  1. A coaching role at Cambuslang is one if the Glittering Prizes in junior football.
  2. On a slight tangent from the worry about Celtic fans in the home end, one of them in my work is surprised we have sold tickets for the away end without taking any personal details. Hibs have a form to fill out --> google.com/document/d/1WMFvKmCuv87M2P0N5Dyi8-5dbfT1VRC12cP91zqT0fk/mobilebasic?pli=1 Granted, details given could be false but their method seems a bit more 'secure' than ours. Edit - Not sure if that link works or not? I'm on my phone.
  3. I'm going on the assumption that at least some of their fans have made the effort to travel to Firhill today only to see the away end sold out sign and thought 'feck it' and went up and bought home tickets. I may be wrong, of course.
  4. In the interests of accuracy I should've said no real questions asked. Me: *presses buzzer* Girl in office: Hello, Partick Thistle. Me: Hi. I'm up for tickets for the Celtic game Her: Are they for the Celtic end? Me: No, the Thistle end. Her: OK. Up you come. End of conversation. When I got upstairs there were no more questions asked. I'm pretty sure the soapy bubble at the Glasgow Cup final was partly blamed on the tickets being pretty much a free for all and here we are a few months later with the same arrangements for a first team game, only this time there looks to be plenty of Celtic fans in an area not designated to them. As I said in my earlier post, I'm entirely behind Thistle dealing with it in-house to avoid the rip off handling charge being demanded by Celtic, but it appears that it has been done in a fairly disorganised way.
  5. I assume they still want a 5% cut to sell our tickets, in which case phuck them. Many clubs now sell their own tickets to the two cheeks without hassle as far as I know. Perhaps we should have sought advice from others as this is the first time we've been in the situation. I've just bought 5 tickets at Firhill, no questions asked. No doubt many 'from the east' will do likewise when they turn up and see the 'away tickets sold out' sign on the front door.
  6. I don't really have a problem with the club charging an extra fiver as it seems to be the way of it when the bigger opposition come visiting both here and in England, and as has been pointed out we're only charging in the region of what Celtic will be charging us.Equally, I'd happily see the club sticking with twenty quid. I'm just not overly fussed and will be paying the 25 pounds. On the subject of them getting some of the JHS, again, I'm not overly bothered as other clubs do it, although the club should've had the savvy to not sell ST's in the area likely to be given to Celtic. My main beef in all of this is the disgraceful capitulation over the North Stand. The excuses given about the main stand just don't stack up for me. If they did, the stand should be closed permanently as any action which could give rise to a serious fire could take place at any game.
  7. Get the Weirs on the pitch tonight for the half time draw!
  8. The exterior of the Laurieston Bar in Tradeston today is almost identical to that of the Ben Mhor in the 70s!
  9. As long as the fans all attack en masse any presenter/guest who calls us 'Partick' then it's all good as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Reply received this morning. Paper 'day' tickets must be used at one of the turnstiles specified (which will be either T40-44 or T45-49). Season tickets can be used at any turnstiles. Worst case scenario for a City End dweller like myself is having to enter the stand at the far end and then walking along the concourse inside, but that's not a problem as I'm pretty sure the centre doors are always open these days.
  11. I have e-mailed the club this afternoon. I will post any response I receive.
  12. I haven't heard it at a game for ages. Haven't heard 'If you hate the ****** English' for a long time either. Times have definitely changed to a degree. I remember lion rampant flags for sale with the Jimmy Hill chant on them!
  13. Your reply suggests you both have ST's though. My point is that I don't but my son does and I'm not sure about the logistics of us getting into the ground. He's clearly too young to go in at the opposite end of the stand from me.
  14. I entered the JHS through a City End turnstile marked ST holders only (son wasn't there) with a paper ticket on Saturday but not sure if that was allowed only because there seemed to be a few problems. What turnstiles do you use when you take your boy?
  15. Another quick question. If I, as a non ST holder, take my 5 year old ST holding son, is it safe to assume we will be able to enter the stadium via the same turnstyle? I noticed a lot of the gates were marked ST only on Saturday.
  16. Nope, but it was a few years ago that he was with us, not last season. Anyhow, is there a particular reason why Erskine seems to be completely out the picture and disliked by the United fans? If so, I've missed it.
  17. I can't see any reason why we wouldn't want to take him back. Given that he's not doing anything at Tannadice at the moment I'd be hoping he'd be in the 'John Robertson between Hearts and Newcastle' mould. ie. Doing great at Hearts, transfers to Newcastle and does SFA, moves back to Tynecastle and carries on from where he left off.
  18. Were they knocked back because they had a JHS ticket or because they are 14/15, because there's a difference IMO. If the general rule is that JHS tickets are acceptable then it's inexcusable for someone to be knocked back for that reason. If on the other hand an individual steward was unaware that you have an exemption to the U16 rule and was enforcing the stadium rules then perhaps that's more understandable.
  19. Add to point three "and club about to engage in rank hypocrisy by not dismissing said player (see Fran Sandaza)."
  20. You keep worrying about important stuff like trying to get Jim Spence his jotters whilst the current high heid yins at Ibrox continue to fritter away your share issue cash and stall over an EGM. There's a good fella.
  21. It comes about from them being unwilling to accept that they've won the league 44 times less than the other arse cheek.....and the League and Scottish Cups once less than us, of course.
  22. Sevco should get their head of communications, Jim Traynor, to sort Spence out. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/james-traynor-spl-will-not-be-able-1129166
