  1. Don't know how it was missed. I am not the best with this inter web thing, if I can find his record anybody can. Regarding Archibald I thought his time was up long before we sacked him. I had doubts after Kilmarnock beat us 2-0 at Firhill when their reserve manager was in charge, just before Clarke took over. Archibald had done brilliant for us but his time was up. When we sacked him I said sacking him might be the easy bit as we had to get the right replacement in. Imo we haven't , I will be more than happy to be proven wrong. I don't think you do yourself any favours calling the previous manager a clown. He did a very good job for about 4 years. I don't think we will be able to say that about Caldwell.
  2. Part time Arbroath 16 points ahead of full time Raith Rovers, who have been in league1 for a number of seasons now. Anybody who thinks if we get relegated we will bounce straight back, think again.
  3. Hopkins time at Bradford mirrors our current managers record with us. Very poor start, some better results with a few wins and then another run of defeats.
  4. I will do it the really old fashioned way. Pay at the turnstile on the night.
  5. To answer your question, Caldwell was never the man imo. Apart from when he won the league 1 title with Wigan he has been an abject failure. If you read the Wigan fans forum, he could not help but win the league 1 title that season, because they threw money at it to get out of the league. When they got promoted to the Championship he got sacked 2 months into the season because they were doing so bad. His record at Chesterfield, he won 3 games out of 29. Fans talk about players having a losing mentality, I think managers can also have that as well. With Caldwell in charge we are only going in one direction and that is down.
  6. Thanks SN we are very proud of it and we know Robert would have been surprised at this as he was a very modest young man. I always stand close to the plaque, same place as I did when Robert was with me, so the next time you are at the plaque come and say hello.
  7. Agree. I was just talking about this season. We have went from looking to get promoted to avoiding relegation in 4months.
  8. Yes we have to find something, a manager who can get us to 8th.
  9. He doesn't have a clue. Just ask the Wigan and Chesterfield fans. On the other hand if you want a team relegated, you know who to call.
  10. That's the problem. We cant defend. Score 2 at home you should get something from the game . Not us we concede 4.
  11. We are stuck with this guy. Remember all the great January window transfers in and all of the duffers that got kicked out have transformed the team into winners. Caldwell this is your team and you are getting us relegated.
  12. Saunders and MCDonald start, Fitzpatrick on bench, no Bannigan.Shea Gordon on bench. 4 Ex Jags start for Dunfermline.
  13. Thanks for taking part.Anyone who has already predicted but depending on our form might want to change their prediction can do so, as long as it is done at least 5 minutes before kick off. I have tippex on stand by . Good luck to everybody.
  14. Thanks Jagfox and I hope you are correct, but the first game in the competition is our game at home against DundeeUtd.
  15. This is the competition for Shea Gordon's home top that was sponsored in Robert's memory. The competition is free to enter and everybody is welcome to join in. The rules are simple. Everybody starts with 3 life's and you predict the score on Thistle games. If you get the score correct you get an extra life. If you get the outcome correct your life's stay the same. If you get the outcome wrong or miss a prediction you lose a life. The winner is the last competitor who has at least one life left when all the others have none. The first game you need to predict on is the game against Dundee Utd 9/3/19. All predictions must be posted on this thread at least 5 minutes before kick off. Good luck to everybody.
  16. Agree. Maybe I have missed it, but I haven't seen any board updates this year. Also I would not be surprised if we stay up that Caldwell will be praised by some on this forum for saving us from relegation.
  17. Feel its a must not lose game. If we were to lose this after our collapse in Saturdays game, I would fear another horrendous run, that will end up with another relegation. As usual it depends how the game goes. Before yesterdays game I would've settled for a draw. At half time nothing less than 3 points. 2-3 down would've been happy with a point. The roller coaster ride of supporting Thistle summed up in about 96 minutes of football.
  18. Agree. Big chance missed yesterday. If we would have held onto the 3 points yesterday, we would have put pressure on Morton and QOS. Instead we lose. We go bottom. Pressure back on Thistle. Success for us this season is not to get relegated.
