Norman
As part of the deal that saw a new swing set and climbing frame installed in our back garden, I have been granted permission to purchase a new grass trimmer. My requirements are fairly simple... 1. Electric 2. Works against everything from irregular stone wall to trees without causing damage 3. Powerful 4. A line feed that doesn't jam every 2 minutes 5. Preferably, not more than £50 I would normally go for Bosch, but the reviews are scathing. Currently considering the Black & Decker GL656, but worried because it's Black & Decker. Any opinions? The Devil's Point
That's shear rubbish The way you clipped my post with a stroke of your pen was spin doctory of the highest order. I think most posters will see through it and won't have the wool pulled over their eyes. Jags fans aren't easily fleeced.

You've made me realise the importance of how tall the various (s)trimmers are. Sadly, this information does not seem to be readily available. I think a trip out to Bilston Glen Industrial Estate may be required.

Had its first run out this afternoon. An excellent choice and currently available at Amazon for £39. It even has an a telescopic handle for us "taller" gentlemen. alx
I've had two strimmers and there doesn't seem to be much to choose. Any old one will do. (not very helpful I suppose!)
