lady-isobel-barnett
More like watching an under 19s game played at a blistering pace from start to finish. Didn't look like either side had any players much older. First half we mixed it about, playing the usual first team passing game out of defence but interspersed with a more direct game. The only goal of the game came came from the latter approach. A long ball out of defence was met by Jonathon Black on the left wing who put in a superb cross for Wilson to score. Second half we ditched the longer game and passed the ball about at pace. This was largely successful but naturally Ayr, who look a useful outfit, benefited from the occasional misplaced pass and really should have made more of a couple of chances. Have not seen a younger Jags team for a time and while I was impressed with the discipline and skill thought we missed someone like Stuart Bannigan who would put his foot on the ball and switch play at ease. That said you could see Halsman was trying hard to do just that. The player that impressed most was Liam Lindsay at centre back. He's big and physical but also comfortable with the ball at his feet. Looks a decent prospect. Black and Gallagher also impressed. Good to see Shug Murray join Sid & Archie in attendance. *
kni
Jamie Campbell has not featured in the last few reserve games. Is he injured or out of favour?
