My guess is that the trialist is Kevin Smith. See my thread on him being linked to Raith Rovers and us. He could be training with Rovers and St Andrews would be easy for him to get to.

Airdrie and Ayr would not pay him that much. Looks like IM got that one right.

The first sentence of the last paragraph is interesting. It suggests that the main squad will be smaller than last season. “We will be going into the season with a small squad but I don’t think that we are going to be alone in that respect.” He then talks up the youngsters. It is possible, even likely, the only additional signing will be a goalkeeper.
