  1. So would you not be dissapointed if, in a Cup semifinal penalty shoot-out, after taking a penalty during normal time, Aaron Muirhead declares himself unavailable to take one of those five spot-kicks?
  2. Based on the Hearts number of fans going to away matches, it should be as follows when Killie visits Firhill and Hearts go to Paisley: PTFC v Killie. - 4540 St.Mirren v Hearts - 6625.
  3. After it was his first penalty after the cup final miss, we are a bit apprehensive when he takes one but, as long as he proves being ready to take them, we must be happy. Wish Thistle get 10 penalties this season, even if he misses two or three. It´s still a lot of goals & points. Remember Arjen Robben. He has no problem about taking a penalty in normal time against whoever it is but then does not want responsability when a penalty shoot-out arises. A coward way of acting.
  4. Shame Thistle couldn´t hold on in the end but it was a great goal from Walker. Lots of positives from the match. I think the lads need to play a bit more calm as the seem a bit anxious from minute one. Even when shooting, it does appear again that anxiety to score. Second draw at home but still unbeaten. Five points from three matches is pretty decent.
  5. Before taking it, I though the Hearts keeper would guess where it was going after Aaron´s miss in the Cup final but he really did well to whack it into the middle. Great peno.
  6. At last moans from people here will come to an end. Penalty Thistle! Aaron 1-0 .
  7. Hearts have had a few near chances in a dangerous 10 minute spell. I still think there is at least a goal in this game. Hope it is jags´. Crowd 6,540. I thought it would be near the 7000 plus as in the opening match.
  8. That was the cup Q-F, wasn´t it? A 2-2 draw a fairer result. Regarding internet feeds, just look for one from Setanta Sports Australia or Fox Soccer US if you want "proper" English comms. This one working ATM: http://firstrownow.e...-vs-hearts.html
  9. Yes, he had a great season but it was at a club with a Spanish manager who played a totally different football from the one Scotland do play. I´m sure people wanted to win yesterday´s match but, in my opinion, it was case of preparing the team for the 2016 Euros. It is a case of preparing the team from now up to September 2014 when the qualifying campaign starts. By 2016, Maloney will be 33 & Miller 36. Rhodes & Griffiths will be 26 & 25 respectively. For me, it´s a non-starter. You can have a central defender aged 36 and do a great job for you but not so sure about a 36-year-old forward doing the same great job. Agree with the fact problems for the team lie in defence not from midfield and forward.
  10. Scotland played well but defence must improve dramatically in basic things like set-pieces. You can´t concede these days from a corner, let alone from a corner and a free-kick. I thought Miller did really well( unexpectedly) but the future is called Leigh Griffiths and Jordan Rhodes. We know League One is not the best level to spend your season but I´m sure Strachan is aware Miller is not going to last long. The two young ones will feature in other future meaningless friendlies but it was this one where they should have featured. And I would get rid of Maloney too. He´s in the PL and Griffiths in L1 but in a couple of years it will be the other way round.
  11. ROFL. Picture number two. http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2013/08/14/album/1376487210_734461.html#1376487210_734461_1376488373
  12. Gordon Strachan writing in a note just after Morrison´s goal: -"Shoot from distance everytime we play England. They usually have crap goalies".
  13. Downloadable highlights from yesterday´s match. I can provide them early morning every Sunday, if needed, as they are available here from midnight http://www58.zippyshare.com/v/41238070/file.html 45MB, flv. file
  14. Nacho Novo? He is in Glasgow. He wants to stay in Scotland as his family is there. He rejected offers from Spain this summer. But he will want a good salary and of course he´s unwanted by most fo the Jags support.
  15. Without Griffiths, Hibs are going to find it difficult to score goals. I would not be surprised if they are in the bottom three or four all season. There is even talk at this stage that Fenlon is not going to last long. Mind you, had Malmo been beaten by Drogheda in the earlier round, I´m sure the Irish would have beaten Hibs, that would be Gretna v Derry City all over again. Hibs are that poor although the season is too long and things might change. There is one good thing about clubs being in debt. Those other clubs who work on limited budgets and do things properly end up having their reward.
  16. He played 26 matches in a Rayo Vallecano B side that conceded 57 goals and finished second bottom in the Second Division B, Group 1(North west) last season. A division with (allegedly) low standards last season, top teams were Oviedo and Tenerife. If you have the time to watch him in action, click in any of the links and he´s playing against Orense & Coruxo. He wears number 5 in both matches. http://www.crtvg.es/...-raio-vallecano http://www.crtvg.es/deportes/futbol-2-div-b-coruxo-raio-vallecano
  17. What about him as a striker? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_Walker It was reported that Walker turned up at a training base of Dundee United in Spain without notice and requested a possible trial. This was however refused by Dundee United's management.[16] He was also linked to a move for Aris Thessaloniki.
  18. I´m not sure what to make of that result. San Roque finished 8th in the Third Division Group 10 last season and although top of the table Algeciras were a decent side, San Roque have to be considered a poor side. Just like most of pre-season results, is only a test in a hot afternoon in South Spain but, having been already thrashed in Germany, United don´t seem to be perfectly prepared for a the start of the season. Still two weeks to go for the big day, though.
  19. And what about the results from the first round the season before: Padiham walkover Heart of Midlothian Rawtenstall walkover Rangers Omens?
  20. I find pretty annoying that a trialist scores two goals and we cannot have his name. Joel Thomas, former Accies player, was on trial today( he scored) for Dinamo Bucharest against Hearts and the Romanian club has no problem with his name shown in the sheet.
  21. It has to be because Thistle are two up after five minutes. Elliott with the first, McMillan with the second.
  22. Not really. This is only due to the fact that we are at the beginning of the season. Last season, when I knew that the Ramsdens cup final was to be played on April 7th, I looked for another match on the same weekend. By the start of February, the match at Inverness ( v Saints) was moved to Friday. Same happened to match at Tynecastle on Saturday morning although I didn´t make it and went do East End Park instead.
