the winner - and winning himself the man of the match award in the process. For anyone who is interested, the match in full is available here, and there will be highlights on STV tomorrow night at 11:15 Oh, and top of the league right now!
  6. Wasps 36-17 Glasgow not the best by way of final preparation, but still fairly confident (Wasps are looking a very good team right now - they beat Leinster 41-6 in Dublin last week). At least we managed to bag a couple of tries against them. I just hope they are beginning to feel a bit of strain from the AP season by the time we return next month... Glasgow v Leinster on friday, live on BBC Alba. Not that anybody will be watching - apparently Scotland are playing some mob called Lithuania at the same time... bit annoyed about that...
  7. This thread is comedy gold! And how can QPFC be poor? they don't pay their players anything, and own one of the best football stadiums in Europe. (OK, I don't believe that last bit, but UEFA seem to think so )
  8. Speaking as someone with no loyalty to a particular club - i would make the following observations: - Football is too expensive for a whole generation of fans. Obviously schemes like PT's under 16's go free is helping in this regard, but how many young lads between 18 and 25 (traditionally a large section of the football clubs support) can afford the prices in division 1 - never mind the SPL? (the situation is even worse in England - only 1 in 10 supporters at an EPL game last season was under a certain age. Can't remember the exact age, but think it was 35?) This is the reason we should bring back terraces a la the German model - not the entire ground, but atleast an area in each ground where tickets are far cheaper (even if the view isn't as good as it is from, say, the JH stand). Maybe the powers that should be should force clubs to sell, say, 10% of their tickets for under a certain price - and leave it to the clubs whether they make an area standing, or wether they just sell certain seats dirt cheap. (as a plus side, if you forced Rangers to sell 5,000 tickets at say £10, instead of £25, thats a drop of £75,000 per game. might level the playing field slightly) - playing the same sides over and over is tiresome, and needs to change as soon as possible. My preference would be for 2 divisions of 16, top 2 go up - next 3 join 3rd from bottom in a play-off. Below that, regional leagues - but we are going over old ground here. -Scottish football is in a bad way, but all is not rossy in England either. The EPL is unsustainable, and is heading obliviously into a major crisis. Why is it that clubs are seemingly incapable of heeding the warnings? Cardiff have survived 4/5 winding up orders in the last few months, yet have spent big in the summer - if they don't go up, they go bust. end of. Is it wrong I am hoping it's the latter? bristol's Chief Executive has just resigned because he refused to pay players more than 10K a week - the rest of the board said that was stupid and would make it impossible to survive in the EPL. 10K a week... thats 520K per year, plus bonuses! per player! Even that is unsustainable, never mind paying them more. At least in Scotland we have gone through it already, have realised we are seriously fecked and now need only convince the Old Firm to agree to changes. The ideal scenario, in my opinion, would be for the SFA to take control of the SPL, SFL ect and force through the changes we all now are required. Unfortunatly, I doubt that even could happen, never mind likely to.
  9. Not a reason to change the rules - you can fit a Rugby pitch in most football stadiums, and its only really something that happens on our island (and in Argentina). of the Aviva Premiership sides, Worcester, Gloucester, Harlequins, Bath, Newcastle, Leicester and Northampton all have dedicated Rugby grounds, while Leeds share with a Rugby League side. Infact only London Irish, Saracens, Wasps and Sale share with football clubs, and Sale actually own their ground, while Wasps are likely to become primary tennants at their new ground - and Saracens were talking about a move to the Olympic Stadium. Obviously only Glasgow share with football in Scotland, while in Wales only Cardiff and Swansea share with football - Newport and Llanelli own their own grounds. In Ireland, a 'football' ground has a pitch far bigger than a Rugby pitch, but the IRFU teams play in grounds that can accomodate large pitches. In France - from the Top 14, I think only Racing Metro groundshare. Although a few of the grounds are municipal stadiums, some with athletics tracks. In the southern hemisphere, there are some rather large rugby stadiums - Newlands, Kings Park, Ellis Park... No need to share with football in South Africa (although the Boks are taking on New Zealand at FNB Stadium today - formerly known as Soccer City). While New Zealand and Australia are more likely to share with cricket or AFL (in Aus) Whhy reduce the size of the pitch for the sake of a few grounds in GB? As for reducing to 13 players and dooing away with the scrum - why not just go and watch Rugby League? The fact no-one folow Rugby League would suggest there is no appetite for this! FK's should be used more often, not less, to reduce the number of games decided by teams kicking penalties.
  10. Glasgow 22-23 Sale Attd: 2,290 Now, ignore that result - it doesn't mean anything... Sale came up to "win at all costs", and apparently all costs means tackling players around the neck, smacking our stand-off on the head with your fist after he gets the ball away, punching our players when they take exception to the afformentioned high tackle (not handbags, a full-fisted punch landed right on his nose), flying into rucks at speed and off their feet, and tackling our players in the air. In contrast, Glasgow were more interested in playing some rugby and seeing what they could do. Although Not that Sale kicking every penalty they got did them much good - they missed all but 1!) Some very decent stuff from Glasgow - the kicking game that Dan Parks brought will be missed when results matter (Jackson has no kicking game atall, and Weirs needs some work), but we were playing some really exciting stuff will ball in hand. All the young lads seemed keen to make an impression (particular praise for Murray McConnell - the 17 year old who saved a try by getting underneath a Sale player who must have been 15 stone heavier than him!) Sales first try was dubious to say the least (every time somebody got near to tackling them, a second Sale player put themselfs between ball carrier and tackler), and the second try came direct from an awful kick-off - but the players involved won't be trying that again. After last night, im feeling much more confident about the season ahead though - we may not get the same results as last season, but I suspect the games will be far more entertaining with the team looking to throw the ball about and offload in the tackle (and SL said earlier in the week this was the plan) and run at the opposition. Once we get our best players back though, We have the makings of a very decent team here - I reckon we could be competing with Newport and Munster for 4th spot this season, and should certainly still be aiming for the top half (which after the players we lost, and the injury crisis right now, would be a great achievment) Fortunatly, as this is a RWC season, Munster and Leinster have quotas impossed on how many games their Irish Internationals are allowed to play - and neither are likely to be allowed to use those players in september when they both visit Firhill.
  11. well thats the players job, to play well enough that it makes people want to watch every game Im sure there will be a few in that camp - but hopefully it will be easilly outweighed by the people who get to watch the team for the first time on tv and decide to attend a game or two. Only time will tell if this is the case - but the early evidence if fairly good. The fact our ST sales have increased by 3 times the rate our attendances rose last season suggests there is a growing core support who want to attend mor eoften, even with the TV deal being announced. Team has now been announced for friday: 15 Bernardo Stortoni CAPTAIN 14 DTH van der Merwe 13 Max Evans 12 Rob Dewey 11 Federico Aramburu 10 Ruaridh Jackson 9 Henry Pyrgos 1 Ryan Grant 2 Fergus Thomson 3 Moray Low 4 Aly Muldowney 5 Richie Gray 6 Ryan Wilson 7 Chris Fusaro 8 Richie Vernon Substitutes: Paul Burke, Alex Dunbar, Calum Forrester, Finlay Gillies, Rob Harley, Peter Horne, Ed Kalman, Pat MacArthur, Murray McConnell, Peter Murchie, Colin Shaw, Stevie Swindall, Kevin Tkachuk, Duncan Weir great to see Bernie captain the side - always comes across as such a nice guy, always gives his all in a Glasgow shirt, has only had 1 bad game since he signed and, according to SL, is so proud to be leading the team out tomorrow. Think I will need to cheer a little bit louder than usual for him. Will be good to see Steve Swindall back in a Glasgow shirt (even if it is a temporary measure), and looking forward to seeing some of the new signing in action. Surprised we managed to get a whole 29 players who are fit! (although some - Murray McConnell - arent actually singed to Glasgow) Really glad this horrible 'close season' thing is finally over!
  12. In a word: no. Obviously, its not as simple as that - and yes I do think we will see a small drop (or hopefully a smaller-than-other-matches rise on the previous season, rather than a drop ) But as the season progresses I think it will do more good than harm. Dont think there will be too big a drop though - only the big games are on TV (Leinster - they dont come much bigger than them, Ospreys - a grudge match after last seasons farce, and Edinburgh - being on tv didn't hinder us last season) and for the supporters who have been before and know a bit about the league, these are the games you want to be at. And for prospective supporters who have never been before, if they can watch some games on TV it may boost their chances of actually making the effort to get up and go to watch a team they actually know something about One of the main problems for us is that, unlike Thistle, or Rangers, or Celtic ect. where the team rarely go more than 3 weeks without a home game (and more often than not, are at home every other week), we can sometimes have long periods without games (4 weeks during November, and you can have away games either side of that making it 6 weeks without a home game). If you arent a die-hard fan, it can be quite hard to know when your next home game is, or what has happened to the team ect. Hopefully with nearly every away game being televised, we will see people feeling more connected with the club. What will also help is that, with 4 extra games, we will be getting games during international windows, so there wont be such long gaps. I think there will be bigger issues that affect crowds than games being televised - aside from the obvious (performances on the pitch), playing the Ospreys the same day as 'the filth' have their first riot of the season at Parkhead, playing 2 games (Leinster and Newport (HC)) at the same time Scotland are playing football qualifiers (and Wales are playing at the same time when Newport visit), playing Cardiff on a 6 Nations weekend (Wales are in Edinburgh, so could be a positive affect) ect. will have as much, if not more, affect than BBC Alba showing games. Now, if the televised games were Connacht and Treviso, things might be different!
  13. do we feck! (and Firhill road is normally closed at FT for the Rugby - apart from a game or to at the end of last season)
  14. The full Broadcast shedule for the first 12 rounds is out now - and 7 Glasgow games are live on BBC Alba (and BBC iPlayer). only the homes games versus the Italians, Munster, Connacht and the away game at Cardiff (although as yet no date has been set for this one, and hence no host broadcaster has picked it up yet) arent televised. BBC Alba are also showing 8 Edinburgh games in that same time-frame (including both derbies, which have been counted twice), with the only away games not being shown being away at Cardiff (a feed is available from S4C, but BBC Alba already have a game that night) and both trips to Italy (Italians dont have a host broadcaster yet, so no feed to use) not bad going, since only 3 games were broadcast last season!
  15. just back from a Q&A session with Sean Lineen, Kenny Baillie and some of the summers signings at Firhill. First of all, Kenny was once again keen to stress the event was held at Firhill because that is where we play, and that is where we will continue to play. He then spoke about the efforts off the pitch to increase the fan-base, comenting that our crowds rose by 16% last season, and that if we continue that growth this season we will be not far short of the 5,000 mark (putting us on a level playing field with some of our english rivals in European Cups), and perhaps the best statistic of all is that Season Ticket Sales are 41% ahead of where they were at this time last year. No actual figures, but I believe that would give us in the region of 1,400 ST holders (still a long way of the 13,000 Leinster have - and they have a waiting list on top of that now). To put that in perspective, our first game at Firhill had an attendance of 1,000, while the first competitive game was around 1,300... The 'Band of Warriors' (juniour supporters club) now has 1,900 members and is still growing steadilly towards the SRU-set target of 4,000. Now, if only we can ensure all 1,900 attend every game He went on to state there were 3 main target groups (U 18's, the Glasgow Rugby comunity - ie clubs - and the greater general public) He conceeded more could be done to promote the club to the greater public (but we actually have some advertising now - there is a taxi covered in Glasgow colours revealed yesterday, and apparently there is an advert running on Clyde 1 for fridays friendly), but said in his experience (and he is the ex- Hawks CEO) the clubs in Glasgow were begining to accept the road we have gone down and get behind the team. Sean Lineen says the entire team is currenntly injured (well, he didn't explicitly say that, but he conceeded there were lots of injuries) Johnnie Beattie and, I think, James Eddie are both long-term - in the region os 6 months - but the rest he hopes to have fit in the near future. He wasn't atall happy Chris Cusiter travelled to Argentina - blaming that for his knee injury worsening. In his words, "the only positive from the Argentina tour is the way Moray Low performed. He is a man now." TBH I would tend to agree. He is also really pleased to have signed a player of Federico Aramburu's quality, and despite hardly speaking any english a massive grin came across his face when kenny Baillie said the words "try" and "RWC semi-final" in the same sentence Apparently he played his club rugby in Argentina with a certain Bernardo Stortoni, and when Bernie signed for Bristol he went to Biarritz. Hopefully being re-united will bring the best out in both of them. And while Bernie played a large part in bringing him to the club, according to Sean, "the clincher was when he played at Murrayfield in november and dumped Sean Lamont on his a*se" BBC Alba will be showing 5 games from Firhill each season for the next 4 years minimum (will likely cover play-offs aswell if we make it), and will also be showing 5 games from Murrayfield and 12 games from Ireland, Wales and "hopefully Italy aswell" (all involving Glasgow or Edinburgh). Essentially, this amounts to BBC Alba having a game at 7.05 on a friday in EVERY round of the season, and they have had to alter their schedule and move the news to 9pm to accomodate the Rugby. There is still hope of STV continuing their highlights programe, despite loosing the derby games, and to quote Kenny Baillie, "the ball is very much in their court" On the issue of referee's, Sean Lineen admitted he gets just as annoyed with them as us supporters do, and agrees the position that TJ's are non-neutral is a disgrace. He took great delight in the highlights of the Dundee game showing the ref being knocked on his erse at one of the tries, and says that he has had long chats with referees over the summer about the new interperetations and the basic fact is they now very much favour the attacking team. Because of this, he says glasgow will look to play an exciting, offloading game this season. This is apparent in the videos of the Dundee HSFP game, and if its carried into the new season then there should be some exciting rugby this coming season at Firhill. Very much looking forward to friday night now - a new attacking style of play, some exciting players in the Sale side (if Mikaele Pessamino comes up he is worth the admission fee alone) and what will be a very popular choice for captain
  16. Glasgow get their season off to a flying start today with a whoping 71-7 away win... ... Shame it was only against Dundee FP's At least it might finally put to bed the suggestion we should scrap the pro-teams and enter our club champions into the HC. Think today may have been a wake-up call to the vast difference in intensity between professional rugby and the amature game these days - and it wasn''t even that strong a Glasgow side! (no Jackson, not Cusiter, no Evans's, no DTH, no Morrison, no Beattie. We were supposed to be in France atm playing Top 14 opposition, but had to pull out because we didn't have 15 players fit/available. Fielded a 17 year old scrum-half today!) Sale will provide a must sterner test a week on friday - some cracking players in the Sale squad (if he plays, Mikaele Pesamino is worth the admission alone - saw him playing for Samoa in the IRB 7's at murrayfield back in June, just hope he is just as exciting to watch in the XV's game) but hopefully we can get another good performance. (hopefully they will come up here to play Rugby, unlike Wasps in last years friendly...)
  17. last season you took a voucher from the back of the book (they seemed to accept any voucher from 15-20, so you could use it multiple times - this season the voucher is printed "PTFC League Match" so you can only do it once) to the portacabin behind the JH Stand, and they will exchange it for a match ticket.
  18. no mention on the covering letter, but there is a voucher with "PTFC league game" printed on it - assume it is valid for any game (as it doesnt say otherwise) as much as it pains me to say it - a season of consolodation would be great. Can see them being in the running for the play-offs again, but dont think we will have the experience to actually pull it off - Parks is obviously a great loss, and loosing 2 of the back row for the first few months will be a major blow although we do have some decent cover there fortunatly. In previous years when we have had Jackson at 10 the rugby has been far more entertaining (5 tries at Bath on his debut), but the defence has been posted missing numerous times. Im sure with game time he will improve that though (or atleast I hope he does). The main problem with Jackson is that he seems to break every time someone goes near him Duncan Weir (signed from Hawks at the end of last season, made his debut v Leinster) looks far more solid, and has been widely tipped to be a great player - Peter Wright (his coach at Hawks) has suggested he could even have an outside chance of earning a place in the RWC squad next year. We seem to have a reasonable fixture schedule though - we face both Leinster and Munster in the first 4 weeks, and I am told none of the Irish international players will be coming over (certainly not for Leinster, possibly not for Munster either), we get Cardiff during international windows (both times) so could benefit there aswell. ---- Just listened to an interview with our CEO Kenny Baillie (that lasted 30 minutes!) talking about all sorts of aspects of the club. One of the points he was talking about an aim of getting crowds up over the 5,000 mark, to which he was asked "and where will these 5,000 crowds be? I think there was a believe when you announced the Scotstoun deal that that was a back-up to Firhill and the club may move in the future" Kenny basically said that Firhill has been a good home to us, that the players love playing there, that he feels the fans have warmed to it and got into a routine of going there, and that there was "absolutley no plans to move away from Firhill"
  19. no way Celtic Rugby (if they are even still called that) would consider it - there have been games in the past where neithe club are happy with the date, both agree to play it the day after (Munster v Leinster last year was on good friday + pubs cannot open on good friday in Ireland = lots of unhappy rugby fans) yet CR forced it through on the friday. Anyway, season books came through this morning - and the covering letter says the game will be on monday 27th december (with the away leg on the 2nd of January - when are the Old Firm and Edinburgh Derbies likely to be played that weekend?). And you Thistle Season Ticket holders arent the only ones who have to exchange vouchers for the Edinburgh game before October 31st - even we have to do it! (although atleast it means we can sit with friends who dont have season tickets - and at a discount £10 aswell) Also notice that the public sale tickets go up to the higher £20 rate 1 week before kick-off, rather than 3 hours as per usual - makes sense though from the clubs point of view since it starts getting complicated when selling reserved seats on the night. Would imagine their hope is it sells out before match-day... And just noticed something (which was announced months ago) which hasn't been mentioned in this thread: from next season BBC Alba will be producing 8 live games a season (that is, where they are the host broadcaster filming matches in Scotland) and will also enjoy reciprocal streams for game being produced by BBC Wales/S4C/BBC Norn Ire/RTE/TG4 - meaning there will be at least one game on BBC Alba almost every week of the season
  20. Which throws up the following clashes: Partick Thistle v Dunfermline (25th sept) Glasgow v Munster (24th-26th sept) Partick Thistle v Raith Rovers (26th December) Glasgow v Edinburgh (24th or 26th Dec) Partick Thistle v Morton (23rd April) Glasgow v Llanelli (22nd-24th April) September and April should be fine on the pitch I would have thought, but that december one could be a real pain in the erse - Christmas eve really isn't a great time to be holding the game, and although it gives a full day for the pitch to recover I doubt the groundstaff will be too pleased with working christmas day. Ofcourse the other option is to play both games on boxing day (football first, obviously)? or Glasgow could move to a different venue? (there were murmours about Hampden being used last season for this fixture) Would have been much easier though if we were at home on hogmanay.
  21. And at long last, the Magners League fixtures for the coming season: Glasgow Warriors v Leinster - 3/4/5 Sep, Firhill Dragons v Glasgow Warriors - 10/11/12 Sep, Rodney Parade Glasgow Warriors v Connacht - 17/18/19 Sep, Firhill Glasgow Warriors v Munster - 24/25/26 Sep, Firhill Ulster v Glasgow Warriors - 1/2/3 Oct, Ravenhill Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys - 22/23/24 Oct, Firhill Scarlets v Glasgow Warriors - 29/30/31 Oct, Parc y Scarlets Glasgow Warriors v Aironi Rugby - 5/6/7 Nov, Firhill Blues v Glasgow Warriors - 26/27/28 Nov, Cardiff City Stadium Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso - 3/4/5 Dec, Firhill Glasgow Warriors v Edinburgh - 24/25/26 Dec, Firhill Edinburgh v Glasgow Warriors - 31 Dec, Murrayfield Munster v Glasgow Warriors - 7/8/9 Jan, TBA Glasgow Warriors v Blues - 11/12/13 Feb, Firhill Connacht v Glasgow Warriors - 18/19/20 Feb, Sportsground Glasgow Warriors v Dragons - 25/26/27 Feb, Firhill Ospreys v Glasgow Warriors - 4/5/6 Mar, Liberty Stadium Glasgow Warriors v Ulster - 25/26/27 Mar, Firhill Aironi Rugby v Glasgow Warriors - 1/2/3 Apr, Stadio Zaffanella Benetton Treviso v Glasgow Warriors - 15/16/17 Apr, Stadio di Monigo Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets - 22/23/24 Apr, Firhill Leinster v Glasgow Warriors - 6/7/8 May, Royal Dublin Society
  22. Glasgow Warriors' Heineken Cup Pool 6 fixtures: Friday 8 October, Glasgow Warriors v Dragons, Firhill, kick-off 7.30pm Sunday 17 October, London Wasps v Glasgow Warriors, Adams Park, kick-off 1pm (Sky Sports) Friday 10 December, Glasgow Warriors v Toulouse, Firhill, kick-off 8pm (Sky Sports) Saturday 18 December, Toulouse v Glasgow Warriors, Stade Ernest Wallon, kick-off 2.30pm (Canal+) w/o 14/15/16 January, Glasgow Warriors v London Wasps, Firhill, date & kick-off tbc w/o 21/22/23 January, Dragons v Glasgow Warriors, Rodney Parade, date & kick-off tbc
  23. This has been confirmed by the club as being the case for this season aswell 22m for the ingoal is a maximum - the only ground I can think of that actually has that in Europe is Murrayfield (Croke Park used to aswell). Im not sure there even is a minimum - some in England are tiny! I remember for the last RWC they asked the SRU to reduce the size of the pitch (not just the ingoal area, I think) at Murrayfield to make it identical to the other RWC venues. Sale Sharks are visiting Firhill on friday 20th August (7.30 KO) - the Night before Morton v Thistle I believe. HC fixtures are announced tomorrow lunchtime, apparently.
