  1. Fookin' hundreds, but admittedly I was driving through Pollokshields at 2pm.
  2. Ah...but... were there any other Jags fans around to witness said alleged event?
  3. Got my new Italian, carbon soled very BRIGHT ORANGE ARANCIO shoes delivered this morning so they'll make me go MUCH faster... Contador stylee. Only trouble is, I have a terrible feeling I've got glandular fever (its been a tough 10 days) which means I'm fooked for doing any decent mileage for about a month Docs on Tuesday with everything crossed that its just been the flu. If not, the 3 100 milers I've got in the diary between now and October are oot the windae.
  4. You missed the quote in the post below it.
  5. I'm sure its got nothing to do with being a sheep. As much as I have diagreed with some of the outpourings from Jeehon's keyboard, I'm inclined to agree with him. Tom does a job for US, as supporters of the club, on a voluntary basis, and he does this generally very well. Sure, there may be some typos, some news might not exactly be scoop material by the time it hits the official site and some might not like his writing style. Rest assured though...he hurts as much as the best of us when we get turned over. Obviously, as programme editor part of that role is to put a positive spin on news from the club. What he felt compelled to post above was neither positive, nor news "from the club". This was a Thistle Fan commenting on the sort of behaviour we should never expect from Thistle fans. He is, in my humble opinion, a very honest and honourable person and would never come on here "on the windup", particularly in circumstances such as this, so I have no reason to doubt what he has posted. If you need more evidence before you are convinced, fine. Keep the baiting and testing comments for elsewhere though. edited to correct typo in critical position!
  6. ...and the cop that filmed it for invasion of privacy.
  7. Nah its a 5 and 9 day today. If had been pissing down we'd have won. Oh... One John Lambie should be sacked. His predictions are a liability.
  8. Not this year matey. Its staying put and I'm doing the round-trip on two wheels... and I think you'll find that that fits well with my more psycopathic tendencies.
  9. Forget even trying the train unless you get to Waverley before 12 or b. want to wait for hours to get on. For £15, you and your bike are whisked back to The Wedge by coach (bike on truck). Back at the Green, you collect your bike from a numbered pen. It works (apparently, as I've never used this option)
  10. I can understand the logic as it is, after all, a Glasgow to Edinburgh bike ride. I imagine the other thinking behind it is that there would be too much disruption to other road traffic if you have large streams of cyclists on both sides of the road. The prospect of arriving at the finish, knackered, after 100 (hard) miles at the same time as thoooosands of folk who have pootled across the easy way, to then wait ages to get on a bus back home appeals about as much as something really really really nasty. Early start for me (0730 departure) - chank it out to the finish for around half 10, quick break and then back (along a slightly modified route) via the feeding stations - hopefully getting home by about 2pm. I reckon the 100 mile route would probably take me 7-8 hours (including stops) which means doing the last 4 or 5 miles along the cycle path bit dodging the folk who have an average speed akin to a brisk walk... I cannae be arsed with that. Anyway...anybody want to join our chaingang and do Glasgow-Edinburgh-Glasgow?
  11. Nah. I got to my seat at 5 past 3. Walking up the slope I thought "Not a great turnout for the first home game of the season...especially against Dundee". 2800 sounds about right.
  12. I thought were awful in the first half hour...after that though... we got a bit better and ended up playing some nice football AND winning!
  13. I know a couple of people with these... unanimous thumbs up. A fellow Jags fan recently bought an "eco" something version and gets over 60 miles to the gallon average!
  14. Only if its a white one and you're already a total pr!ck.
  15. I (entirely deliberately) had forgotten all about him. Did we ever get that car back?
  16. Get a Volvo V70. Anything up to 10 years old will usually still be in reasonable condition and you can fill the boot with as many dogs and bicycles as you can throw a stick for.
  17. Is it not their turn though? We've already done the fat done T!m.
  18. How come the italians call it Calcio? Is "football" a naughty word in italiano?
  19. ...and the same to you. I put it down to the effect that driving a proper cyclist's motor has had on you
