  1. New strip is shit. Poor quality of finish aside, it had the potential to visually be the best thistle strip since the last best strip. But they fckd it with the stupid yellow panel/removing two red stripes to make a rectangular space on shirt, and pasting sponsors logo which is now more square than rectangular. As for the back, there was no need for the panel, the whole shirt is now a dogs breakfast, can see this being a poor seller, first because of the fckd design and secondly when people see how poorly manufactured and finished it is. Huge **** up by the club on this.
  2. You are. Pottytrained posted somewhere a couple of weeks ago about the figures, quoting some old articles and other infi, after I posted a semi accurate analysis of our debts pre and post propco. To summarise: Pre propco, we were £1.6 mill in debt. Propco provided a £1 mill cash injection. Of that £800k went to half rhe debt to 800K. Where the other 200k went, was unspecified, and it seems no onecan say what it went to or was spent on (the general acceptance or assumption was it went towards costs for that season or budget). (the cynic in me says the propco boys or board took their 20% cut and gave themselves a big pat on the back and a mega jolly, for a job well done in halving the debt in one day..............,....,......i am joking of course....i think)
  3. People like uberteeb yodajag and ianmac talking a lot of sense. As pointed out by Ianmac and others before, EVERYONE needs to look at the bigger picture and longer term past a couple of games ( or who knows how many may be under threat, not just the games against the parkshite mob) . This is an issue that could impact severely on the club, should they go down the road of pissing off those who attend Firhill every second week, those who buy merchandise, programmes, who buy 50/50 tickets, sponsor players and other things that put regular money into Thistle. And all to please and accommodate a few fire raising bigots!!! So yes, lets all take a moment to think about this and whether its only a few folk getting their knickers in a twist over a trivial issue and we should all just be grateful and shut up. One other point. The proposed stand at city end in Propco plans is little more than a glorified elongated bus stop, only a few rows deep capable of holding 250 to 300 at most. Not exactly meeting our needs I would suggest.
  4. The club that is very much alive (for now) is almost one year old. Give it time, and it will go the way of its predecessor , which died aged 140 years Old. Tick tock tick tock..........
  5. Mightbe a valid point potty. All depends how AA plans us to play, but I always felt long before CE said he was off, that we could be a joy to watch in the SPL with CE playing a predominately free role just behind the striker(s). Whats done is done, but am still gutted we will never get to see what could have been with The Bridge in our 1st 11 in the SPL.
  6. True. Also for clarification, if we were to offer someone "a star wage", it would have to be for a player like Chris Erskine. Does anyone think its too soon to ask him if he's ready to come home yet, and do a Richard Britton and renage on his PCA?
  7. We do need a new Erskine type player. Whether Bannigan, Craigen or Lawless (who we do need to keep I feel) can become that player, or Archie brings someone in, just have to waitand see.
  8. Never been that sold on Sutton. Not a bad player but at times over rated by some I think. He is also being tipped to leave Hearts Mainly for the reason he does not want to take a paycut. Tgat means to me if he isn't willing to accept less money from hearts, then we wouldn't be able to offer him enough of a weekly wage to make him sign for us - unless we smashed our wage structure to get him. And I don't think he is that good a player (or that hard working) to justify doing so. Plus, someone on a wage likely 2 or 3 times above our next nearest high earner, could lead to some disharmony in the squad, and potentially spoiling the togetherness the squad has.
  9. The R word died as a club a year ago bill, k.o.'d you could say. Scottish football does not need a strong sevco, or a weak one either for that matter. Death to sevco. One Team In Glasgow :-)
  10. Or do it in the games v celtic, get the equivalent of their gate contribution, and save bothering letting any one of their supporters into Firhill, and as a result ensuring keeping North Stand red and yellow.
  11. Did Judas and sssssssnakesid return their ties to the club when they departed for shittier climes?
  12. Thanks pt, so I was slightly out but the rreduction to 600k was correct as such. Your quote from press does remind me though as to what I felt at the time was a strange line, in that "the £1 million investment will cut the club's £1.6 million debt in half " and that whoever wrote that line wasn't very good at basic arithmetic, or the at least one of the two figures quoted was incorrect to some degree.
  13. Always sad to read news like this. Condolences to all concerned.
  14. IIRC debt was just over £1.2 mill at time of propco. If propco had bought Firhill 100% the deal would have virtually wiped out debt. When revised to 50% it almost halved it.
  15. This. Without a doubt. Time our club (and oneThistle) took a (north) stand over this, we'd gain much publicity and good will from other clubs supporters too on this, and show everyone of the Thistle AND non-Thistle persuasion, that our board is not willing to pander to either of THEM (or any other club), on any issue, especially if its to the detriment of home advantage, moving our support to accommodate theirs, or helping the gruesome twosome resume their battles on or off the pitch, and prove they are completely Thistle minded. Oh wait...
  16. Good interview, thanks for this. To keep up the west end luvvie penchant for grammatical correctness perception, your 5th last paragraph : "We have a young squad but it’s a determined squad were a lot of players want to prove themselves” "were" should be "where" i guess? Also : first and last paragraph you say "The Arab’s visit to the First Division Champions on August 4th will be dominated by a narrative of returns and firsts." and "we will be there on August 4th to report on all the action as Premier League football returns to Firhill." Unless you know something we, ptfc website and others don't know (that is the game is getting shifted for tv or whatever reason), the game is scheduled for 3rd August!
  17. Thats for a 6-8yr old kid. If you are an adult, it's £14.50 badgeless & sponsorless, then £25.50 more to have wee thistle badge & big sponsor logo on it.
  18. No wind up and you are being too sensitive pt. Now what was that that was said earlier along lines about not reading all posts properly and only seeing bits and jumping in without thought?
  19. Sure I read somewhere recently, Romanov has disappeared and is being investigated for a £12m embezzlement allegedly.
  20. How does that help or work in the realms of a discussion forum?
  21. While I am not making any definitive judgement on joma, its range, prices, design and quality, it is apparent some upturn in what it offers in terms of kit and casual wear is required to satisfy the majority. Only once the kits and full casual wear ranges are known and seen (in images and then at their retail outlet(s)), will we see if the fabled market research and fashionista input has delivered a outcome worthy of PTFC. And for the record and the doubters, I genuinely hope it does.
  22. Okay, so you have no idea what they did do, yet can say with certainty what they did not do. Sounds legit. As for your recent posts in general, ever thought of becoming a politician? Saying lots, but not really saying anything substantive. Not a critique, just an observation, as you do it so well.
