I can tell you now what would happen. The unemployed Neil Doncaster would be given a £500,000 a year contract to lead the formation of a new organisation
So much of this thread is about how other clubs should do what is right for Scottish football and not act in self interest. Therefore, bu reason, we shouldn't stoop to their level and should go en mass to as many away games as we possibly can ... for the good of Scottish football.
Or perhaps, sometimes I talk a load of bollocks
Very good point and not one I had thought of. Hearts could easily win and get nothing. Any litigation would be against the SPFL who as you say have no assets worth anything. The clubs are essentially shareholders who could just let the SPFL die and resurrect a new governing body.
Assuming this gets rid of Doncaster then perhaps it is a price worth paying
I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, but (and I am also not a lawyer) If Hearts win, we would have a cast iron case for a follow-up legal action and I bet it wouldn't even get to court. I do think that any legal action would be best if all 3 clubs acted together
Re Ross ... I would guess that the issue is how the fixtures are split (I've not seen what is proposed, but I guess a top 6 bottom 8 split after 3 rounds) and would they end up with fewer or more fixtures post split depending on how the bottom 8 are scheduled. The other issue would be if this was permanent or temporary. If temporary there will need to be 2 additional relegations at some point.
As for Ayr, their objection would be ICT getting promoted without a play-off and I guess that Dunfermline would be the loss of 2 Hearts games.
I'm not saying that I agree with them, just trying to see why they could object.
Or maybe he came up with an idea then changed his mind when the facts of the situation were presented. Can't say I've ever done that myself. Never happened to me.
Fact is that if he wasn't happy with the way the money was distributed, then he wouldn't have handed it over. It is a very generous gesture and Anderson should be thanked, not vilified because some of the money is going to people we don't like. Besides, if clubs are spending money on recruiting players, they can't then say that they need a grant to pay for virus testing.
Actually, I disagree. Several of them have performed much better at higher levels - Fox played for last seasons champions and Banzo was proven in the SPL. O'Ware and Williamson were decent for Morton and Dunfermline, but for some reason nether Caldwell nor McCall could get the best out of them.
Zanatta looked like a great player when he was with Alloa and I thought we had captured a player. For some reason (like so many) something happened at Firhill that sucked all the adventure from his play. Don’t think he would ever turn it round, but I would not be surprised if he turns up somewhere else to bite our bum.
