  1. Far far more impressive result. My concerns were that the results and performances previous didn't seem very comfortable at all and against poor iopposition. results like today do much to ease those concerns so long may it continue and although Dunfermline are a mess they are still a good team. I still have the same concerns as kni but a great result today and let's hope Morton slip up at accies mid week!
  2. Of course its an opinion based on someone elses thoughts/notes. Had I been commenting on specific incidents in the match then obviously it'd be different, but to get the jist of how a match has went Id say you could come to a fairly accurate conclusion by reading a few unbiased reports. You obviously wouldnt be as informed as those who did indeed attend which I had already said. ETA: What youare effectively saying is that you must have afirst hand account of something to form an opinion?
  3. The McNamara appointment was in far different circumstances though, I do get your point though, It just dont think a completely unexperienced manager is what we need this moment in time and its going to take more than two 1-0 wins against far poorer opposition and a 2-2 in which we were 2-0 up to convince me. Anyway the posts previous were after quite a few bevys at around 1am Asia time so I may have been overreacting slighlty to absolutly shitting myself reading the text commentary come in ( especially as Morton were pumping Dunfermline). Must learn not to post whilst drunk nevermind drunk and immediately after that. I genuinely hope to be proved wrong though as I do like Archie and think it could be the job for him at some point inthe future. Just have my doubts right now.
  4. If I had read 4/5/6 or more reports on the match then I could absolutely give you an opinion on how either team had performed. Would you be unable to?
  5. Hahaha. Ive not said ive seen enough and decided based on that hes not the man for the job. Ive thought from day one hes not the right man (at the moment - may I add). I dont think hes got enough experience to lead us to the title. You dont have to live next door to firhill to form an opinion like that. Im not even going to dispute with you that im entitled to an opinion as it would be a childish and utterly pointless argument.
  6. Haha this made me laugh. True though, its only my opinion. I hope I'm wrong but lets just be greatfull we're in the position to be arguing whos good enough to win us the league or not.
  7. Lenziejag, I take on board what you're saying and I do appreciate that my opinion is going against the grain on this. Theres been post after post about how we never took our chances, how we were by far the better team. All I'm saying is that better teams wont allow you miss those chances without punishing you. Thats my concern. 2 wins is 2 wins and 6 points in the bag, but lets not forget who our opposition were.
  8. Our away performance/results havent been good enough. McNamara might not have won us the league either. Thats not the point. The points I have basically made are that we need to improve performances to win the league. The only point that folk are having a fit over is that I dont/they do think that Archie is the right man to do it.
  9. And you have what to back that I'm wrong? Two scraped wins against arguably the worst teams in the league at home and a 2-2 draw in which we lead by 2 goals to nil. Genuine question do you think our performances recently are good enough to beat the better teams of the division?
  10. What is lidicrous? I dont think that a completely inexperienced manager is experienced enough to guide us through this very very tough run in?
  11. You could well be right I might well have a different opinion if I were there but I'm only calling it as I see it. I might even have the advantage of looking ar it from a slightly more outside perspective than would I would have usually. Who knows?
  12. Irony at its best. Ironically this is my least constructive post.
  13. 1,3,4 - Ive not said that. Like you said learn to read. 2. - Thats the opinion I formed based on those reports - quite clear, I thought.
  14. Two very insightful and constructive quotes. Thanks alot
  15. Haha. Because I post some things that go against the grain on here I'm automatically assumed to be someone else? I'm not going to argue that I'm less in the know than those who have attended the games, of course I am but what I can say is that the previous post stands based on the unbiased match reports from numerous papers as well as the clubs involved official match reports i can form my own opinion. The beauty of an internet forum is that anyone no matter how far from the action can post their views. I could ( and genuinely hope) to be wrong. Like others have said the next couple weeks will give us more of an idea.
  16. Would love to - will you pay for my airfare?
  17. Clearly, alot of posters and I will need to agree to disagree. My main point is that although I think Archie has and will continue to do his best for us. Its simply not going to be good enough. The past 3 performances from as far as I can see have been far from convincing which at this point of the season could be disastourous to our promotion hopes. I agree 3 points is 3 points, but 3 points against Airdrie and Hamilton are far easier to come by than 3 points against the Dunfermline and Mortons of this league and perform like we have done and those type of teams will not give us the pleasure of taking 3 points from them. The performances NEED to improve.
  18. Okay, Ill change my choice of words. We gave away a 2 goal lead. That is a fact and im pretty sure I can even say. FACT.
  19. In all honestly I think this adds strength to my arguement. Ive no doubt that Archie does and will continue to do his best for thistle. Thats not the issue. The issue is, is he good enough at this moment in time with this present group of players?
  20. Seriously? I know I wasnt at the game but I'm fairly certain we did in actual fact throw away a 2 goal lead...
  21. Point taken regarding the comments/match reports etc. What would convince me if the comments/match reports had read that Thistle were by far the better side ( as should be the case when playing Accies/Airdrie ) and perhaps retaining/building on the two goal lead held at Morton. Thats what would've convinced me. So why are you convinced? Because we've taken 7/9 points that you yourself has agreed most/all fans could have acheived?
  22. I'd be happy winning ugly aginst some of the better teams in the division. The fact of the matter is that we have narrowly beat two of the worst teams in the league at home with two of our (proclaimed by many) worst performances of the season and thrown away a 2 nil lead against our biggest rivals. The folk who are happy with this in my opinion need to open their eyes. The past 3 performances have not been good enough and better teams would have beaten us as a result.
  23. Agreed, so was Derek Whyte before that.
  24. Really. From Paul Paton: "Just because I’ve got the armband doesn’t really make that much a difference"
