  1. you don't get how this works do you?
  2. i wonder how the raiders and st pauli fans feel when peopple are buying tops with their crest on, who have no idea what their "teams" score was at the weekend. maybe thats what cowan/hughes were aiming for with the pink strips? matbe you should pat them on the back for that? Anyway... what a lot of nonsense. Fact is, you go to the football to watch football. I would bloody hate Firhill if I had to stand beside 20 or 30 folk, who were only there because the badge was a trendy add on and they were only there to be in a gang...is that not just like a religion? Because in Scotland, only 2 things matter, football and religion. Any comparsion with a foreign team is a waste of time. Unless their fan ethos is religious. How many teams in Scotland connect themselves with religion? How many teams in Scotland are struggling to get folk through the door? How many teams in Scotland are charging inflated prices? How many teams in Scotland have not reduced their prices... since the tv money left... since the product deteriorated... since the gates dropped? How many teams in Scotland are playing entertaining football(and i use entertaining in the broadest sense)? How many teams in the junior/highland ranks are surviving, and turning a profit, because the price they charge on the gate and in the bar is an acceptable on for an acceptable product? Do you think we are the only team struggling? Imagine you are a QOTS fan, more people leave Dumfries to watch the Old Firm, than those who stay to watch Queens! You think we have it bad! In an area like Ayrshire, how many folk go to United games... How many folk from Ayrshire go to Ibrox! I'm sorry McK, I enjoy your wit and you blazay posts. But I think the journo in you is controlling this thread. Fact. Until, there is a shake up of Scottish football, where a wage and gate cap is put in place, where we learn from similar models, like the smaller european leagues, then we will keep dying... especially if the product is piss poor.
  3. We're not though, i'd be looking to our reserve/youth teams. Plenty of more than capable players to fill the roll. Especially if they play beside Robertson.
  4. I'm sorry, it was the fact you questioned my opinion by saying really? that sort of through me. I would never have guessed youy were agreeing with me. don't worry about it though.
  5. Don't know if this is directed at me, but I haven't ignored what Archie has given down the years. All I have said is that since his return (and I am not alone) I would say he has not performed as well as he should. Will i miss him, no. Why should I , he has not performed to the best of his ability since his return to the club. Football is a tough sport. Get on with it. There's another wing back, very much in Archie's mould, we should be getting behind.
  6. Thanks for the sweeping generalisation! Interestingly Thistle and Queens fans have also stated it was not a penalty in the pubs and forums. Looks like it's undecided!
  7. Doesn't look like any contact, if anything his wee stutter to leave his RIGHT leg trailing just makes it look like a dive, especially as the defender might have made contact with his left leg. I think the QOTS fans reaction says it all though. No Pen.
  8. no. He was the same great servant who jumped ship at the first time of asking. Who only returned IMO because he was offered a testimonial by the board... The same testimonial that would be paid by the fans. Not the board. In my opinion he has cruised through games since his return, hardly breaking sweat. And not in a good way. The only timne he has pushed himself has been during the United game. As it happens, a tv highlights game against an SPL team.
  9. Ridiculed on P&B. and within a week on here, it's the same. Ever feel like you shouldn't have a keyboard in your house?
  10. Not bothered either way, he let himself down, and the fans, when during an average season, performance wise; ran his guts out against Dundee United in the cup, especially as it was his first stint as wing back in years. Another example of Thistle ego, no leader.
  11. Considering there hasn't been one anti Bryn thread, that he has only been criticised for one goal (against raith), then i'd suggest very few. What I would ask is, how many more points would have been dropped, if we had still had Tuffey. In the pre season, and at the end of last, quite a few folk on here were quick to judge Halliwell, that he was past it, had failed at his last couple of clubs etc. I would say, since then, he has done more than enough. One of the few lights, in a team of under achievers.
  12. Lets not take our eye off the ball folks, what with all this good news. This horses erse is still at the club. Only once he too has gone, can the board be taken seriously. EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE... OUT OUT OUT
  13. Good on you for emailing in, but considering how easy it is to visit the official site and see who's in the Boardroom, how often the mcmaster share thing is discussed on here, I find it incredible how some folk either don't take in what they are reading, or are just plain lazy.
  14. Just answering the person aboves question, there are managers out there. And if mccall's the best we can do, then no matter the Boardroom changes, we're truely fckd.
  15. As long as Hughes has the love of the club at heart, he will hand back the shares. But at a recent AGM, he didn't seem to think there was an issue with McMaster leaving with his. Mind you beattie had a problem with it. So it could go either way. Just glad 2 of the 3 idiots are away. In an ideal world, Prentice will resign by the end of the week. Gilfillan will step up to the plate after spending just as much time on the Board as the rest of them, but hiding. And Bannerman will live up to his billing as being one of the few folk who has the fans interests at heart, in a Board meeting, and step up. As the one's with the cash, maybe Beattie and Allan will stump up the 150k it will take to sack McCall, or at least tell him he has until christmas to get it sorted. He might just realise, another sacking and all he will have will be 2nd division teams chasing him to take a job.
  16. couple of names to throw in the hat, who just might take the "step up". jim mcinally at east stirling stephen tweed at montrose gardner spiers at queens park alan maitland at alloa kenny brannigan at queen of the south no one else really in scotland, thats in a job.
  17. Strange we should still have a laundry room. Considering in recent years we've had ricky n Chico then the corned beef's mum, washing the strips in their house's!!!
  18. Compensation to sack would be in the region of 150k.
  19. I'd be more inclined to get Hughes and prentice out first. Cowan is merely a bumbling fool. The position of chairman means nothing at firhill, it's just a poisoned chalice, passed amongst friends. Hughes is responsible for money going out. Prentice is responsible for money coming in.
  20. So you support him in singling out Cairney for blame? That was the only thing of note in the post match reaction and it left a sour taste. Workman - tools???
