  1. That's not too bad a nucleus to be getting on with. Three or four more (hopefully Rowser one of them) then we can hope for a better start to the season than we had last time around.
  2. Let's at least give the lad a chance. Some of our current favourites didn't set the heather alight on their loan spells either. To have arrived even at this stage he must have shown some potential. Maybe the "encouraging" Firhill crowd will help to unleash it.
  3. Jags general manager Ian Maxwell insists the planning for the next campaign will go into overdrive when McNamara and his Turn to Page 43 From Back Page assistant Simon Donnelly arrive back from a charity walk in Ecuador on Wednesday. Is that a code?
  4. I thought you were being harsh, until I saw that name. Now I'm reminded that I hate them too!
  5. Reminds me of that time at Rugby Park when some "beauty queen" was introduced to the crowd at half-time, leading to a loud Jags-fans' chorus of "Who let the dog out?!"
  6. Aye, you're right! Hahahahahahahah...hahahahahahahah..hahahahahahahah
  7. How about this for an off-the-wall suggestion for Chelsea?: Walter Smith.
  8. There's no way that he'd be considered for the Chelsea job, but Gary McAllister has done not badly while standing in for Houlier at Aston Villa.
  9. Nothing, but nothing in this universe would cause me to sing anything by Depeche Mode! Now, Duran Duran, by contrast....
  10. Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on.... In fact, buy a season ticket, and if the club doesn't come up with the goods then I will personally clean your seat with a suitable deterrent product, and subject your chosen seat to a rigorous angularity/weight resistance testing schedule of my own design, which may or may not be submitted for appraisal to the Dragons' Den in the future. Edited to add: I think it's safe to assume that the pitch will be in much better condition next season.
  11. True; not necessary, but Jags fans do likewise.
  12. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if a "4-sided stadium" requirement got adopted one of these days.
  13. Quite funny that like Giggs' super injunction, the "ban" cannae be enforced.
  14. That was a sore one, definitely. But I don't really hold it against them. Not like those lousy arabs a couple of years earlier, aided by a bent referee.
  15. Not sure that you quite got the message behind my post, but I'm used to getting misinterpreted. No mistake, I'd love hoorface to be playing next season. And good to have you guys back.
  16. Dunno; since Wolves survived by the very skin of their teeth, they'll be looking for something different next season. It may be better for them to have Griffiths around andplaying in the reserves every week so that at least they can try him out when required. I'm not sure that in their position just leaving him back at Dundee would be much help, as he's not going to improve there.
  17. For once we come out on top after selling a player! It's a good point. They paid more than they could afford, and they failed to get promoted. Will he be there next season? Who knows, but even if he is, there's still serious doubt about whether they could win the division. Excellent work by Agent Harkins.
  18. Full agreement with the end of the above post. But I'd take the "brain injury" description with a kilo of salt. Any damage is likely to predate his getting hit by one or two 2p coins (misers!); he is, after all, a ballboy at Tynecastle.
  19. I beg to differ, sir. Giggs would surely be in an all-time greatest Man Utd team, and deservedly so. 100% agreement on everything else.
  20. I would back Pie of the Month's post above. For too many years now I've looked forward to an end-of-season clear-out and a whole bunch of new faces arriving at Firhill to freshen the whole squad up. But this time it's different; I'm actually pleased at those we already have on the books, and feel that it's a question of plugging 2 or 3 gaps rather than wholesale changes. A few good players to add to what we have, and we should be in a position to have a decent crack at it.
  21. Seconded. Actually, I've already got a shrine for the hoor in my hoose. It's the kitchen.
