Thats my daughter, dad, Uncle and myself renewed for another season and got my wee 5 year old nephew his first season ticket.
Was told this afternoon that was 1333 sold so far.

5 year old with a season ticket to follow the Jags.  What a wonderful beautiful thing! Well done Bryza. :fan:

  2. When I was at Firhill for the Raith Rovers match last week, I was very impressed by Scott Tiffoney & Harry Milne in particular,  but also by the team play. Passing was good. I've seen nothing about  Scott being injured,  and if he plays, I think we will get a result. Morton have not filled the pre-season predicted relegation places, and won't be easy to beat- especially after their most recent performance.  2-1 Thistle.

Hello EKJ.  The "pundits" on Sportsound yesterday claimed that QP only have one small stand built at Lesser Hampden and that it would not be deemed suitable for the Premiership. The confident prediction was that they would be back playing at the "big" Hampden if they get promoted. That would include 2 x home matches v The Old Firm - say 30,000+? - and generally decent crowds v Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen etc.

Thanks  AFK. Wherever they go (I trust not Firhill) they will be paying a six figure sum to share the ground.  Add in the cost of the works to Lesser Hampden, and I  suspect that they will be lucky  to break even next season.  Don't know if they still have any funds from the Hampden sale, but playing in the Premier League will bite into Haughey's millions.

    Love Street?

JeanieD has beaten me to it! Looks like the old Love St stand, & thin St Mirren stripes.

Alan Hansen and John Marr had overlapping careers with Thistle, and I believe that the only time they played together at Love St was on 17 January 1976, where Thistle won 3-2 in a 1st Division match. Alan Hansen got the 3rd. Thistle, of course, went on to win the 1st Division That season, with Thistle going up as Champions, along with Kilmarnock.

The St Mirren manager was someone called Alex Ferguson!!

ultimately law is slow, complicated and boring.  it takes time to get all the dots completed but by the summer Thistle will be a fan owned club with The Jags Trust and The Jags Foundation.  Hopefully 1 day there will be 1 fans body.

The final event in the timeline is that "at some future point" the existing trustees step away.  There is no finite time mentioned, and this process could drag out.

Personally, I'd be happier if there was a  periodic or (say) annual review, with an arbitration process available  in the event of disagreement between the parties.  Can this be considered?

Couldn't help notice McGregor had a kick at him as he was about to score. A keeper (IMO) who has "previous" and has got away with a lot in his time at Rangers). I wonder what would have happened if Tiff had missed because of the kick or gone down. Penalty awarded during an uncontested attempt at goal?  Tiff booked for diving?

    PENALTY RANGERS!!!

Muggins starts foe Cove this afternoon.  His 2nd yellow against Ayr was for dissent. A violent conduct red would have seen him miss this match, but he will be suspended in their next Scottish Cup outing.

Predictive text - Megginson, not Muggins 😇

Is Megginson suspended? We really want to be winning this by a few goals. Much more dirge & crowds will dwindle again.

Want to come up for the Queens Park game at Easter, but can't book travel until I know if it's been chosen for a Friday night game.  Anyone any idea when the information on Friday night matches will be announced?

The football matches on the football on BBC website shows fixtures listed till the end of March, so in all probability the next set of fixtures chosen will be done sometime next month. Don't know what your timeframe for booking accommodation or travel is, but you can bookmark this website.

As previously suggested,  you might get some joy from contacting BBC Scotland Sport.

  10. I must say that  as a member of TJF I'm very pleased at the donation - however much it is, to the club's player budget. I'm also pleased with TJF sponsoring matches including the upcoming Scottish Cup tie.

Ever since the previous board buggered off, supporting the Jags has become pleasurable again.

    C'mon the Jags!!

OK I have got my act together especially as I was chased by the club to book hospitality!

I have checked my current account and gave everyone a ticket so £10 = 1 ticket.  £20 = 2 tickets.

Randomly gave numbers to the contributors in a spreadsheet so someone who gave £20 gets ticket # 1 & 2.  Next person gave £40 so gets ticket # 3, 4, 5, 6 etc etc.

    I hope this makes sense.

I have taken myself and @East Kent Jag II out the vote.

So to keep it neutral can @East Kent Jag II give me a number from 1 to 38 for

    1) Signed Thistle strip

    2) Hospitality

    Apologies once again.

    Numbers are 18 and 32.

Good luck to all of you. I wish you could all get prizes!!

Thanks EKJ II - I don't recognise any of the missing names! Was Munro the striker we bought from Clydebank to replace Jimmy Bone? I think he had injury problems...I am not sure he ever played for the first team and definitely never scored.

This was indeed the Alan Munro who joined us from Clydebank. I've attached his Archive profile  below.  He only played for the first team on three occasions, and he did score one goal, in an away friendly against Stenhousemuir,  which we won 2-1.  The 3rd match he played in ( Not listed in the profile) was a friendly against Rot-Weiss Essen at Firhill on Monday 4th September 1972. We won 3-2.

I used to attend quite a few matches at this time, but I don't remember him either.

I can't add to any of the unknowns which suggests none of them became first-team regulars...though with Andy Anderson, Alan Hansen as well as Bobby Lawrie in reserve colours we clearly had strength in depth!

I think the gent in the suit on the front row is Scot Symon rather than Chairman James Aitken. I didn't recognise Jim Holmes who had a good career as a left back in the decent Morton side in the Andy Ritchie era but don't think he played for the first team for Thistle.

Ex Celts are Auld, Chalmers & Rooney. Rough, Glavin, Joe Craig and Gibson played for Celtic...but they were all great Jags.

Hope someone can come up with the missing names...it's really annoying me!

The photo is included in the Official History book. Copy below- with names.  👍
