DAMN IT ..... halfway through a reply and the computer shuts down!!! My appalingly controversial view is that we need to move away from classifying addiction as a disability. Not sure its as controversial an opinion as it once was. I have ALWAYS believed that drugs and drink or indeed any addiction, is a lifestyle choice and not an illness.

May I suggest anything by Clive Cussler ........ Vixen 03, Deep Six, Night Train, Raise the Titanic (yes I know the film was crap, but the books good), all the way through to Sahara, (yip, film crap again, but the books good). There are plenty of other titles. Its not essential to read them in order, but there are occassional references to the main characters previous adventures. Or oldies, but goodies ....... the Sven Hassel books, well worth a read

Parked at Braehead and got a ticket for parking. OK it was a "disabled" bay, BUT I had a six year old throwing up,was in and out in 7 minutes (no more), half of the bays were taken up with the snow piled up in them AND the "disabled bays" were so far away from the entrance, that unless the occupants of the bays ALL used wheelchairs, they were committing fraud and were being aided and abbetted by the Braehead owners. Anyway, the culprits are an outfit called TOWN AND CITY PARKING of PERTH. I emailed BOTH them and Braehead, told both where to go, and BEGGED them to take me to court as I was going to prove that their disabled bays were illegal (the ones I was parked in at least), since they were further away from the entrance than one could legally walk to qualify for the Mobility Scheme!!!!! Ticket cancelled.

Too many of the Cadogan Street "regulars" continue to get money when thers sod all wrong with them!!!!! People with cancer and REAL life threatening problems REGULARLY get told to bugger off, whilst the wasters who know how to milk the system get everything. FAT, OBESE? Here, have a car, have extra cash ....... ****n GYM MEMBERSHIP would be better for most of them!!!!!!! And dont get me started on the "sore back" brigade!!!!!! "I am a Liberal Democrat and a Coalition supporter." That says it all really!!!!!!!

£165 for bushes (usually rubber or nylon) is pure theft. Wheel alignment (tracking adjustment) is around the £60 mark BUT they`ll tell you that new tyres are required. My advice? Tell them you are reporting them to the Record and Times. Years ago, when I lived in the Drum, I had a Sierra Sapphire. The exhaust was a bit rattly, so I took it in to the one at Knightswood/Anniesland. I "needed" a FULL new exhaust, so I told them to go ahead. When they asked for payment, I pulled out the two year guarantee for a seven month old exhaust fitted by the previous owner. A riot started and the Police were called (by me). They were told it was a civil matter and since I had the paperwork to show that the exhaust was only months old they took the keys from the manager and handed them to me. Previous to that I had a Lada (dont laugh I was skint at the time). I took it down to Crow Road and had the tracking done by Budget. A few days later a front wheel fell under the car. They had forgotten to tighten the track rod ends up. Nothing was done for 3 weeks, UNTIL I phoned Tom Farmer, little known fact ...... Farmer owned that too!!! Saturday morning his right hand man met me at Crow Road. Sacked the manager for not dealing with it, two new track rod ends, two new tyres, tracking sorted, original money refunded. NEVER put a car into Quick Fit, Smileys etc for an MOT ....... it will fail on tyres, exhaust, brakes and suspension!!!!!!! These days Im back to doing MOST of my own repairs again, mainly so that I know its done properly. The exception being routine servicing on my van ....... only to keep the service history with Iveco for when I sell it. Iveco service? £97 part service or £170 full service, not bad for a huge van. (Hoping to sell it before a Timing Belt service is needed ....... too scared to ask how much that one is!!!!!!

Right, this may be miles off the mark, but here goes. As many of you will know, Clyde are about to quit Broadwood. Ok so far. However, these things are generally known months if not a year or two in advance. Still ok? There have been rumours abounding about Thistle selling Firhill and moving to pastures new. Starting to get the drift? Part of Firhill has been sold to "Thistle minded investors" .................. NOW you are getting it! There could be nothing in it, but we DO have quite a few fans from the surrounding area. Time will tell if we have been sold down the canal!!!!!

Hmmmmm the strips are hardly "vintage", I think I`ve still got at least two of them upstairs!!! Mind you, I`ve still got the two "strips" from the 800 match a few years ago. Chico`s Chappies and Andy`s Lyons, I was supposed to play in one team, but got a free transfer and ended up with BOTH shirts. The watercolour looks not bad though ........ a quick email to find out if its still up for grabs, I`ll keep you posted

Look for one that you can see working, and look out for my stall ....... just look for the big red van and the computers set up, listen for the bad language, sometimes bad singing, and crappy music ...... lol

I hate to remember that period regarding "Georgeous George", but it wasn`t he who was supposedly about to buy the Jags. It was actually a group of (alledgedly) Birmingham based businessmen of asian descent, fronted by (alledgedly) Charan Gill. If I remember correctly, there were 3 or 4 different protests going at the time, one included our OAP pensioners being booted out of their seats!!! Hated that period, I almost got conned into a meeting with Galloway, Gill and a couple of others, being set up by a journalist of course!!
