Well said, wholeheartedly agree, where has this great clamor for league re-organization been hiding itself in recent years. To be frank if Thistle were dying Rangers wouldn't have crossed the road to save them. Therefore let them reap what they've sown!

To paraphrase Fat Sally, if the powers that be arrive at some gerrymandered compromise viz. the Currant Buns I can and will walk away.

I would be the first to admit that the sectarian baggage carried by Ranger,s or their supporters in any guise does not lend itself, overmuch to feelings of empathy or indeed sympathy to those of us who for whatever reason decide not to follow the crowd. That being said you seem to miss the point as to why so many people are up in arms, this is not a case of people wanting to waive a magic wand and put to right issues that should have been resolved years ago. What the strength of feeling reveals is a desire to draw a line in the sand to ensure a certain minimum level of sporting integrity. Without which participation in any sport at any level is rendered meaningless. I like many seek only to see football in this country run on a fair and equitable basis, without fear or favour. I am not naive enough to expect that in future the voice of Partick Thistle will be heard at an equal volume as say that of Celtic, nonetheless I expect a certain minimum level of equity without which participation in any sport, at any level is rendered totally and completely pointless.

Few if any subjects have arisen in the thirty odd years of being a Jags supporter that have enraged me so. This of Rangers, has unequivocally done so. I am not engaged in some kind of quasi-political or other campaign against Rangers or their supporters, instead I simply wish to see that club treated according to the norms and rules of football, which we lesser mortals have to comply with. If the powers that be whether they be the Scottish football authorities or the custodians of our own club fail to adhere to this cardinal rule of sport then they will have lost me. I can confirm that is some sort of corrupt gerrymandered scheme is put in place to put Rangers in Division One next year I will cease to attend games at Firhill, cease to be a member of the Jags trust and resign from the Scotland supporters club. Furthermore, I will cancel all subscriptions towards Sky. Quite frankly I am totally p*ssed off being taken for a mug and being treated like a fool. I really hope that the BoD's are taken cognisance of the comments on these pages as I for one am not making an idle threat.

Guarantees, Sky & The "new" Team From Govan - A Cynic's View

It is becoming more apparent as days go by that the club previously knowing as Rangers and their sympathizers and apologists are in complete disarray. The Scottish footballing authorities are in a state of near blind panic at the evidence so far made public of wrongdoing by the team from Govan on an almost industrial scale What the vast majority of non-Rangers fans wish to see is quite simply the matter treated in a non-partisan way, without fear or favour. However, what we are treated to is an almost daily catalogue of obfuscation and disinformation of a Kafkaesque variety. Well, I hope I'm speaking for many when I say that I'm sick to fed up with all the Hungeddon stories, which imply the Earth will stop revolving if Rangers are treated in the manner their behavior deserves.Added to my feeling of anger is the lack of acknowledgement of wrong doing or even hint of an apology or ant act of contrition. Indeed, we are basically told that its our fault for punishing the Ibrox club! Well, a word or two in the shelllike of the powers that be in Scottish football and indeed the custodians of our own football club: do they think we are mugs? I know I have spent thirty odd years supporting a "wee" team that is highly unlikely ever to win the Champions League, yet I trust that given the right luck and circumstances that my team will have at least a sporting chance in any competition it enters. This is why so many non-Rangers fans are angry, what we are being told is effectively that no matter what there is one team that will never be subject to the same discipline as anyone else. That's just plain wrong and if some contrived resolution is arrived at to allow Rangers a feather bedded punishment, I'm finished with Scottish football. After all what would be the point?

There's a new angle on this saga nearly every day the only common feature is that I have difficulty believing any of it. Its well past time that the corrupt and cheating barstewards are flung out of Scottish on their arrogant sectarian backsides.
-
Its extremely difficult for anyone inured to the cynical machinations of the Scottish footballing authorities to conceive of them acting other, than in their own narrow self interest. Yet, recent events have made it so clear that the H*n's arrogance knows no bounds. Not once has there been heard from Govan way any recognition of culpability or even regret. Coming on top of countless examples of frankly unacceptable behavior from Rangers and their supporters, I get the feeling that a psychological Rubicon has now been crossed. Perhaps, now those who run our game are beginning to think the unthinkable andthat all the tripe about Rangers is just rubbish. We don't need them and don't want them!

I think the tide of opinion amongst non- Rangers fans is such that the footballing authorities cannont ignore the fairly obvious evidence of substantial irregularities at Rangers. Compounded by their breathtaking arrogance and their steadfast refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing. I hope that they are expelled from the SFA in disgrace.

D+F's have really surpassed themselves now, by taking cout action against the SFA, as the de jure management of Rangers they will find themselves in breach of UEFA( and FIFA) regulations. Ipso facto leaving the SFA little alternative, to at the very least suspension of their membership. On the other hand, the realists will tell us that football has never been equitable when finances are concerned. However, it does strike me as supremely ill advised of a member club to take action against its parent association, when the consequences are all but inevitable. Are D+F's to be seen as incompetent or something else, I must confess that personally I'm beginning to suspect along the lines of the latter.

The farce that is Rangers rumbles on regardless of how reality impinges upon it. We have D+P's insisting on presenting a CVA, which in all likelihood even they know is unlikely to be accepted. They, D+P's themselves are in a sticky position themselves and it would be a surprise to no one if a significant creditor e.g. HMRC moved to have them removed as administrators. HMRC, even if they don't move to remove D+P from their role, will at some point apply the coup de grace to the present company by not allowing the appeal from Rangers over the EBT's etc. The football authorities whilst no doubt anxious to ingratiate themselves with UEFA by hammering the h*ns for their breach of sporting ethics are no doubt bricking themselves over the prospect of their product losing a substantial amount of its revenue from that well known philanthropic body owned by good ol'e Rupe' Murdoch. The admixture is completed by a supporting cast of characters, a script writer for festive entertainment would baulk as being too far fetched to add as pantomime villains. Confused, you will be after the next episode of Rangers!

The EBT case is NOT at the moment and is highly unlikely ever to be a criminal charge. Rangers are appealing over HMRC's assessment of tax due. I would not be too surprised, if the delay in dealing with the case is not entirely unconnected with the contentious public atmosphere which inevitably surround any issue involving an institution like a football club. Nonetheless, I'd be amazed if the Orcs manage to extricate themselves from this. Particularly, when the prevalent Departmental attitude is bound to reflect a determination to ensure the protection of the revenue. I would also assess that the decision not to pursue Rangers under the criminal law may well have been different had the authorities been aware of the clubs practise viz. compliance. Unfortunately, for "ra Rangers" their tax liabilities appear to be only one of the many issues of corporate governance that raise concern. What last nights BBC programmer makes self evident is the lack of oversight by the media and those in charge of Scottish football in the financial affairs of Rangers. It is imperative that previous neglect on the part of the footballing authorities is not compounded by a lack of resolve to take the necessary remedial action in respect of the Ibrox club's fairly obvious non-compliance with SPL rules.

European(Champions League!) Cup Final

Aye I suppose, ver reluctantly! -
Five minutes to go in the first half is it only who thinks its rubbish. Certainly only one team trying to entertain and that ain't Chelsea. Considering who much money they have their concept of attacking football is less than a wholesale endorsement of free flowing football. To exacerbate Bayern although willing do not seem particularly gifted int hat department either. What annoys me worse is listening to biased commentators and pundits telling us what a great game this is.

I'm surprised they've not tried to blame it on Neil Lennon!
-
Rangers are in a shocking state and I am led to believe there are more skeletons in the closet awaiting discovery.
-
Oh dear how sad what a pity never mind! There was never, in a month of Sundays any chance of their appeal succeeding, unfortunately they were essentially repeating" We Are the People", it was frankly farcical that they instructed a QC to argue against one on the central tenets of company law. Another embarrassment, heaped on embarrassment- watch this space as the HMRC cases have still to report as have the SFA inquiry into dual contracts, on top of that you have the prospect of losing virtually the first team squad for peanuts, Terrible isn't it it never rains but it pours...lol!

Maybe it means that Green has physically made Sally a chest to keep all his little soldiers(British of course) in or it could just be another crock of sycophantic sh*t of the kind we all know and love. My money's on the latter.

The EBT Iis the appeal the Currant Buns made against HMRC's assessment.

Best And Worst Football Stadiums In The Sfl?
stillresigned replied to redhulk44's topic in Main Jags forum
Based only on personal experience and preference. Best- Palmerston. Worst- Thats quite difficult a tie between New Douglas Park, Cliftonville and Recreation Park. -
When I was a lad, we used to have an unofficial contest to see who'd rent the worst video ( well it was London in 1989'ish!). I won by hiring "IBought a Vampire Motorcycle"-particularly memorable for a monster turd jumping out of a toilet into a characters mouth! Actually, I thought it really funny at the time and its now considered a bit of a cult classic.

Just heard fat Ally saying the worst scenario would be that the ban and the fine stay, no you tube if you read the reasons published, they'll be doing well not flining the book at you. And I've got to say that if Neil Lennon had been the one making comments like Sally, we all know what the response of the Orcs would've been. Hope Allan Cowan does his job fairly and without any hassle from the trogs.

I've stopped believing any news that emanates from Ibrox. Ever since this sorry saga began, all thats come out from the administrators is wishful thinking and half-baked ideas. In addition how many dealines that were definetlyhad to be met have there been, no day, new final dfnal deadline. Surely, even Rangers fans (well allright the one or two that are literate!), will begin to question their competence and surely the courts must begin questioning whether their primary aim i.e. ensuring the best return for creditors is really being pursued?
